I love em to the max! MY 3 FAVORITES; R. Gervais, D. Chapelle, K. Williams. You guys rock the house every single time!
@@kennethd.christy6326 Not really, it's just a very different style of sitcom. The British office wasn't meant to be long running, it was never going to last more than 13 episodes ( in fact it was originally meant to be 12). Gervais himself has a lot of range, look at extras, or derek or after life, his characters definitely aren't David Brent. The UK office is a masterpiece, but it couldn't go on for too long, the dry awkwardness would just make you depressed and you'd stop finding it funny. Which is why it's the perfect length. On the other hand, the much more light hearted US office follows a lot of US comedy tropes, and is designed, after the first season, to be a long running american sitcom. Which is great. But the difference isn't one of talent, it's because of the purpose of the series, are what each was written for. I love them both, for very different reasons, and the US office isn't so much a remake as a completely new show with a similar premise
You would actually love it because the day would go fast without a lot of retakes! Getting it right the first time has a lot of virtue so you can actually have a life, not nonstop 14 hour days. Lack of professionalism gets very tiresome fast.

Fun fact: Steve made a copy. He still keeps the original to get into restaurants and stuff.
The 'shoddy remake' joke sailed clearly over the audience's heads.

It's funny precisely because it's awkward and the poster DID get it!
I don't know how Steve kept a straight face. This was hilarious!
I really wish he'd have been the permanent host for this. The celebrities might have got butt hurt, but the rest of us at home absolutely loved being able to watch him roast them in a public setting and them having to sit there politely. This man is a national treasure
INTERNATIONAL treasure
Nobody got butt hurt over rehearsed jokes that were supposed to give a stale awards show some edge. It's mind boggling how people think that Gervais actually "shocked" anyone.

Ricky Gervais became my idol after his "Shut the F up about politics and take your F'n award" speech at the Golden Globes.
Lmao he has never changed
I'm convinced Gervais is the foreign press' way of letting it all out...while saying "hey, it's just british comedy" to avoid getting caught
@William 989 maybe because he's more of a centrist than a blue anon lunatic.
But you the random joe who works at mcdonalds gets to talk about politics at work? Fuck off lol this is america say what ya want speak your feeling about politics who cares
@William 989 The ridiculousness of conservatives frankly doesn't look like much next to the ridiculousness of the current left.
Colbert and Stewart cracking the hell up was just great.
ShiroiKage009 and Steve's wife Nancy Carell
agree..... I never saw Colbert losing it like that

Jake Ball hahaha what did he mean???? i didnt get it ;-;

There's not enough Ricky Gervais to go around. Absolute legend says how it is.
what steve did here is pure acting.. how he kept a straight face through all this where most people would have burst out laughing.. Both geniuses
He couldn't keep a straight face when he walked down the stage, though :D
Edit: Just realized you were talking about Steve, not Ricky. I'm a bit drunk.
3:40 "And the emmy goes to..... Steve Carrell" I wouldve laughed my ass off.
I don't care about awards shows, but the fact that Steve Carell lost Emmy after Emmy, even in his last year, to that sitcom darling from The Big Bang Theory is a crime. Michael Scott was such a nuanced, subtle, crazy but realistic, real-world character that did not need a laugh track to get results. He was not a cartoon. The fact that The Office has lived on, for almost a decade after it ended, and attracted legions of new fans, to the point that it's the most watched show on Netflix, says a lot. Steve was brilliant in that role. Michael Scott is such a great, growing, funny character. Sheldon is ALF.

That "shoddy remake" joke went over alot of peoples head damn
Yes because unfortunately most people think the US office is the only. Not that it's not great in it's own right though
I noticed that 🤣🤣🤣
@@Grantofglyn I think by now people know
Loved the British Office but Gervais is too one-note to have maintained a series as long as Carell did.
All credit to Steve Carell for keeping a deadpan 'not amused' face the whole way through
@Hello 99% of actors wouldn't be able to do that

Omg yes i'll totally agree!! I'll don't know how they're doing but just amazing. Love them
You would actually love it because the day would go fast without a lot of retakes! Getting it right the first time has a lot of virtue so you can actually have a life, not nonstop 14 hour days. Lack of professionalism gets very tiresome fast.
