This looks amazing. Just a tip I have. I helped a friend redo their mobile home we also took the strips off. The tip would be to use a caulking gun the caulk goes into the seams better. Thanks for sharing. It really looks so good and comfy.
Thanks for that I need to redo mine too. Do you just use caulk or do you put the plaster in the gun?
@@djf57 I just used caulking but plaster may work.
The problem with caulk is you will see distinct difference when you paint. The caulk will look different from the rest of the wall

The strips come off then you can mud over a strip of mesh a couple coats. Its like they were never there! I sheet rocked the livingroom before figuring that out lol. Big difference.

You can also just paint them and it won’t look broken up👍🏻😁‼️will be more cohesive to the eye

Yes. Paint the coffee table. Honestly though, sofa covers have always frustrated me. They’re never tight fitting enough and give a drop cloth vibe to me.

I am in awe that you were able to do this in a week WITH your babies around! Mine are teens, but I remember how busy those days were. Beautiful transformation! Oh, I am getting an edger tool the next time I paint, that looks so much easier and I am actually pretty good at free hand painting.

We finally got rid of the fake wood paneling in our home. Plastered the cracks and painted. Looks like a whole new home crazy what paint can do.

One of the best things you can do in a trailer especially if you own it is a high efficiency HVAC unit and abandon the original square ductwork that trailers have because the way they put the ductwork together at least the majority of the one's I've worked on is they're never seam sealed with mastic tape from the factory and even though the ductwork is above the insulation the loss of heat and air is being lost into the area between insulation and bottom of the floor , instead of all of it going into the rooms. I lived in a 97 that had so much air loss that during the summer our dog's would dig under the underpinning to lay under the house. I tried regular foil tape but because it was so bad I abandoned the square ductwork and built round ductwork and the bill went from 300+ to about 140 during the summer. Most won't make the change because the if the belly insulation of the trailer is in good shape they're convinced nothing is being lost but that's just not true, that's why alot of trailer's have that infamous whistle when the air comes on. We we redone ours it was quiet afterwards. If you really want to save a few bucks a light uv tint on bedroom windows.

You're a trend follower. You are very obviously an IKEA-do-it-yourself-er and that's not much of a compliment and more of an insult. My very large and bold tip; IF YOUR GOING TO DO SOMETHING TO YOUR HOME THAT IS MEANT TO BE PERMANENT GET THE RIGHT TOOLS AND RESEARCH IT.

Kelly, you did a great job especially since you did everything yourself, but it definitely would have looked better if you had gone with a dark gray or a medium to dark blue covers...grey is a cool color and the linen is a neutral color and its really noticeable with the white beadboard, still great job

Hey there! The strips in the mobile home is what helps support the Sheetrock on the walls. I have rental properties that are trailers. I wanted to take them down but was told that info. Love watching ya girl!
@@CM-wf2uo // I may be crazy, but I personally like the strips. It gives it dimension. Hey, that's the way I look at it and it's good to know they were added for a reason. I have a few properties and always leave the strips, but paint... Oh yes, makes a huge difference.

I think the wooden rocking chair crammed in the corner needs to go. I wouldn't put in coffee table in this space the way you have it set up, its too crowded. Otherwise you did a great job.
Yea we just have no where else for it to go. Don’t want to get rid of it bc it’s my great grandmothers, but I agree it does over crowd that area a bit. We just have no where else for it to go lol

As a retired PROFESSIONAL INTERIOR DESIGNER; THAT RUG'S WAY TOO SMALL! IT LOOKS LIKE A TINY, 'Postage Stamp', in THAT ROOM!!! Rug should go under the SOFA'S FRONT legs! ALWAYS USE A CARPET PAD UNDER AREA RUGS!!!! (Tip:. Cut a length of PVC PIPE, the TOTAL length of sofa cushions. Tuck down into the back of cushions to keep slip covers in place!!!! 'NO CHARGE', LOL !!!!).....

I totally agree with you about the wall strips...I'm going to be purchasing a manufactured home in the near future and THATS 1 PET PEEVE I HAVE WITH ALL MANUFctured homes...those damn wall strips and ugly BROWN trim everywhere....you nailed it!!!!
