Brings back great memories when I was a teenager growing up in southeast Alaska. The 1970s with our old MonArk skiffs with thrashed 50hp mercs and jet pumps.

This is maybe your best video. Very exciting. Made me wanna go grab my boat off the sale yard and hit the water myself. Great action, no wonder you’re so skilled, that’s tough jet boatin!
That looks like fun! Never seen a jet out board. I’m watching this thinking that could definitely work on some small rivers and large creeks here in Southwest Ohio. Very cool 😎 Never know what you’ll see on the ol TH-cam!
Really enjoy your video’s! I’m thinking about buying a blazer 1852 SS with the 60/40 mercury jet from black river. Do you think the 60/40 will have enough getup and go for 2 adults and 2 kids? Will mostly use it for shallow water river fishing but also want something that I could take out on the lake on calm days.
Please do a video on what your impeller looks like!!! I run on the Little Missouri River and it gets bad low with logs and gravel but I’ve never seen someone put a poor mercury 60/40 jet thru the abuse y’all are doing!! Lol man that’s wild
@@DennisBohannan holy crap. You fish the cat tournament up from Tates. I have a camp between 53 and 67 close to Bierne. I was gonna get in that tournament. Maybe next year. There was Diddy poles every 5 ft this year it seemed like lol. Few guys I work with in arkadelphia usually get in it
@@ArkansasLivin That’s cool man! That’s my floating dock right before you hit the Ouachita by tates bluff. Y’all holler at me sometime when you’re gonna be around. I’ll be up there at daylight in the morning trying to catch a bass 👍
Going thru sections with chain saws would cut out that dead wood in the river. I bought a jet boat in 1987 and family and friends were why, until they rode in it.

@coryboyd7958 havoc are pretty, but I see them as bass boats. Too heavy and not many options. They turn well and run clean. Never been around the other
No TH-cam, I did not search for this, neither has this ever been a result of videos I've watched before, nor has it been a topic of discussion among any of the "environmental data" that you've overheard me discussing. It was cool though 😂
Hahaha! Can’t help but smile watching this. I’ve been wanting to get a shallow water river boat for a long time. You just convinced me to buy one. Great video man
In my neighborhood it's always a game of one-upping each other. I'm in first place for the loudest truck with the biggest cam and dead last in the race for the best boat. lol
How far you trimming up to jump the logs? I'm always afraid i'm gonna get hung up. I run a Havoc for reference, pretty stripped. I know, its a lead sled. I did put a tail on it, helps hold it up much shallower.
@@DennisBohannan right on. I seen some spray on a few shots, was guessing you were trimmed out max. Thanks for the reply! Gonna try this out this summer.
No, not that see. When it is like this, it's just too much to jump. I have never ran down on the coast. I know a few guys that do amd they love it. Everyone's spot is a little different though.
Jets are just very easy to get clogged if it’s mossy or lots of stuff it can suck up. My biggest issue is trying to use my boat in the fall to access my bow stands and the ton of leaves floating on the river stops it up about every other bend and you have to stop and rake all the leaves off the grate🤦🏼♂️

Awesome. Those sound like good times
This video is great! I learned a lot about jet drives today that I never knew. They definitely have advantages over props especially in shallow water.
Yes sir! Big time advantages in the shallows my friend! I have a prop driven boat strictly for the lakes and my river boat is jet drive
Nice......brings back memories of pipes, cars, and trees bouncing of the hull

Yeah, it is a lot of fun. Couldn't do it every day. There is lots of wear on a hull and motor.
Yeah, no doubt, probably takes 3 days to repair one days fun run. But hey, we only live once.
We don't need no Stinking Surface Drive!!!😂😂😂 LUVIN it!😊
They struggle here. Especially on the long rock shoals.

One of the boats in this video is an 1852 blazer. It gets the job done.
That's insane how you can drive around this River and not hit a log and tear the motor off that boat crazy skills
Yeah, believe me we have tour stuff up. Not this trip though.
You think you could do a video on the trailering set up with a jet? Do you use some kind of transom saver? Thanks
Good idea.
Dint need it

Do all the jet guys have tunnel hulls? Does it make a big difference?
Most don't. None in this video
Really slows a boat down having a tunnel.
How often are you fixing your jets?😂😂
Just pump a little grease in after every use. I do have to sharpen and adjust clearance often on impeller.
Where did y'all put your boat in.
Is that North or South of Toledo Bend?
Then I heard y'all mention Gladewater guys, y'all have to be on the Smith County end
Yes, Big Sandy area.

Good thing bout a river like that is no game wardens
I for sure plus
What are your bottom thickness and coatings on those boats?
All .100 no coating.
T for Texas.
T for Tree jumpers.
We really wanted to get to that clear cool water at that creek.
Boys; if the motor ain’t Black, take it back!!!!!!
Nice!
Pretty good Yankee Zephyr
Tunnel hulls? I just got a jet last week this is what im wanting to do. Im in zavalla not far from sabine

Not this day
Where is the LIKE x1000 button at again??????????????????

The mercurys all come with stainless. Also I should make one.
Wash and silting out the whole river ay?
Destroying one eco system at a time.

I bet that river is full of flathead catfish!!!
