That's awesome Chris. The first time I saw them was the 'Allied Forces' tour at the Stampede Corral in Calgary. I agree...great band and memories for sure.
That performance by Triumph was iconic, I remember seeing them at a club named "The Piccadilly Tube" in Toronto, they were so amazing, Another incredible band from Canada, that makes us all proud to be Canadian. True talented legends that won't be forgotten.
Me too Ak. Ya, my inner teenager was freaking out...it was a fun hang. You can check out the entire interview here...th-cam.com/video/KNsRty_OGUU/w-d-xo.html. Thanks for the comment man!
One thing he doesn’t touch on here-The Clash made a big deal about sell-outs, money and corporate culture. Meanwhile, they were paid a half-million bucks to play. The promoters staff and crew were so pissed off with them that they put up an image of the Clash’s $500,000 cheque onto the Jumbotron screens while they performed 😂
Yes he sure did. I'm pretty sure they got paid :) They were always a band who's music I respected but other than a handful of songs, never really did it for me.
Sounds like a typically uninformed punk rock response for Joe to say something negative. I guess it is to be expected....you know, like everything that comes out of Johnny Rotten's mouth.
With a rare exception or two, I have not been a fan of punk, especially with the early associations to the skinhead/neo-Nazi Movement. And it has been particularly amusing how punk, itself, became so corporatized and promoted from about the mid-1990s forward. That said, yeah, there has been a lot of ignorance and hypocrisy spewed from a number of those acts, but Johnny Rotten does deserve credit for being one of the proverbial canaries in the coal mine when it came to Jimmy Savile, so not everything that has come out of his mouth has been nonsense.
Used to watch Triumph at the old Ontario Place ampitheatre in Toronto as a teenager. Great band and great memories 👍🇨🇦

That's right, they were total hypocrites...so lame.

Joe sounded ridiculous going on and on. Didn’t read the room! Still, The Clash were a great band.
