  • Filmed in 1990 this amusing little shop was located at the worlds most famous intersection, the corner of 42nd & 7th ave. A practical joke, magic shop where you could buy fake shit, vomit, squirting nickels, joy buzzers. Great assortment of gags and humorous characters working there. I had an interview with who I think was the owner. Brilliant opening theme "Tourist Trap" song by Steve Unger

My dad bought the store from Sy around 1965...he is the one sitting down talking. He passed away in 1995 and this brought back some amazing memories!! Thanks for sharing this and if you have any more of it I would love to see it.

Who for $1 woukd let you pet the puppies. The guy behind the counter wore a sailor cap. NYC was great . Thanks for a great video

Right. With all those office parties it seems likely. Kids seem more interested in e-toys now of course.

V interesting thanx. Are there still other stores selling this type of thing in NYC or has demand gone right down in NYC I wonder?

@wordsmith52 Demand for fake vomit?. It's a hard thing to gauge. But I think there could be a huge demand for practical jokes and gags with the right kind of promotion. These times need a diversion. Laughter is good for you.
