This is what we did years ago. Sold our house, paid off our cars. Started doing Dave Ramsey like real hard! We did not have school loans, credit card debit, etc. we were just were living outside of our means at the time. Your videos bring back memories for me. We bought a 900 sq foot trailer. It was bad! We completely renovated it. Like new cabinets/ completely gutted bathrooms etc. we touched every square inch. All while preg with my second child and working full time! We were more proud of that trailer than anything we’ve ever had because it was our way out of the rat race! That allowed us to save for 52 acres with a Reno house. Our dream! My husband and I still live beneath our means and that ok!!!! We are not trying to keep up! Its all about contentment. 💕 Just know I’m proud of what you’re doing! You’re awesome!

From someone who just purchased a home, I was so discouraged with the amount of money needed to make the home more me and watching your videos has inspired me to be more realistic in my plans and not try to match what I see on tv or other youtube channels. Yes!! Just started renovating a 99 doublewide and it's our dream come true in this hellacious economy. People don't understand how hard it can be...no need for the shame and perfectionism. I feel completely and totally blessed by my mobile. If you live in one, take pride in it every day and it will love you back just as well as any "real" house would.
I love small homes, we have a one level ranch and I love it! Its manageable, less to clean and easy to maintain. I love new homes and they are gorgeous but at the end of the day if God has blessed me with a roof over my head I will take care of my home and be grateful!

You did a great job! We have outdated cabinets and countertops, and some family members have made rude comments. Right now, we can't replace all of these things. I might consider painting our cabinets, but I am nervous. I think your home is beautiful, and I know it's hard work. A few months ago, I painted our entire bedroom, the woodwork and the doors within the bedroom. It took me two weeks of vacation, because I have chronic pain. Right now, we can't pay someone a lot of money to do the work for us. I applaud you!
The outside might look outstanding but once the doors are closed who's to say they are happy to tell you the truth some of us who live in a smaller house 🏠are trailers are probably the happiest because we don't have to put up a front not to say all the people who share their beautiful homes aren't happy maybe we are just a little bit more grateful 💗

Omg!! Literally got done watching merinas hallway makeover and saw this was posted 33 seconds ago and clicked so fast!🤣 it turned out BEAUTIFUL!!! I bet your mom gets so happy when she is getting ready for the day now! I love the shelves and all of the decor! I remember growing up we had green carpet in the bathroom of our trailer! Back then it was just how they did the trailers! We even had the carpet around the tub lol. It really looks so good and I can never get over how well the countertops come out everytime!

I’ve done it sooooo many times! If you don’t like it, try it a different way. It’s only paint, remember. I’ve told so many others how to do this and they all say that as they went, they got into their groove and had so much fun with it! Give it a go! 👍🏼
Plus if you didn’t like it just paint over it
Huge transformation. If you paint the golden doorknobs in black & the cabinets hinges white, it would take it a step higher. The counter top came out fabulous- wow!!
In the future, you can add a wide wood frame to the bathroom tub mirror & it’s going to look really high end. 🤗

Yes! Also, being more minimal with my belongings has helped me so much with being happy with what I have. It’s so relaxing not to be overwhelmed with too much stuff and clutter.
You should never be embarrassed about your home....instead be proud of what you have made it. I've lived in a mobile home and, yes, you can do anything to them you can do to any other house. I admire your resourcefulness. Living below your means is the smart way to navigate life.
I’m old but I look back at our first house which was 1040 square feet and it was my favorite of the ones we’ve lived in! Not that we’ve lived in much bigger but after 50 years of being married, they’ve gotten a little bigger. Anyway, if I could I’d have that house again! It was cozy and just so sweet! Loving watching you do these DIY!❤️❤️👍
I’m in love with this makeover only other thing I would consider is spraying the light fixture the oiled bronze and possibly the door handles? Not sure how the handles would hold up but I made over so many light fixtures like that
I know this isn’t going to help you at all now but for future renovation projects, when you remove those wall strips, use joint compound and dry wall tape. All you do is add a thin layer of the drywall mud, roll the tape over the layer of mud then add a top coat of the mud. Let it dry then sand it then it blends in with the wall perfectly. Dry wall tape is like a thick paper....there’s nothing sticky about it so I’m not sure why they call it tape. Maybe bc it comes in a roll like tape? Idk. Lol. Anyway. Just wanted to share this tip! Great job as always!

You’re going to be so happy to get those new floors. They made all the difference in my mobile home. It. Was like brand new.I highly recommend luxury vinyl plank. Beautiful and indestructible. It’s so true about being thankful for you have and appreciating the home you do have. A few years ago I made a big change. I left Washington State. That town I lived in was the only home I’d known for 40 years. Leaving was so scary. Then when I got to San Diego, the housing I had lined up fell through. I was devastated. I ended up in this mobile home I didn’t want to be in. I was exhausted, depressed, angry and homesick. But I made this mobile home a home. It’s beautiful. It took me three years to get it where it is and I really like it now. I do envy you somewhat though. I wish, I could do all the DIYs you do. I’d give anything. But I’m disabled so I need help with these things and finding that help isn’t easy. They all say, of you can get by with that, you don’t a change it! Well yea, but I want to change!

Hi, thank you for telling me that information about your home because I feel the same way basically looking at all these TH-cam people with their beautiful homes and I try to make that happen in mine but I know it’s not and I really try to be thankful and grateful for everything that I have. You are an inspiration because I have a mobile home and it was built in or put together and 92 or 96 and the your counters and everything look just like mine even the knobs. I did paint the front of the cabinets in the kitchen the ones down under the sink I painted the countertops in both bathrooms but they still didn’t turn out too good they were a green color in the bathroom. You are truly an inspiration so thank you.

Omgoodness, Kelly, I had just said this right before watching your video. Be satisfied and grateful for what we have! I watch ALOT of these types of videos and those "nicer" homes are in debt. They buy things show them on their videos with the price tags on, so at my old seasoned age, I know they are returning these things after the videos. You be proud of what you have!

They also have a diy refinishing for tubs that you can use. There is a girl on TikTok that had used it several times.
They make appliance epoxy spray on. I an doing my sink this week.

My friend and I did the same thing to her cabinets. We bought wallpaper off of Amazon and covered all her cabinets in her double wide. It looked great and cheap and easy without paint.

You should be able to use Rustoleum appliance epoxy on the tub. It’s less than $15 for a quart sized can. They also sell one that is meant for tubs and shower, but it is more expensive. Look up tutorials!

Hi Kelly, I'm binge watching all of your videos. I have heard there is some "paint" you can use on sinks & tubs to refurbish them/change the color. I don't know if they still have those weird textured tubs in manufactured homes like they did in mobile homes but it might be something that you could try considering your diverse diy skills. I've seen it done on TH-cam, never in person. Thank you for taking us along on journey of renovating your home, wish I was in a position to own a home - rent costs are more than a house payment. Good for you for taking on this masterful overhaul, it's been a pleasure to see what you have done : D
