Make sure to add Canada and Trudeau to the list!

Thanks for your input! Would you point to anything in particular to justify Canada being on the list? This was a tough list to put together and I appreciate corruption can found to some degree in most societies.

@@Curious-World-io I can't believe it is stupidity, so much as corruption. Trudeau's government shovelled out well over $20 billion in taxpayer dollars to foreign miltinationals (Volkswagen a convicted "climate" criminal, Stellantis, and Honda) to build battery plants in Ontario. Allegedly to save the world from climate change. While it is not unheard of for western governments to give generous tax breaks to foreign multinationals to woo them into setting up a plant in their jurisdiction, this is quite different. We (the taxpayers) are paying for the actual construction of these plants and are in the process assuming enormous financial risks. We also have a vaccine plant in Trudeau's riding in Montreal that was given $1 billion taxpayer dollars to save us from Covid. The plant was never built and not a single dose of vaccine was ever manufactured, but all $1 billion of the taxpayer's money is gone and no questions are being asked in the media. Some rather shady stuff happened when Trudeau declared a national state of emergency on completely non-violent protesters in Ottawa, who understandably were not happy with his draconian vaccine mandates. Trudeau fashions himself as a "progressive" social justice warrior and is quite loud about police "racism" when Canadian police arrest non whites involved in criminal activity, but when a mounted police officer trampled a completely non-violent indiginous woman who was over 60 years old and who used a walker and was actually talking to a police officer about how the freedom protesters were not anti-police and were peacefully protesting for freedom, seconds before a cop trampled her and put her in the hospital right in front of Parliament Hill, Trudeau was silent. Then his government froze the bank accounts of Canadians protesting his regime. Interestingly Trudeau's wealth has grown more than what his official salary can account for. It is all very opaque and it would be nice if someone could shine a light on his wealth. Liberals (the governing party) passed stringent "privacy" laws that seem to protect them and their financial dealings. I note since Trudeau came to power folks tied to the Liberal Party are very comfortable in this country, but record numbers of Canadians are using food banks, sleeping in tents, and more than a few have opted for MAID AKA Doctor Assisted Suicide (another Trudeau innovation) due to homelessness, inability to access adequate healthcare and depression. I am not in the same Canada I grew up in and corruption moral and financial has something to do with it.

Thank you for sharing your detailed perspective. You've raised several concerning points about governance and accountability in Canada. It's clear that corruption, whether perceived or actual, can have profound impacts on society. Trudeau's handling of various issues, including government spending and emergency measures, has sparked debates and scrutiny. Transparency and accountability are crucial in any democracy, and it's important for citizens to question and hold their leaders accountable. While Canada may not have made it onto this particular list, your insights shed light on the complexities of corruption in different contexts. Thanks for contributing to the discussion.

@@Curious-World-io Isn't it strange how YT deleted my comment. Beyond pointing out some concerning trends in the less free and more opaque west, the comment was not a personal attack, spam or hate speech in any way, shape or form. But unfortunately you mention certain topics and leaders and your comments disappear on big tech platforms, which really means these discussions are less and less relevant as some well informed points of view simply disappear. Glad you got to read my comment before it disappeared though.

    From INDIA
NEHRU-GANDHI dynasty is synonymous with CORRUPTION .
India's GDP plunged from 4% of Global GDP in 1950 to 1.1% of the same in 1991 .
Liberalization , 1991 onwards , only partly controlled corruption in Central government .
But , Narendra Modi came in 2014 . He has tried hard to eradicate corruption . Now , for the first time in my life , I am witnessing the amazing progress that is possible only when you have a corruption-free government .

It's interesting to hear about the perception of corruption in India and the efforts to combat it. From what I know, the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty has a long history in Indian politics, and corruption has been a persistent issue. The economic reforms since 1991 have brought some improvements, and the current government led by Narendra Modi has made anti-corruption efforts a priority. It's promising to hear about the progress being made and the positive impact of having a corruption-free government. Thanks for sharing your perspective!

Corruption is undoubtedly a concern in many countries, including the United States. It didn't make my list due to the other contenders. Is there anything in particular you would point to, to justify it as the number 1 spot? Always keen to hear from viewers. Thanks for sharing your perspective.

Absolutely, South Africa has faced significant challenges with corruption, and it's a valid point to consider. It didn't make it onto this particular list but it's undoubtedly a country that struggles with corruption issues. Thanks for highlighting it. Are you from South Africa? Would you highlight anything in particular?

    Nigeria should be number 1

    • @Curious-World-io
      @Curious-World-io  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

That's pretty fair. There is a strong argument to have Nigeria on the list or even at number one. Nigeria's challenges with corruption are widely recognized. It is often cited as one of the most corrupt countries in the world due to pervasive corruption across various sectors, including government, law enforcement, and business. Thanks for watching and engaging.

North Korea, definately has a reputation when it comes to corruption. While I didn't include it on the list this time, a strong argument could be made to include it on the list of most corrupt. This was a tough list to decide on. Thanks for bringing it up!

I acknowledge the concerns you've raised about corruption in Canada, it's important to note that my ranking was based on the Corruption Perceptions Index, where Canada is ranked favourably as 170th out of 181 countries. However, corruption is a complex and widespread issue. Your examples highlight significant challenges that Canada faces. While Somalia may rank differently on my list, your insights emphasizes the need for ongoing efforts to address corruption globally. Thanks for sharing your perspective!

I totally agree that corruption exists at some level in England. I find it hard to justify England for the top 10 list considering that the UK is ranked as 159th most corrupt out of 181 countries by the Corruption Perceptions Index. That said, I acknowledge corrpution is worldwide and always keen to hear examples or reasons from someone who has experience of a particular country. Thanks for watching and engaging.

Certainly, From what I understand, the Ukraine has faced significant challenges with corruption in its governance and public institutions. It has struggled with issues such as bribery, embezzlement, and cronyism for many years. The Ukraine is facing some tough times at the moment, but corruption remains a significant concern in Ukraine. Thanks for the mention. Have you or do you live in the Ukraine (or visited)?
