This is probably the best way to show a car as it is for any dealer, this style of video. Show the honest truth of the car and then let the buyers decide. Excellent work Bob!

My dad had a 300D in the 1982 and I used to drive it to school or go out on dates in out. It was a really prestigious car back then.

Worth a look at that brake master, usually when there’s rust on the booster the rear seal on the master is leaking and the booster is seeing a leak of fluid (hence the paint loss) and the booster is pulling fluid into it. Good looking w123!

Hi Bob, now that is a car with the most reliable bullet proof engine you could ever wish to have... My father had one in his collection up until recently, it only had 2k miles on it and it was immaculate. Good cars 👍🙂👍🇺🇲🇬🇧🇺🇲🇬🇧

As an owner of a 1979 300D NON-Turbo unit with 230K miles, mine is a true rust free original Northern California One Owner car, and YES! It is what I call "Old Man Tan"! I named her "Sandy" I am in LOVE with these 123 diesels. Is my Non-Turbo a bit anemic in the speed department? Well DUH! However I am constantly enamored with her grace, charm and perfectly engineered presence let alone the amazing sound of the 3.0L Diesel soundtrack at idle. Nice car!

Lower valence is welded to the bottom of the fender on the 1983 W123 chassis, should be the same for 1982.

I can tell you why the rust only appeared on the driver side. The space where the hood springs nest into is like a little pocket that traps leaves, dirt and grime, and when it rains on the car, it runs off the hood into that little trap and soaks up the junk trapped there. Left long enough it rusts a hole through to the inside of the wheel well where it rusts through all the different steel panels that intersect in that area, including right through into the cab of the car.
So, for sure this car has more rust than just that outer quarter panel. It will require that the quarter panel be removed, and all the rust removed and patched.

👍👌👏 Simply fantastic! I absolutely love W123s and especially the fact, that you are honestly showing the few problems. In Europe, especially in Germany, the W123 300 Turbodiesel is worth a fortune (and not only because Turbodiesel engines had never been available here). The 250/300 Turbodiesel W124 models are also worth a fortune. The W124 is the last proper built Mercedes before extremely bad CEO Schrempp produced only crap (that was nevertheless sold very expensive). Unfortunately I still have to own my Schrempp crap 1998 W210 = The worst Mercedes ever produced. Only a company like Daimler Benz could survive something like this (a lot because of the image that the star on the hood had and gives people).
Thanks a lot for making explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and health to all involved people (of course definitely excluding the loader operator).
Post Scriptum: The first W123 have been built in 1976, not 1977 as you mentioned. 2) The best Mercedes car Diesel engine of all times is the 240D with 72 hp. Good for 1 million kilometres = 620.000 miles and more.

W123 bumpers in Europe are chromed steel, not aluminium. Are You sure, they are not steel in US spec?

    • @euroasianbob9268
