That creek looks like it be a trapping gold mine! Also that jet drive Jhon boat is awesome man! One day id like to build one myself! However im gonna use a snowmobile engine or a 600cc 4 cylinder crotch rocket engine i personally like a lot more power! But hey thats just me! The predator engine is awesome too just not enough top end!
What a sweet little creek. Looks like around 30mph. Bloody hard to control a jet boat in narrow conditions when your instinct says back off the throttle in a corner.
You should take that engine off and use a 2 or 3 cylinder liquid cooled snowmobile engine with the jack shaft/clutch setup. You could utilize the water you’re running on to cool the engine. Also you would see rpm’s a lot closer to 8k or so depending on what gears you used. Cool project though. Look like fun.
the bottom of the boat in the rear needs to be more v shaped where the drive is. you should see less cavitation problems. the ramp should be shorter and steeper heading into the intake and long and shallow going from front to rear. earned a sub tho. love it also, spin the drive much faster. like 10,000 rpm
Considering where he is using it I think its going plenty fast enough. I just saw this first time tonight and new sub too. Guys like this is why America. They cant stop us. We will find a way. For anything.
Ok. Just found this video. Super cool ride. Reminds me of when I had one of the Briggs & Stratton 5hp 4 stroke outboards they used to sell. It barely moved my boat and people would hear me coming long before I got there. They would be standing on their docks because it sounded just like a lawnmower engine except it was a boat motor. Every one of em said we didnt know what was going on.
Pretty cool man, i've always loved this idea. No need for that clutch really, ditching it gains you the advantage of a slow troll all while getting rid of a failure point. Cheers
Your chain appears to be too tight. I'm eating dinner while watching this video, ducking and weaving at every tree limb and bridge. Nice build concept.
You have a pretty interesting installation, and you’re learning by doing. Great stuff! With all them very low bridges your going under I myself am not sure I want to go much faster on that creek than your going right now. Looks like you’re having some good time fun in some pretty skinny water.
Ok, if you feel that the boat needs better handling in the corners, you can add a ruder. This would limit the depth you could run, so make a dagger board like ruder. You could hook it up to a lever control on the other side or tie it in to the one you already made to steer the jet. the ruder could allow for a faster and safer run.
Hi, you removed the governor? You said the gear ratio 22:14 and these engine is reaches what rpm? And size and pitch the impeller and nozzle diameter? Thanks.
I have a jet sky Kawasaki 755 engine, I already put one of these on but I can't increase the rotation of the turbine I put on a 100 cc motorcycle crown I haven't tested it yet and it's very difficult congratulations
Fine work! Really went better than I thought. What was the jet pump out of? And need to be on the throttle for jets to turn, slow down sooner to be on the gas around the whole corner.
I like the idea of using the predator motors.. I think you need to put on a comet style torque converter and then run a chain drive from that to your pump so you can change gear ratios.
Congratulations on your work! I have two questions: First, how many HP does the engine have? Second: relaCongratulations on your work! I have three questions: 1) how many HP does the engine have? 2) What is the ratio of the pinion greater than the crown on the turbine shaft? 3) What is the reason for the rebound before the water enters?
Check out the Louisiana mud boats we make here You would be much faster with a skeg and prop We do it with a tunnel for inboards and fixed skeg they jump stumps run in mud and water lillies stacked up
@@noturfather1106 If you wanna keep it simple and low horse go air cooled so you can chew thru mud and debris Some around here put little automotive engines in and do a heat exchanger but it's way more complex basically they put the cooler inside the boat on floor with super large capacity of coolant and let the seawater run thru front pickup and dump out the back being fed just on gravity For the mud and log jumping I would go with air cooled
@@drifter9425 all great stuff man. I want to make a mud duck boat, small and light enough for me to drag up the banks from where I launch but with enough power to push me through the thick stuff and over dams without getting choked up with weeds. I was thinking my old 12 foot john boat would be a good candidate then maybe cannibalize the shaft and skeg from a longtail motor kit for my stern drive creation
Why are you running a clutch? No need, unless you have it set to only slip under a shock load as a safety for the engine. Also, I think that thing needs more gearing and I KNOW it needs a chain guard. Cool little boat though, would work great on the Tualatin near me
I have been slowly gathering parts for a simialar build. Have you considered a cvt style gokart cluch? They keep the engine in higher rpm range while allowing vairable gearing dependendent on load and would essentially give "neutral" while idling
@@zakn3954 i agree with what you are saying neutal isnt needed Was more thinking neutral for easy pull starts/vibration at rest etc. and cvt to get the optimum gear ratio at any given time/load/rpm.
To get better acceleration and torque you would need a bigger driven sprocket, small one on the engine and larger one on the propeller shaft. Unfortunately it looks as if there may not be enough room for a larger sprocket there.

The pump intake will have to be a whole lot cleaner for 10,000 rpms and no cavitation. That engine will never spin it up that fast.

Ide go with a belt torque converter
Belt drive, with slip roller tensioner
The engine pulls the chain your tensioner should be on the push side of the chain

just built a boat with a 212cc motor with CVT
I’d love to have the build plans for this project!!!!
i would use a yamaha 500 pump
Now you should get with Red Beards Garage and build that engine. He's very knowledgeable.
Thanks stay tuned building another one soon

About the same speed as a 10 horse outboard. Very cool.

The drive sounds so cool ! The motor not so much....something creative with the exhaust out the back or side maybe ? Just thoughts, Great work !
i just built a 212CC jet boat with a custom water box out the back
Where was this filmed???? What state ???
West Michigan
Nice quiet serene creek with wildlife. Bet the natives loved you for that! Sometimes just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
I need this in my life.
Can I get some info on this type build
check out my 212cc jet boat build
you think a go cart style torque converter would do anything different?
Not sure, building another one now might try that
Bondo over the seam of the front of where jetski attaches to boat.
Cool build, but that loud motor would not work for me long term.
Doesn't seem to turn sharp enough but other than that seem pretty sweet
To get better acceleration and torque you would need a bigger driven sprocket, small one on the engine and larger one on the propeller shaft. Unfortunately it looks as if there may not be enough room for a larger sprocket there.
Get on go power sports and get some performance upgrades for the motor and a torque converter set-up
A cvt should definitely help it out on the bottom and the top.

Kawasaki js 550
What type of pump being used
@@frankierogers9787 Kawasaki js 550, but I would recommend a Yamaha 500 intake
That pump needs to be spinning faster, you can hear that the engine isn't working very hard. Or you could put a more aggressive impeller in the jet.
where is the intake located?
Bottom of the boat
With the clutch on there at idle when u let off the gas the shaft stops and thats y ur steering is bad at low speed
Pull that pull that governor put a rod in it from ARC and I think will fly
Does the clutch get hot?
Not to bad
Looks like fun. But turns like a barge. If you could figure out a better steering solution it would be bad ass.
How the hell do you steer that thing?
Joystick
Motorcycle engine, use the transmission to help speed up or slow down your drive
Check out my motorcycle ski tow rope
Dang bro I think it looks like it's flying
about 17MPH
What was gearing
1:1
Im not an expert or anything but I've seen people put torque converters on mini bikes and go karts and get better speed.
I ducked my head going under the bridge 😊 did you?😅
Yes haha
I like it
You need a torque converter instead of a clutch 😎
i will try that at some point
Sempal bro no commen k
With a square tunnel it will suck air.
It has a Kawasaki js 550 intake
Just to be safe
I would put some chicken wire over the inlet grate..
Sounds like belt slipage
👍😎
well, if you run the same on both yu7our engine 'rpm will be your max .. just saying
Very cool 😎
1500 TOOOOOMORRORW 🤣
This is so bad ass nice boat
Prop needs a tunnel, if the rectangle box is where it is, because the water cant get to the prop quick enough.
