    Can't go wrong with ANY Heart song! Ann's vocals are just always spot on and just draws you in on each and every song!

    This is one of my favorites from their late 80's phase. Ann's vocals are on point, no surprise there. She sings which such ferocity.

    Written by Diane Warren. 2 years later, she wrote the hit song Love Will Lead You back for Taylor Dayne.
    1 of 3 big songs from Bad Animals. The other hit songs are Alone and There's the Girl (which was written by Nancy Wilson and Holly Knight and has Nancy Wilson as the lead singer).

    My favorite Heart song! Diane Warren sure knew how to write hooks.

    Wicked song wicked band. For some similar (Canadian) content I recommend Toronto - Your Daddy Don't Know or Girls Night Out.

    My sister got me hooked on Heart with the "Bad Animals" album. Its a very 80s album, a stark departure from their 70s stuff. But a number of decent tunes on it, the deep cuts are pretty good too (RSVP, There's the Girl, Wait for an Answer).

    When the two cave drawings are fighting they are actually representing the dual guitar parts being played by Nancy (the green animal) and Howard Leese (the purple one). This is just a cool song, not as hard as some of their rockers but it's pleasant and wasn't overplayed to death (except the video maybe, I remember MTV being in love with it). Great reaction, thanks for doing the request and explaining the background on the cave drawings. Without some context I imagine it would seem strange to see them all through the video. Always enjoy your insight and your efforts to really understand and appreciate some of our classic music.

    At that time, they knew how to make high-quality commercial music, not even comparable to 90 years, not to mention our time! 80s, easy. laid-back, sometimes even naive times.

    The title track of the album is a banger too. But they all are...

      He actually did a reaction to the title cut. I agree it's the best track on the album.

    Just more of dreamboat Annie telling it like it is. I was just a kid when their first album came out but with that voice and that face, I don’t care what she weighed, it was irrelevant. She was the engine that drove Heart.

    Obvious in this video that Ann's weight gain is being hidden. The image conscious patriarchy of record labels were/are evil.

    • @leighs966
      @leighs966 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely evil no doubt. I hate it!

    A rather ordinary tune compared to their best. Like the song These Dreams which was written by Bernie Taupin who wrote all the early hits for Elton John

    • @chrisacer6605
      @chrisacer6605 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a little generic I agree, but a lot of their stuff in the 80s was. To me These Dreams was just as generic if not moreso but it's still a good song.

      I agree -- that's another one to check out. This wasn't my favorite Heart album but there were some cuts like Wait for an Answer, the title cut, Alone, and RSVP that are pretty timeless, incredible tracks. Wasn't crazy about the overtly pop stuff like There's the Girl and I Want You So Bad or the over use of synths throughout the album, but it's still top notch.
