Not only do my knees feel less jammed but, surprisingly, my calf muscles feel less tense. Very interesting lesson. Thank you, Alfons!

I always notice how easily and fluidly you stand up at the end of the lesson - how about some more lessons on moving from floor to standing and back to floor?? please!

Dear Alfons, I've been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease. Which of your videos would be of most benefit, please? I want to do everything I can to help myself.

I had the same diagnosis about 12 years ago, which was shipped with some badly looking x-rays. It was a distressing time in which I could barely get from the bedroom to the bathroom. I needed about 1 year to review all the available literature, listened to hundreds of hours of interviews, and finally came out on top. I didn’t get surgery, and nowadays get by with a minimum of specific exercises. Just last week I did a 6 hour strenuous hike in the alps, without any repercussions the next day. I’m quite amazed myself.
I do teach clients in person, and I believe almost everyone with so called degenerative disc disease can lead a life largely unbothered by back-pain, but the solution needs to match the client, there’s no general recipe.
I remember you already watched a number of my videos… so I’m not sure whether you missed a crucial video or crucial idea/concept… so I don’t know what to recommend other than a private lesson via video-chat online (pm me).
Other than that, the “Getting better day by day” videos and “Tight neck? Here’s help!” videos would be a start to learn from a somatic education perspective. In any case, back-pain must not be a life sentence! I have hope and know from client work and experience that improvement is possible, even in the worst looking cases. I wish you all the best!

@@ImprovingAbility Thank you for sharing such a personal story with me. I really appreciate it and it gives me hope. I will check out the videos you mentioned with the understanding that a person to person session is really necessary for the most accurate and personalized help. I start physical therapy in a couple of weeks and may contact you afterwards. It would be very cool to have a session with you.
