Shibuya is actually a good fishing tackle spot - Sansui, Tackle Berry, and Joshuya. Kanda, on the other hand, has unique tackle stores like Gill, Yamaguchi Ryoguten (and Tackle Berry and Joshuya, of course). The thing is, tho, we don't have any good fishing spot here in Tokyo (Benkei Fishing Club is tough af). I don't drive here - it makes it even more difficult. I've been bass fishing in Japan since the early 80s. It has evolved a lot.
Line slack in Asakusa is a cool little tackle store, full of bass lures. Even had what looked like a baby bass in a fish tank. The owners were very nice too, definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
Awesome vid! I appreciate this info one day when I visit Japan this is the first thing I will do..! 2 new Shimano reels, probably 2 used rods and not sure how many lures I will buy lol 😆 definitely I would go crazy in a store over there.. Thanks for the vid!
I did pretty much what you suggested, but several years ago. I loved my 4wt trout rod so I bought a 6wt for bass. I now have 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8wt composites, 4, 6 and 7wt glass, and my favorite for redeye (the Guad's cousin) the 5wt bamboo rig I built at Mr. Oyster's class in Georgia.
So dope! I wish there were used tackle shops here in the US. Japan is always one step ahead when it comes to fishing innovation lol. Thanks for posting, love the vids!
Awesome video!!! So cool to see the different styles of tackle stores and how different yet so very much the same they can be even halfway around the world. Im sure for a swimbait fan like yourself it was neat to experience the Japanese swimbait culture in person
Absolutely awesome!! Thanks for sharing your Tokyo fishing shop experience. I'm always keen to see what saltwater tackle costs overseas, especially the reels (Daiwa & Shimano primarily). I bought a Daiwa Saltiga from the U.S about 8 years ago and it was 1/2 of what they cost locally here in South Africa.
I live next to Lake Kasumigaura (Japans second largest lake) and the fishing/tackle shops are a plenty out here. About 1 hour outside Tokyo in Ibaraki.
Happy fishing Wednesday I'm new to your fishing TH-cam channel 🎣 I love saltwater pier fishing out her in California my dream is to someday visit Tokyo and go visit tackle shops
Really want to visit Japan one day, visit Tokyo, Yokohama and other cities you can get to using their rail system. One for fishing and two for Pokémon GO, since it’s juiced over there.
DRT's in Japan sound a lot like allocated whiskey in the states I've always wondered if there's a market in the states for a tackle shop that's all second hand gear
Hey man. Thanks for the Video! Really enjoyed it. I'm heading for Japan in October. Do you mind giving me a list of where those shops are in Tokyo? I'd love to visit them.
Could have at least shown us a peek of the saltwater stuff. Some of the lures cross over. I don't really freshwater fish but have some walk the dog lures, crank baits, jerk baits, and even spy baits. Use them all for saltwater bay fishing.
Wish you guys would give out some price comparison, talk about the local vs tourist price ie no VAT tax etc and how that all works if you just want to travel there and buy some reels.
Going from Phoenix to Tokyo those tackle shops must have terrific deals . The flight you took and tackle you bought had to still be cheaper than going to Bass Pro Shops and shopping for gear there . Just so you can get your kids interested in the sport you need to take a second mortgage to outfit them . Freakin shame .
What camera are y'all using to film? GoPro or a DSLR? Btw steelhead fisher man from T.O. i just came back from japan 2 days ago, nice to come across this type of content.
hell yeah japan is the best dude! for the new conquest MD you arent going with the long handle version? or you getting the normal handle version and just switching out the handle with something eles anyway? ethier way that reel is badass and its my next reel aswell. i have a couple antares monster drives but i want the conquest for my big giant baits so i dont wear out the antares
When i buy the new Conquest 300MD i probably will buy the Long Handle version. Feels great in the hand. However i will probably put a DRT Varial handle on it at some point.
That last tackle shop is my local store. The guy at the counter always enjoys conversating with foreign guests.
Know any good shops in Osaka?
@@allenjones2450 TASF Tackle Mart, Fishing Max (Namba), Lure1Ban. :)
Спасибо.
Awesome video! I really want to go to Japan someday myself!
If you continue to work hard, maybe you CAN go!

Those are the greatest lures to catch fishermen!
О, да... 😄

Cool little expose of the Japanese fishing scene, they are after all in fact masters of all things fish,,, -hope you guys had a good time👌
Blown away by the content. Y'all killed it.
Love the video the (sharing fish photos) part made me smile
Seeing Mt Fuji from the train window is priceless.

Great to see what Japan is doing on fishing because we use a lot of there rods and reels.

Loved the video!
That's the store I bought my first bass rod and reel in the 80s
Man i wanna go to japan just for the lures. Cheap as hell too im sure!
Say what you want about "catching anglers", the craftsmanship and action is amazing on their hardbaits.
Tnx master.ito na yung request ko sayo na fishing store sa japan.sana may flea market din about fishing or pingpong store.
Awesome video!!! So cool to see the different styles of tackle stores and how different yet so very much the same they can be even halfway around the world. Im sure for a swimbait fan like yourself it was neat to experience the Japanese swimbait culture in person
That is so sick! So pumped to see more vids!
Thanks Ben! Looking forward to this summers musky videos from you.
Welcome to Japan!
I wish you had enjoy your trip in Japan.
around the holidays they do mystery bags of different price points that are full of goodies.
Man do i want to go! I want to go to their trout stores and get all the area lures i can!

Sansui looks cool.
This is such a great video!
Great video. Your channel is under rated. You should have more subscribers than you do. I’ve been a subscriber for years.
Спасибо за ваше путешествие 👍
That last place was dope. Dude was dressed like he worked at Starbucks but seemed to have a good selection
I live next to Lake Kasumigaura (Japans second largest lake) and the fishing/tackle shops are a plenty out here. About 1 hour outside Tokyo in Ibaraki.
Is there any charters for saltwater fishing??
That was awesome!!
7:42 why jeff smiled and looked away like that 😂😂😂😂
That last store bought some of that guys lures
great video! would love to go to Japan!
i also stopped there!! "lure fishing" - had some crazy stuff
I enjoyed everything about this video. Out of curiosity, any insight on live bait in Japan? I know some other countries use crickets and even maggots.
Happy fishing Wednesday I'm new to your fishing TH-cam channel 🎣 I love saltwater pier fishing out her in California my dream is to someday visit Tokyo and go visit tackle shops
Can you take lures from Japan in carry-on bag through Tokyo security check point?
i got some of my favorite lures from there. cant find them anywhere else in the world either
Bass Fishing World Tour 👍🎣

When coming back to the state , do the lures have to be hookless..
Could have at least shown us a peek of the saltwater stuff. Some of the lures cross over. I don't really freshwater fish but have some walk the dog lures, crank baits, jerk baits, and even spy baits. Use them all for saltwater bay fishing.

Nice vlog! How will the pole make it back on the airplane?
Japan has a weedless spook from rapala I want so bad. But I settled for the live target mouse here

Thanks so much!
Used lures.
that's a new one.
But a good one.
5:46 does the conquest come in any normal non-pimpy gold colors? like black/ grey? I don't want to look like a drug dealing pimp while fishing.
That music is killing me!
I would have paid good money for that pork lure. Bet it would rip em on town lake
Pork lure would definitely kill on town lake. I'll grab a couple for you the next time I'm there!
Very interesting. The idea of a raffle to be able to have a chance buying an item? Strange to say the least.
what app did you use on 8:51?
Wow very cool ! Much better than the bare shelfs at Bass pro
This makes the American fishing scene look boring
It is 🫤
It is, even australia and new zealand is more interesting
Only places that kinda compare would be some of the tackle shops on the Gulf of Mexico I’m sure the other coast too but I haven’t been there😂
The Japanese take fishing quite seriously.
There are 100 anglers per square foot of fishing lakes. They are always trying something new.
sick vid
can you upload more videos of you going to tackle shops
What was that app that converted yen to usd on the calculator?
Tackle shops are vanishing in the UK
EPIC" from IDAHO!
Cool video love the stores….
Is megabass still $20?
Tackleberry carries used and new tackle.
nice😂Did you try fishing in Japan?
What camera are y'all using to film? GoPro or a DSLR? Btw steelhead fisher man from T.O. i just came back from japan 2 days ago, nice to come across this type of content.
After losing rods on flights I now ship them to my destination early and they have always been there on time…so far.
That's a great idea! When we check the rods it's free though. How much does it cost to ship them? Might be worth it.
It is not cheap, haven’t done it in a few years but what does it cost to not have your rods on a fishing trip? Just my 2 cents
Cool video, had to sub

Good post
So awesome!

Brilliant……
Share the shop descriptions so that we can go visit too!
I put the names of the Tackle Shops in the description! Thanks for watching
You lost me when you said bro might resell the rod
Tokyo is craze crowded but clean very little crime
SANSUIは一番好きな釣具屋です
Lots of swim baits
Ontario canada is the best fishin in the world hands down..
dang 1 whole day , id be mad
At least two variations of the venerable Heddon "Crazy Crawler" ( from 1940 ) Not very original, but interesting.
how much did he paid on that raid rod?
the volume of your audio may need checking, nice work though
is it easier to shoplift in the tackle shops in japan then in the usa?
So cool I went to the sansui shop too. It’s a cool shop I got one of their hats.
American: The bass section!
Name a saltwater fish?
American: Sea Bass! And, uhh, other stuff.
Name the firts tackle please? Thanks
