Love painting these mobile home walls and making them brighter. Great job. If you're ever feeling "extra", you can add some shadows under the sharpie to give the shiplap more "depth" ^_^

Finally! I live in a 2008 mobile home. I hated it at first m but these last 3 years I worked to make it my own. I haven’t tackled the kitchen , because, well, I’m disabled. Painting the cabinetry is just not something that’s going to happen. Appliances have been updated a new faucet has been installed, and thanks to a water heater leak, new floors are being installed this week. Best of luck. I haven’t seen a makeover channel that’s tackled a mobile home.

We used to live in a mobile home and when we redid the rooms we painted the ceiling white. It made a world of difference and made the room so bright and open. Just an idea for you as you’re redoing. It all looks so good!!

So blessed and proud of you girl !!!! I lived in a very beat up mobile home and a very old beat up house. I worked very hard to make them look clean and homey. Paint is my best friend !!!! My kids tease me about losing square footage cuz I paint so much !! 😁
One suggestion... I removed the cheap stained glass from my hutch/cupboard and put plain clear glass in. Looked so much better and not too expensive. Enjoy the home you are creating

Kelly, I noticed the glass-fronted upper cabinet. My double-wide had that also. I primed the glass, then added beadboard wallpaper and painted everything white. It looks so bright now and the beadboard gives it a farmhouse look. I did it 5 years ago and it still looks great.

Beautiful room. Very thorough prep work. Nice job! However, you spackled the holes. Chaulk is shiny, rubbery and used to fill gaps between walls and trim. Spackle is sanded chaulk is smoothed and allowed to dry (not sanded).

I remember when my husband and I were first married and our first home was a mobile home. I also remodeled some of the rooms with paint and wallpaper. We never changed the flooring because I inherited my grandparents small 2 bedroom and one bath home. We completely renovated it. I think of things now I wished I had done. You are doing a great job. Keep it up.

It’s so funny that you did this. I just found out about the sharpie shiplap a couple of days ago from a farmhouse Facebook group. Kelly, I have vinyl plank in my home, I love it, my one regret is that we didn’t do it all. I have recently had a bad water heater leak and insurance is paying for new flooring in the kitchen and my bathroom. The two rooms that didn’t get the vinyl flooring. It turns that the flooring we put in the rest of the home is no longer available. So we are trying to figure out where to go from here. I’m determined, it will be beautiful. Perhaps real tile. Stay tuned.
Just found this and love it. My kitchen is all dark flooring and dark cabinets. I want to paint it all white.
Just a suggestion, for a crisper look you should iron the table runner and add some homemade baking for presentation in the cake plater thingy, also you should replace the yellowed smoke detector, otherwise awesome job ❤️😉👍🏼🇨🇦

Smoke detectors need to be replaced every 10 years for safety.
We use Dollar Tree clear cutting mats to slide between the wall and the trim or trim/ceiling, trim/floor.
I would recommend using paintable flexible caulk for the vertical strip areas so when your home settles the vertical gaps do not crack.

They always put such cheap light fixtures in mobile homes. I changed my out. Got great ones from garage sales and thrift stores.
