I have this one on me for over 10 years every single day. Only just in the last few months the darker green stuff is loosening/disintegrating a bit. Other than that, it's awesome. Haven't even really needed to sharpen it and I use it for all kinds of things. Could use a replacement but it's still going so I'll keep it until it really falls apart. Bought it tax free in Samnaun, great investment!
Andy, for those who have issues with the serrations, there's a non serrated version called the Victorinox Forester M Grip I obtained my via Victorinox's Amazon store. Not sure where else you would obtain one in the UK. £45.89 with Prime as of May 4th 2024.
The 111mm swiss army/soldiers style knives with at least the saw, corkscrew, and scale tools (any model) is the best camping/survivalist kit I can possibly think of out of any one, one handed product on the market. First add corkscrew mini screwdriver of your choice. Also add corkscrew tinder and toothpick replacement ferro rod from Tortoise Gear and you can start a fire on any rainy or windy day. Huge fan of that.
If you squish them in, you can fit two Tinder Quik tabs in the space beneath the blade and the saw. If needed, you can fish out one or both with a stick. Regardless of those tabs, the wavy serrations make amazing curls that will light right up with a ferro rod.
4 reasons the Rucksack is the best 111mm: Lighterweight (easier to pocket curry) more ergonomic handle, BETTER knife blade, better saw. add a 5th rason, it costs less than the other models.
Thank you for doing the follow up video - you promised and you delivered! Its a lovely looking knife, i think I'll pull the trigger and get one. When you say its not legal carry in the UK, does that apply to using it on trails? (Im not from the UK so forgive my ignorance, but ill be doing a trail in Scotland soon.) Cheers
@@Wildernesswarriorbushcraft cheers I was looking through it! I suppose it's best I bring the smallest knife I have. The law does seem to be common sense really but I'd imagine it's easy to get caught out and cause unnecessary hassle. I'll still get that Swiss soldiers knife for use on our farm, though! Thanks again
The best 111mm is the Rucksack, not the Forester nor the Soldier. I was glad when I saw Ethan Becker and other famous "knife" people, currying the Rucksack and mentioning that it is the best (for the outdoors) bcause I already did edc the Racksack, because I live in the outdoors since the early 2000s . I own all the famous models,Rucksakk is indeed the best.Discontinued but can still be found,in shops or internet.

I suppose if you didn't want to carry it on a British street you could always bring a 91mm Hiker instead and keep this with your camping gear
Not legal to carry locking knife in UK? Ridiculous.
No Sir!🤷🏻♂️
