I remember watching the old videos. Haven’t watched your channel much since, happened to auto play into this and it’s great to see an old school type video come back.
Been throwing the cicada topwater lure for years, I love throwing the cicada. Change the hooks to bigger hooks and wait a second or two before setting the hook. Bass hit the cicada hard. Watch your videos for a long time.
jackall chop cut in the large works well on murray cod n barra Jon. yep, floats on its side n depending the retrieve speed will dictate wat the prop does. seen some guys here put the same prop on the bak or have the prop front n bak.
Yo Jon the reply is a spybait which essentially is an underwater spook. In Japan they r huge on vibration playing into bass fishing so the props give off vibrations in the water.
If you watch aps1995fishing’s series “the strong power bait” they do this a ton. Guys practically seduce the bass into the boat it’s crazy. (Its on yt btw)
I made some imitation "dice" with cut pieces of soft plastics and spare skirt strands. I don't know how they compare to the real thing, but every fish that sees it wants it dead.
Jon dont sleep hobby lobby is a banger store, some of the coziest, comforting, little furniture and house items u can get there for a dumb price, every time you go the entire store is 50% off its like a IRL temu bro
love tackle reviews, especially jdm baits, but most of all, i love the memeage to this video. no crazy expensive shots, just good ol review from the boy. miss these types of vids (:
Id rather buy 3 vanford 3000 reels then 1 certate... 95% same quality but u get 3 of them.. I own like 6.. rather own 6 of those then 2 certates.. when i ge a dent in there or some sand i would be so salty if it was a 600 dollar reel aswell.
@@larsvegas1505 I mean I love my certate but only for certain applications so to begin with it doesn't really face that much abuse especially since I designated it only for freshwater. But I do know what you mean, the certate is my only PRICEY reel. All my other spinning reels are the $200 tatulas lol
The scorpion rods are great. The Shimano flagship line is called the world shaula and those are the pinnacle in Shimanos technology for rod making. Wish I sent you or rob a message before you guys came out here to maybe link up and catch some fish or show you guys around Tokyo.
Jon, I met you and the squad back in 2017 during the Googan meet and greet at Cabela’s in SC. I gave you a Shimano baitcaster I got while stationed in Okinawa, Japan. If you still have it, it would pair nicely with that new travel rod! Keep hammering out these bangers!
Jon its crazy I haven’t watched your videos in a while but it feels like yesterday you were doing the swim bait and other tackle unboxings in the basement but I was in middle school then and now I just graduated from college congrats on still killing it
Glad to know you really enjoyed my country where large mouth bass fisnigh is really popular. I do know the lures you shared in this video as they are major Japanese lure maker!
not too much new and unknown stuff for us here over in Germany but it is cool to see that you are still hungry for new and "exotic" lures. Have fun with it and the catch some nice fish
I’ve definitely caught fish on 90% of those lures, lol. Also, as a person with a tackle problem I miss the these old school videos. I remember your old ones.
The cicada lure is awesome I had one and caught so many fish the year they were all out. I casted it right off my line and haven’t seen one in a store since.
Japan is an island nation, so it has a unique fishing culture. When you next visit Japan, please consider purchasing fishing hooks as well. I recommend those from "Gamakatsu," "Owner," and "DAIWA." For a wide selection, major fishing tackle shops like Josyuya, Casting, BunBun, Point, and TACKLE Berry (which specializes in used fishing gear) are great options.
first off new to your channel love it. One thing that would be cool if in the future if you do these videos with the lures from other countries is show a demonstration on how they act in the water
Such a fun video. Loved seeing the crazy lures and also all of the dad jokes and funny references. Can’t wait to see the vids of you fishing with these! #kfns
Hey Jon, that megabass lure around the 16 minute mark is an absolute killer. Almost impossible to find any online or on JDM sites, I’ve been fortunate enough to get my hands on one and they’re so fun and like a cheat code: everything will eat it. Basically a slow sinking top water twitch bait… an absolute blast on BFS or spinning gear. Highly recommend!
Japan should be at least a every 2 year adventure since bass fishing is as popular there as it is here in the states. Some will say it's more popular but I'm not sure about that. Great video.
Karachi is a a twitch bait. Can walk it on the top and can get it subsurface a couple inches and it acts as a jerk bait almost. An amazing lure for river fishing and even pressured bass in urban "concrete" ponds. Have a lot of success in AZ ponds with it
This video reminded me the first time I went to basspro back in 2010. I was amazed. Just like you did I "saved" big money 😂 Here in Brazil things cost 3x more. Great job! Good luck those crazy lures.
Have you ever fished Big Lake in Downeast Maine. I think you would be impressed with it. Also Pocomoonshine Lake in Princeton Is a huge fish with small and largemouths. Nice lakes
I love this stuff! If you love the Sunline Shooter and Sniper you should try the YGK Olltolos (it's much better). Also if you can, try find some of the Imakatsu Javallon Neo's, they are one of the coolest plastics on the market.
I may not know much about JDM stuff but I know a spybait and that segmented one was very cool. Apparently it was a design/technique that blew up over there. I still need to try one some day. Very cool sort of "exotic unboxing" video and I look forward to see you catching with those!
Hey Jon i was wondering if you could do a video like the devils river video but up north and start at the Mississippi head waters or something like that
Japanese tackle videos are some of my favorite content, great stuff.....shopping for tackle in Japan is a bucket list item
sameee

Nice! Thanks for the intel, im pumped to fish with it up in Maine
Cicada lures are great on Aussie natives too. Crazy to see how certain lures work all around the world!
OMFG you have a mustache now!!! No wonder I didn’t recognize you… 😂
The Karashi @16:29 is kind of like a sub surface jerk bait. I caught 20-25 smallies on that exact color in the creek last weekend!
Love this type of video hope to see more
Love that still after all Jon’s success, at the end of the day, he just loves fishing just like us. Keep up the great content brotha!
Japan - Anglers paradise! 😊
Any plans for some musky videos from camp claw this summer?
Oh yea...
That chopcut is the same from the worst fishing lure challenge with one rod!
Cool stuff to be found over there. My son is currently hopping around over in Japan 🇯🇵
I see Japan i hyped…
You must try OSP I-Waver 👌🏽
Those were some cool & unique looking lures, thanks for sharing!
jackall chop cut in the large works well on murray cod n barra Jon. yep, floats on its side n depending the retrieve speed will dictate wat the prop does. seen some guys here put the same prop on the bak or have the prop front n bak.
I’m so jealous you went to Japan. I want to fish there so bad. I thought the lure hall was a really cool video
this video was awsome thanks for showing us.
Jon b how could u forget the chop cut u gave 1rod that lure for the og crazy lure challenges

Dice bait. Haven’t been able to get my hands on them yet, frog man, numba one!
I made some imitation "dice" with cut pieces of soft plastics and spare skirt strands. I don't know how they compare to the real thing, but every fish that sees it wants it dead.
Love the Jdm stuff. Keep up the great work
The karashi is 🔥 great suspending/subsurface bfs twitch bait to mimic those smaller baitfish. Catches not only numbers, but mondos too!
I was so surprised Jon hadn't heard of the Karashi, it is an insanely good BFS lure, I have caught so many fish over the last year on them 😩
Nice lures, I am glad you had a good time in Japan!
Dude, that poison adrena and scorpion rod will be you favorite rod ever, trust me
Jon dont sleep hobby lobby is a banger store, some of the coziest, comforting, little furniture and house items u can get there for a dumb price, every time you go the entire store is 50% off its like a IRL temu bro
That Karashi slays. Catches literally everything.
It's use to be fire untill word got out about it. Now it's not so special.
Love ya sid. Been following you for years and always find time to watch videos when I can
I saw the tackleberry packaging through the bag at the start of the video and got so excited i loved that store!
Its always a good day when Jon uploads
That Cicada lure is IDENTICAL to the MegaBass Grand Siglett. While it has a great top water reeling action, it slays as a place & twitch lure.
uhmm it is a megabass grand siglett.
love tackle reviews, especially jdm baits, but most of all, i love the memeage to this video. no crazy expensive shots, just good ol review from the boy. miss these types of vids (:
How’s the pond doing?
This video was sick!!!! I own a Certate 3000, trust me, you're gonna love it!
Also have one absolutely awesome reel..... was a nightmare getting one in South Africa but was worth the grind....
Id rather buy 3 vanford 3000 reels then 1 certate... 95% same quality but u get 3 of them.. I own like 6.. rather own 6 of those then 2 certates.. when i ge a dent in there or some sand i would be so salty if it was a 600 dollar reel aswell.

YESSSSSSS!!!!!!! I’ve been waiting for an og Jon b video and it’s hear!!!! I miss the fishing reviews.
Hey John that caterpillar on your lid looks like it ready to spin a cocoon😊
Make a video testing some of these!! Those soft plastics look cool, but it would be interesting going after bass with the weirder ones
Agree with many here, the occasional talking head style vlog is nice. Loved seeing some wild tackle!
That was awesome! Thank you.
Steez frogs are so money 🔥🔥🔥

My 1st thoughts were Tom Selleck jr ?😂 Seriously, we have been big fans of yours for years ❤
You should do a video on the deps buzzjet!! Compare the junior to the full size one. The bite on those baits are some of the best ive ever had!
More of these reviews and more in depth please
Glad to know you really enjoyed my country where large mouth bass fisnigh is really popular. I do know the lures you shared in this video as they are major Japanese lure maker!
The goat has posted once again 🤙🏻💯if this can get a heart or a comment from Jon it will make my year!
Love seeing all the JDM tackle. Can’t wait to see fish all of it.
not too much new and unknown stuff for us here over in Germany but it is cool to see that you are still hungry for new and "exotic" lures. Have fun with it and the catch some nice fish
I feel so old the first time I watched you you still hadn't hit puberty now you got a 70s stach thanks for taking us on the adventure bud
You’ll get hooked on that little Megabass Karashi. One of the most fun baits to fish and everything eats it
Dudeee we need a video of you fishing them forsureee
this video made me remeber when I started watching your channel ! great content.
Man you have grown so much since I’ve seen a video of yours! Good to see ya again young man. I always enjoyed your content
I’ve definitely caught fish on 90% of those lures, lol. Also, as a person with a tackle problem I miss the these old school videos. I remember your old ones.
FINALLY. Been waiting on a JDM lure video.
This is the video I was waiting to see what you bought! Nice lures dude !! Make sure you call when ya use them !
The cicada lure is awesome I had one and caught so many fish the year they were all out. I casted it right off my line and haven’t seen one in a store since.

I'd love to hear how the Jackall does!! I have a couple myself. Not that kind though.
Love the new video feels like the old one 👍👍👍

Tactical Bassin Matt talks about the Karachi a lot. 🔥💪🏽🎣
dude!!! please make a video using all of these! would love to see some bass hit these
Jon, you should take a bunch of these to a test pool so you/we can see the action on some of these and other weird stuff in your collection
Glad you had a great trip.
Hey love this kind of content. You use to do alot of these kinda miss seeing these vids. Keep up the hard work.
Reminds me of the old Reviews/Unboxings I loved watching, sick to see this similar vid! Funny to watch you babble for 20-30 minutes
Japan should be at least a every 2 year adventure since bass fishing is as popular there as it is here in the states. Some will say it's more popular but I'm not sure about that. Great video.
Love the videos just amazing!❤❤
Like all your stuff man!!

your my favorite googan you should do a Google Maps challenge please but with salt water lures!!!
That would be sweet!!
The basement unboxings are such classics 😂
Already hyped for the video from the title.
I bought some telascopic rod from Japan. It was a pain in the ass to get it thru customs then back to the state.
This video reminded me the first time I went to basspro back in 2010. I was amazed. Just like you did I "saved" big money 😂 Here in Brazil things cost 3x more. Great job! Good luck those crazy lures.
OGS REMEMBER THE BASEMENT VIDEOS LOVE YOU JON!!!
That shimano scorpion is a gorgeous rod. The red with the carbon fiber ooof
Surprised you haven’t seen the karashi. It’s a popular bfs bait. It’s like a slow sink walking bait, work it subsurface
Dang man! That karashi is a super lure. Those are some sweet deals for jdm stuff.
I love these kind of videos. I’m a lure head myself
should have picked up some chartreuse crankbaits, I hear they're good in blue water
You helped me catch my PB bass, thanks
The Karashi comes in many different models. Sinking and floating along with different sizes
One of the best baits out today!
Love this video. Just OG Jon madness
Yoo Jon the cicada hatch is crazy in northern Illinois. I was fishing for smallmouth in the kish with live cicada. Good free bait all over the trees
damn that stash is EPIC!!!!
Next time you can try to catch giant snakehead in south east asia, it is very popular for casters because of their strength
Have you ever fished Big Lake in Downeast Maine. I think you would be impressed with it. Also Pocomoonshine Lake in Princeton Is a huge fish with small and largemouths. Nice lakes
Make a Japan lure fishing challenge series using these lures
Great purchases. Now I want to go to Japan
I love this stuff! If you love the Sunline Shooter and Sniper you should try the YGK Olltolos (it's much better). Also if you can, try find some of the Imakatsu Javallon Neo's, they are one of the coolest plastics on the market.
Loved it man been awhile since one of these thx bro
Great stuff! Good luck in Maine!
Bass lure work for freshwater Barramundi here in Australia.
Man I miss them days of tackle unboxings in your parents basement. The good ole days right.
I may not know much about JDM stuff but I know a spybait and that segmented one was very cool. Apparently it was a design/technique that blew up over there. I still need to try one some day. Very cool sort of "exotic unboxing" video and I look forward to see you catching with those!
The blades on that spinner bait look really cool.
Hey Jon i was wondering if you could do a video like the devils river video but up north and start at the Mississippi head waters or something like that
