      After losing my dad, I’d get on the water and start crying when I ripped the main motor. He always loved ripping it. It still sucks and it’s still a thought in my head, but it gets so much easier. Keep fishing man, keep that head up. It’s what he’d want! He didn’t let you get that 8 bc it wasn’t your time. You got this.

    I thought that the combination of a chest camera and camera in the back of the boat was extremely well done. It allowed us to see where you were casting, how you were working the baits, plus see the casting angles. Well done! I had one pack of the Xzone Whiplash Shad but had never used it on my highland reservoir where I fish but this video gives me ideas where I might fish it and how. Well done!

    I really like those little harmony bait straps from Amazon. They definitely help with hook up ratio on ewg hooks. They also make the bait last longer.

  • @phatpakbaits
    @phatpakbaits 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Nice yeah that whiplash Shad is a lot like our 5” Drunkin Shad . We user softer floating plastisol increasing the action on the bait

  • @shorefishingontario
    @shorefishingontario 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Tough seeing a big fish throw the hook like that. We've all been there. Happened to me on a dropshot, came right up like yours and threw the hook. Never used an EWG on a dropshot worm ever since tho lol. Just have to pick up the pieces and stick to it and not let it get to your head and keep going. Great video!

    I discovered the fluke a day ago and was surprised by not only how many bites I was getting, but the aggression of the bites

  • @blind_eye_fishing
    @blind_eye_fishing 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    In 35 years ive never seen any fluke style bait that didnt have a un lifelike crazy erratic action lol. Ive fished so many too, the fluke is still king of that design. It has a flitter like a stick bait at times too. Creme made one that was a little softer that also did that. You know the copy cat baits ot seems lol all good though.

    That is one benefit of fishing a big ol nasty industrial river; the oxygen doesn't die off and make the fish lazy as you approach fall like it does in a lake or pond. Summer fishing is usually only hot instead of hot *and* nonproductive if you're in the river.

      @tacticalbassin good to hear I got that rod several weeks ago only tried it out so far on lighter Cranks like z1 and z2 didn't realize it would be versatile enough to get that high on weight will try it out with some top waters next. Thanks.

    Hey, just curious. when you guys do braid to leader.How long do you make your leaders?

    • @Psilo33__
      @Psilo33__ 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on the technique, and the angler. Most people I know use around a foot to 18 inches of leader. But I know other people who use feet of leader.

    • @themailman9686
      @themailman9686 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah it definitely depends on the technique, but I’m one of those guys who use feet of leader. I typically use 4-5 ft

  • @unf8able01
    @unf8able01 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I am about to switch over to braid and was wondering if the package says 10 lb braid 4 lb mono equivalent does that mean I can use a 4 lb leader?

    • @darkhorsefive0
      @darkhorsefive0 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It means the diameter/thickness of the 10lb braid is the equivalent of the diameter/thickness of 4lb mono.

    I'm struggling fishing this lake that has 99% hydrilla just right underneath the surface. I fished the areas that look most fishy and came up with nothing. Throwing a frog by lily pads mixed with tules. I just dnt kno where to fish or how because of all the hydrillas.
