    When you spoke about loving your cellulited body parts, I cried. All the women on my mother's side have this weird section of cellulite all down the front of the thighs that runs from hip to knee. And let's not mention how dimply the back of the thighs are. Good God! For many years I wouldn't even wear shorts because I was too self conscious. Now that I'm getting older, I've released the self consciousness about wearing shorts, but still didn't like the way my thighs looked. But over the past 6 months, I've really seen a big change! I've been vegan for a little over a year, but recently I've noticed the dimple section has been rapidly decreasing through exercise and plant based eating. My mother used to tell me I would never get rid of it, that it's hereditary, but I'm proving that wrong! Thank you so much for the tips on the massage and feet on the wall; I'll definitely try those!😊🌠🌙

    I'll never understand why you aren't one of the more popular channels on TH-cam. You're videos are always so well thought out, informative, and comprehensive. There are so many extremely popular channels that promote junk food veganisim, binge eating, food addictions, loads of hippy dippy bullshit, consumerism, etc, etc and I just don't get it! *vent over* Sorry...it had to be said!! Love ya Lily!

    Hey Lily! Can you make a video about dental hygiene? Your opinion on fillers, veneers, and how to recover from sensitivity. Help! I need your opinion, dentists tell me different things and recommend high fluoride toothpaste but I heard that fluoride isn't good for you and there are so many natural products that claim remineralization.

    I’ve been using a spiky roller + some oils on adhesions on my hips and thighs every time I get out of the shower, and it’s UNREAL how different they feel after just a couple of weeks. They don’t look particularly different yet, but they’re soft and pliable instead of feeling like a blob of hard, lumpy fat.

I've always been very sensitive on the outside of my thighs and bruise easily there (also have a ton of cellulite there). I've noticed some reduction in appearance of cellulite since going vegan but it's still very sensitive. So stoked to hear you're getting to a more balanced, energetic place... it's definitely a process and I'm proud of you for sticking with it! For some people it can be really difficult to reduce salt, especially if you've had issues with adrenal fatigue/chronic stress. The most important thing to do is reduce the amount of processed foods you're eating, as those are the sodium bombs!!! Not sure what your diet looks like right now, but the fewer processed and restaurant meals you eat, the better off you'll be, sodium wise. In fact, the vast majority of the sodium in the SWD comes from processed and restaurant prepared foods. Eating at home, I know I too prefer salted foods, so I allow myself to have those as I feel more satiated when my food is well seasoned. All in all, if your body is insisting you have salt, my recommendation is DO NOT DENY YOURSELF... it can trigger binges and - if we have adrenal issues - excessive drops in blood pressure. Just be mindful and make sure you're consistently hydrated.

      lilykoi hawaii thank you! What a kind response. Rather with kindness for myself in mind. I definitely had something going on with the adrenals. Low progesterone through chronic stress. Since 2016 I started eating mostly whole foods. So this really helped,especially with the inspiration and motivation through your videos. Will always be greatful to have found a voice that makes sense to me in all the madness :) Sending virtual hugs across the ocean....

    Thank you for yet another informative video!
    As far as I know, you haven't made a video on yeast infections. Is it something you might cover in the future? I've been vegan for about three years, gave up meat 7 years ago, I eat relatively healthy MOST of the time, but I still get yeast infections pretty often (medicine doesn't work long term!) or I feel like there's something wrong down there, not necessarily with the whole package of symptoms.

      @anncobra 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @lilykoihawaii

      Oh yeah, vaginal equilibrium can be f**king ridiculous. And yeast infections make us so desperate, we're just about willing to put anything up there to make the discomfort stop. Glad you're not using soaps or traditional hygiene products - those are the worst. I assume you only wear cotton undies - that is an absolute must. I've found that if I include too much fat in my diet, especially from oils, I tend to get a little unbalanced down there. As much as possible, leave your vagina alone and let her choose how she wants to cleanse. Orgasm is a lovely way to do so, though getting there without anything going inside is the most helpful way. Speaking of which, whoever's your sexual partner needs to be helpful... cleanliness is obvious, but I know many women who are thrown off by unprotected sex, especially if your partner has a SWD. Probiotic supplementation can help to balance the microbiome. And if you're desperate, instead of going for the traditional creams and junk that doesn't work well, you can 1.) Put a garlic clove up there... I'll make slits in one side without cutting all the way through and just put it in. I only do this if it's proving to be a chronic issue, which is rare if I use my other method... 2.) As soon as symptoms begin, I splash hydrogen peroxide on the area. Hydrogen peroxide kills yeasts instantly. The 3% dilution usually works like a charm, but it'll make you wish you were dead for about 15 seconds. Like, literally, you'll want to claw your own vagina out, collapsing on the floor, pleading with whatever god you believe in. It's horrendous. You can dilute it half/half with water, but if I'm in a pinch, I just splash the 3% on and live through the short agony. It's not as bad if you use it right as symptoms start before too much scratching/damage has been done to the sensitive skin.

  • @upcyclucie
    @upcyclucie 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Ahh excuse my Dutch, but I’ve done every single f**king thing to get rid of my cellulite. Let me break it down for you, probably there’s something I do wrong. I live a plant based/gluten free (not by choice) lifestyle. I’ve been very athletic my entire life, my muscles are toned beautifully, especially my butt and leg muscles. I stopped competition dancing, but I still do weight training and rebounding consistently. I don’t drink coffee or alcohol or do drugs and I stopped taking birth control over 5 years ago. I drink 3 liters of water a day. I learned to love my body even with the cellulite, I nurture it and even talk to it lol. On top of that I dry brush and get massages (I tried cupping but it wasn’t for me). I started noticing cellulite after I had to lay down for a couple of months due to a back problem and it went down hill from there. After my recovery (which is like 6 years ago) I picked up my workout slowly and got back into “shape” in no time. But my cellulite seemed to get worse and worse. Now I’m at a point that I don’t care as much anymore, but still, I’d like to wear shorts in summer. The ONLY thing that I can think off that might f**k up everything is that I’m an empath, I also don’t sleep very well, sometimes for weeks and sometimes I sleep ok, but rarely super well. I always wake up at night to go pee (even though I stop drinking at 7 pm). Do you think that that is the source of the situation? What else could it be right? But if that was the case, I’d probably would have had cellulite way earlier in life, I’ve always been an empath and a light sleeper. I started noticing cellulite when I was about 26, I’m 32 now. Thoughts??? Thanks for everything, you are the best!! Ps. Your butt is delicious Lil! 🙏🏻😍

    • @lilykoihawaii
      @lilykoihawaii  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Lucie,
      Dang, that's frustrating. Under the circumstances, my guess would be it is either related to regularly elevated levels of stress hormones from empathically moving through life/regularly disrupted sleep and/or a genetic predisposition. Mother? Grandmothers? Do you know if this is something that affected them, too? If you don't have issues like easy bruising, broken veins in your thighs/legs, or varicose veins you might benefit from using a tool like the fascia blaster or doing more aggressive physical manipulation like I do in this video. Massage and dry-brushing are great, but they're not powerful enough to break up those fascial adhesions that cause the dimpling. Regardless, I'm glad you focus on being kind to your body despite this irritation. Hope thats helpful! 💗

    • @upcyclucie
      @upcyclucie 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      lilykoi hawaii thank you so much for taking the time to reply!! I definitely think my empathic life and sleeplessness are the biggest factor. Being an empath is not a bad thing, but reducing stress and sleeplessness that comes with it is what I need to work on. Genetics could also play a role, from my dads side there’s no cellulite, but sensitive skin, from my moms side yes, but not too much. I have sensitive freckled skin, not on my legs, but they bruise pretty easily. That’s why I stopped cupping, I’m afraid I will permanently damage veins or something. I don’t wanne have veiny legs at 32. I red somewhere that when you try to manipulate the cellulite tissue there will always be brushing, because of the blood float? And it’ll gradually get less. I’m scared to injure my skin permanently though. I think I’m going to try your method for a while to see what it does. And else I’m just going to live happily with my nicely toned butt and legs and some dimples. Ha! Have a great weekend! ❤️

    Hi Lily! Like always so delighted with your videos. This is out of subject but I was wondering if you could make a video about mainstream veganism and what to be aware of. I know I'm early in my journey and started following a few vegans on Instagram to inspire me but as the months have gone by I see that some people advertise veganism in a way for them to become "successful" I'm all for people doing what they want with their lives but some are just like go vegan! Question about cortisal, anxiety and eczema: Do they relate? And how can you focus on healing and balancing a good functioning of your kidney's and all the stuff they produce? I have had terrible eczema ever since I was a child. When I would get a sort of excema attack, it was always paired with feelings of anxiety, heavy itching, sweating, repetitive thoughts, like a fever dream. I tried everything and by the time I was 16 I was not allowed to use cortisal creams anymore because my blood levels of cortisal where getting to high (thank you doctors :S ). Then I went on a long journey of alternative and holistic approaches. My acupuncturist adviced me to try WFPB about ten year ago, which helped drastically, no more medicine needed! The eczema is still in my system though, it comes up a little bit every now and then. And i did have another double kidney infection recently, unfortunately with no discussion on the use of antibiotics.
    I am still dealing with anxiety as every other sensibel persone on this planet ('I am sensing, not sensitive' ;) ) but I notice that I have a more invasive form of anxiety whenever my cheeks and arms starts to flush and itch. Do you think they might be related? Can I eat, drink or do anything specifically to help out my kind kidneys a bit?
    BTW I am in the 10% of non cellulite but trust me, you don't want to trade with my skin :P
    Thanks for all your research and tips and awesomeness!
    Kind regards,
    Rianne

    • @lilykoihawaii
      @lilykoihawaii  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rianne,
      Oi, I'm sorry to hear you've been dealing with eczema for so long - it's something I don't have first hand experience with and I haven't done much research on the topic. Most of what I hear is very general: whole plant food diets help! Which it sounds like you've done well with!!! There is DEFINITELY a connection between anxiety and skin issues, especially skin issues related to immunity. Also closely related to immunity and especially autoimmune issues is gut health. I'm not sure how your GI tract has been as a kid or now, and the WFPB diet will have already helped immensely, but many people with eczema have found probiotic supplementation to be helpful. Not sure if you've tried that already, but some good quality probiotics could be in order after the antibiotics (which are always necessary for kidney infections, so that was the right move!). As far as managing anxiety - I feel you - it's hard to stay calm now days with any number of apocalyptic scenarios possible. Being able to remain conscious of reality AND learning to let go of what we can't control is a dance I'm still learning, too. I can't tell you, specifically, what practices can help YOU feel less anxious, but certain things work well for me like: quiet time in nature, talking to myself with kindness and humor, or just going to bed and relaxing as early in the evening as possible.
      To support your kidneys the most important factor is to stay well hydrated. There is a supplement called D-Mannose which helps prevent bacteria from sticking to the urinary tract and can ensure you don't have a recurrent infection. Real cranberry juice or cranberry supplements will do the same. There are kidney cleansing herbs, but it's not always wise to encourage intense detox while your kidneys are healing. If I were you, I'd just focus on hydration with pure water, a diet high in fresh fruits and vegetables (which are all high in potassium and water), and be mindful about sodium intake. Coconut water could also be really lovely, as it comes with balanced electrolytes! Hope that helps and all the best as you continue to heal!
      Take care!
      Lily

    • @mevrouwdebeer
      @mevrouwdebeer 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      What a lovely respons!
      My sister bought D-mannose for me, she is a holistic mid-wife and a pretty cool lady just like you. I did not know what it was for, I was in too much pain to bother. Now I know, thanks. I usually do get obsessed with any supplement I take because intention is important. Your reply is a good reminder why we need to reach out and that self-education can not be done by yourself.
      I will start with pro-biotics. I will rewatch your episode on it with the knowledge it applies for all skin issues, not just acne. And I will ask my sister and chosen family and google it to shreads before I start :)
      Ever since I saw the episode of Chef's Table featuring Jeong Kwan (a must see!) I started to take it a bit easy on the onions and garlic. She said it messes up her meditation, I believe her because she is a super hero.
      In general I find my belly never to complain that much. But when I am starting to connect more and more with my body and mind every year, I find out that sometimes I did not notice things before because I was disconnected from it. After a while that notion is not scary anymore and gets very motivating. I also see this happening in your video's, you learn by doing and try not to judge it through the process. That is why I find your video's very inspiring and motivating.
      Thank you for your elaborate reply, watching your video's is one of my favorite things to do when I am taking a moment of self-care. And thank you for introducing me to the work of Brene Brown, my friends are starting to get in to her work too, so you're just spreading waves of compassion around the globe. Keep it going!
      Warm Regards from The Netherlands
      Rianne
