Christ Rock at 2016 Oscars: "This is the wildest, craziest Oscars to host. We've got all these controversies." 2022 Oscars: "Hold my beer."
Say what you must about the man, his legendary status is undisputed. The best to ever do it.
This monologue still slaps in 2022. I'm slapping my knees at how hilarious it is.
Nah son🤣
💀😂
Definitely a big hit.
It's brilliant
Internet is gonna make a riot outta this
Chris Rock...no fear. Could have played it safe, but as always Chris Rock took this opportunity to call out Hollywood, and call it out he did....genius.
yep great Rock
Hey, I'm kinda trying to do the same thing with how the msm portrays China. I make vlogs and vids from this country and I hope you check it out.
@Maynard Frith how many times are you gonna comment that?
Maynard Frith - chris rock made a shit ton of money because of chris rock. GTFOH with the baseless bs.
Call them out for what?
I've seen this video so many times and it never gets old!! They need Chris back next year at the oscars
a crazy spot on timeless monologue perfectly delivered touching on the untouchable subject of racism. Kudos to the master Chris Rock.
We need to protect this man. He’s a national treasure.
@@michaelzeido3946 u mad😂
You can’t face the facts
@@michaelzeido3946 bruh did you miss the video. It sounds like you have the same opinion
@@michaelzeido3946 you racist twat
@@michaelzeido3946 bruv at the time when he was hosting people was protesting it. he had to address it. the hell are yu talkin about
@@michaelzeido3946 Race IS everything in this country, and if you cannot understand that then you're just as bigoted as the best of them since you're so content to live in a world with obvious disparities. We will take any and all platforms at our disposal to continue pursuing equal treatment in all facets of our lives. If we were true equals you would never hear stuff like this. At least we're not storming the nation's capital. Deal with it.
Also, you're also obviously completely disregarding the part where he admits that progress is being made which says a whole lot about you.
A black category :
*Best Black friend who dies first in a horror movie*
Or Best Black Best Friend. The Oscar goes to Stacey Dash!!!!!
Maynard Frith 🙄🙄🙄😒😒😒😒
@Maynard Frith What a joke.
@Maynard Frith ur either ignorant or very stupid
I don’t even know why that’s a stereotype. Black people straight-up never die first at all in horror movies.
What an amazing 🤩 job. He handled that year’s controversy with humor, transparency, and insight.
This has been the shortest 10 minutes i have ever experienced 🖤
Looks like Will had been harbouring some revenge type feelings for a while.
You’d think he’d have those feelings towards his wife sleeping with her kids friend.
No, I think he was still laughing at the previous joke and when it sunk in what Rock said he lost it! Good man!
@@Dan0TheMano no that has nothing to do with black representation in Hollywood.... Those are 2 different situations
I agree
Yep since chris rocks 2016 Oscars speech where he continually belitteled and joked on will jayda and the black boycott
Brought back here by how much of a pro this man is. He handled it all to perfection.
A mostly peaceful award ceremony.
PRO. Lol He's a little bitch who got smacked like one. He wouldn't have done anything if there were on the street with no cameras.
@Sydney Finau yup
Me as well.
Even then, cracking jokes on people that weren't even in attendance.
A brilliant act, and one of the most beloved comedians. Will Smith slapped him not because of this years Oscar’s , but because of this video where Chris mocks Jada boycotting the Oscar’s when she wasn’t even invited. Will is going to pay for that slap.
That is exactly it. The slap was about this video, not that silly GI Jane joke. Jada was still upset about this video.
That was his way of putting it out there for them and for us ! That’s how you do it❤️
People talking about the crowd getting uncomfortable. C'mon guys that is the botox.
Dead 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nah they're uncomfortable AF. You can hear it by what they choose to laugh at and what they don't.
Lmao😂
@Maynard Frith enlighten me. How many? And also mention how many movies you have seen please. Otherwise I have to think you don’t know how to use internet.
😭😭😭
C. Rock is now the most famous comedian on the planet. Well done will.
He already is
@@gresyehb9862 yeah but this whole situation put him in the spotlight again 🤩
yea these jokes are hilarious. Can't wait for his tour.
he really knocked this out of the park to me. a tense subject artfully managed. which makes me honor him even more for sparing will and jada a verbal beating.
and Will becomes the most hated😆
9:38 The earpiece fell, Chris instantly catches it with perfect reflex without letting the audience even notice and continues with the monologue, now thats what I call a pro.
Amazing. Even with the current drama it’s brave to say all these things in such a big and lucrative stage. Keep it up.
When your grandmother is swinging from a tree, it's really hard to care about best documentary of foreign short. Im dead
Lootfisk Chris Rock is a genius. Period.
Holly shit this is too much 😂
i laughed too hard at that
no no, the grandma is dead
Lootfisk That was one of the hardest lines I ever heard from Chris Rock. Like that shit had me shook cause everything he said is true. Through out the years only so many black noms actually won awards. This Chris Rock opening and Ricky Gervais this year have to be my all time faves.
"I can't boycott rihanna's pants coz I wasnt invited there"😂😂😂
He's never been to that part of Pussytown before
Chris Rock was 51 years old in 2016 ..and he looks very young....wow
Boy Chris was tearing it up on that stage that night
Way to go Chris
We wasn’t worried about being nominated back in the day we was busy trying to live another day

I noticed when Chris was making black jokes everyone was knee slapping laughing but as soon as he talked about Hollywood being racist, a few applause, a few laughs. Feed them what they want and then add a little truth serum
They think they're slick.

With the way the camera turned to Kevin Hart immediately after he was mentioned it shows that the direction was planned very accurately.
...which I'm not sure if it means that it was intentional, or if the cameraman messed up and wasn't ready when it was his turn.
@@KombatGod no actually the cameraman was tasked to pan to Kevin Hart at a certain point but due to his miniature size they couldn’t find him and the cameraman panicked

Chris rock bro u are brutally honest about the world 🌎 keep it up much love blessings 🙏👑.
Chris Rock deserves massive praise for speaking out the way he does here. He could have easily performed a 'standard' routine but decided to be honest and true to himself. Talking about racial inequality and stereotyping on that type of platform is incredibly brave and deserves huge credit!
How is that incredibly brave? When does any celebrity get roasted or cancelled because they defended black people? If anything doing that was the safe move. If he didnt then he would have gotten more heat from the black community. Aint nobody give him shit for doing this.

Only Chris Rock gets to pull this off and walk away as if it never was truthful. Real hardcore truth using humour. Who's still here 2022
7:43 Hope Paul Giamatti wins this year so this joke can age like fine wine
Right 👍. Because Paul should have been nominated for straight outta Compton
Chris just gave them a sermon and managed to be hilarious at the same time. He was born to do this.
The Oscars really needed this at this time....He truly delivered and made it light hearted
Comedy at the expense of others, buffoonery! The real sermon, James 3:6 “And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.”
he's the real MVP 🙌
@@thesimplegospel3529 I have a problem when you VIEL attacks as humor! Now that’s cowardice! This has become a battle for over six years! I am not a Jada fan by any means, however, I do applaud the fact that both she and Will boycotted the Oscars for a lack of diversity amongst MINORITIES! Of course they’ll hire court jesters, clowns and buffoons! But to hire blacks and any other minority to have a “seat at the table” relating to decision making, is huge and worthy of boycotting!
When we forget the back story, especially a back story of substance, and just laugh it off, that’s failure. To make light of serious matters, very short sighted! To continue to get the same laughs for six year and to add to that laughter, you become a mocking mouse not a man! Whether Jada does or doesn’t have alopecia, to mock an individual’s illness, low, below the belt!
After all is said and done I personally believe this was an ILLUMINATI RITUAL of Humiliation! Folks haven’t even connected the dots. Not only is Will in front of the camera, he has a MULTIMILLION DOLLAR PRODUCTION company making millions brokering deals with Sony and NETFLIX! The boycott was real!
I dare say Michael Jackson …. He was right about SONY! Oh for the Khazarians to clip your wings to teach you a lesson! They think they are the only ones to make money! It’s all about the Benjamins!
Funnier than dave Chappelle in my opinion.
I appreciate chris for exposing Hollywood like this
He just speaking truth
I think he made some great points, but calling out individuals for having "all the great parts" (i.e. Leonardo) is ignorant at best, racist at worst.
I always laugh because blacks are like 14 percent of the population but everyone feels like the should be nominated in every category. Side note the Oscars are a fucking joke anyways!
Get real... Hollywood is racist? Sure... every movie has the rock Kevin Hart and Tiffany haddish
It's tacky for black people to ALWAYS fukn talk about slavery everyone already knows
Love him or hate him, the man speaks truth to power...
Man, undoubtedly one of the greatest comedians that ever lived he is thought-provoking he straight up slayed that monologue everything was so cringe 😂
Chris accepting the host duties, and addressing the issues brought more light to the subject, then those choosing to stay away. Bravo Chris 👏
