Also something to note around Mighty Car Mods: we are normal guys and are not trained mechanics. We like to make interesting car mods and show you how we've gone about it, but we can't promise that anything we show you will work for your particular car, or that you won't harm yourself, someone else, your car or your warranty doing it. Please be safe, be responsible and unless you know what you're doing, do not fool around with very serious machinery just because you've seen us make it look so easy. Talk to a qualified mechanic if you are in any doubt.
A huge thank you to everyone who has followed this build, and helped us along the way. And a massive thanks to each and every person who has purchased a sticker or a shirt or any merchandise that helps contribute to the show. We're proud to be able to bring you these videos without a paywall or subscription and that's the way its going to stay. Much Respect - Marty & Moog

10/10, now do some skids
Sick build lads
Love ya work boys
Been here since blue Turd and don’t plan on leaving ya! Love from Virginia!
Mighty Car Mods Marty looks like he might of wee'd a bit in his pants when you hit the straight away moog. Should of done a shorts check when he got out.
Oh man, that opening. Oh man, that ending. Oh man, that middle part.
What a perfect summary
6:34
That is how you translate Nissan to English.
That intro was creamier than Cheryl's sauce... good to see the date car out on it's first date, nice man date / mate date there lads and that ending with the revived SuperGramps was just perfect. This build has been my absolute favourite so far, loved the car choice and the way you maintained it's "purity". This is why MCM is so awesome.
This was a terrific build lads. Gorgeous car!
Bad Obsession Motorsport get back to work
This post added a week to binky:(
I hope you were writing this in a tea break otherwise your wasting time :P
You guys just HAVE to get a meeting some day, two epic teams of great guys who make youtube a better place!
Thank you to all four of you!!
Turbo Yoda should build the turbo kit for the mini!
Man, you guys came from building blue turds in a driveway, to making a professionally built car, with an RB26DET and 430HP, as well as with sponsors, and drone footage doing laps on a private track day. Been following for longer than I can ever remember, congrats on the build, guys !
Tabarnacos2 I still don't know....but hey we've been here since the blue turds and red ones and greens ones now we've grown-up to build 😂
Tabarnacos2 I remember the good ole driveway mechanic civic days 😂😭
I'll get ready for the hate but honestly I liked the channel better back then. Both of them were just so relatable. Now with all that TH-cam star fame the projects, while beeing really cool, have lost most of their appeal for me
Tabarnacos2 they came from cutting up a buzz box to make it faster to a super gramps killer
that intro sequence was so goddamn crisp i love it
What a build. What a soundtrack. Respect, brothers.
scanspeak00 they were missing the too sexy song!!!!! Hahaha wish they had a song for each car.
Anyone know what the first song is from 0:00 - 3:49?
Is Moog still making all the featured music in their videos??
yes. Its pretty much part of his portfolio (he posted a few days back that he just finished making the music for some new TV series)
AccAkut1987 what a legend
And this my friends is why MCM is number 1.
it doesn't drift
Of course they are
...until they sell out to a major TV corporation, *ahemmm* MotorTrend
Have you not read mightycarmods.com/blogs/news/who-is-going-to-pay-for-it why would they sell out?
They make good cars but are a cringe fest to watch.
The cinematics in the beginning of this video are KILLER!! Love the Z boys! Time to finish my own😂
And then he never did haha. You still got it in storage?
2200lbs, 430hp at the tire. Incredible.
I just did the math myself haha. I was like holy shat that's amazing. And a bit scary lol.
2200lbs+493 Crank HP=pants wetting speed!
Jess Neal I can understand why Marty was freaking out a little more now
So nominally 5 lbs per hp. That's better than a 2017 Dodge Viper SRT that costs $88k. Hole. Eeee. Shee. It!
Another reference: Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 = 4.96 lbs/hp
So many chills! You guys have done an amazing job on bringing a legend to a whole new level.
car turned out perfect, just the right amount of everything
Supergramps returns!!!!! The 240 build was awesome to watch. The noises it makes was well worth it. And the look on Marty's face when Moog accelerated was priceless.
Lady and the gramp
Hopefully it's not "some bad news"
Michael Bacon marty shit! shhhhiiiittttt!! Can u slow it down. That isn't slowing down😂😂😂😂😂
I couldn't stop smiling this whole video. Thank you Marty and Moog for taking us on this incredible journey.
For all of us here with project cars this is an inspiration. Marty and Moog had so many hurdles but they also have extremely talented mates and a reasonable financial support to work with. Even with all the support this build took a year to finish.
So if you've got a project that you're working on, something that you're insanely passionate about, and it's taking a long time to come together: stay positive and keep your passion alive.
I am so glad I found this, I was looking at restoration of a 240z on TV and I was like, an RB26DETT in a 240z would be so cool, and here we are.
That ending! I literally shouted "aww YESSS!!!" out loud when I saw that 😃
Same..... 😂
Who stared at you afterwards?
i got fucking chills dude, to the return, this is gunna be a battle to fuckin watch!
Lol so do I
I had the same reaction. 😊
You guys bought the car 12 months ago? Felt like yesterday, i think its because how much i enjoy your videos. Keep up with good work guys.
You are both inspirational. Your vision, spirit and passion is a credit to the car world globally! Don’t ever stop, the community needs you!
Beautiful intro, fantastic cinematography, amazing editing and a brilliant project! Thank you Team MCM!
need a driver who can do it justice, someone who can smoke the tyres and drift it
A project Binky video yesterday and this today, it's like a suprise holiday.
How sick will it be, when it's on the road, in 2025 :)
Mike O'Barr project binky!!!! I didn't get a notification
Russell Jones you know TH-cam plays by their own weird rule set.
Mike O'Barr yup, but after watching them you feel like "what's the use of living now then" 😆MCM is the one that gives you a reason though. One can't really sit by the screen and wait for Binky, right...
Benny Lloyd-Willner I quit smoking and changed my diet to make sure I was around to see Binky in all its turbocharged 4wd glory hit the road. I'm 34 so I may not make it anyway but I've got to try.
*_FOUR HUNDRED AND THIRTY BRAKE HORSEPOWER PER TONNE_*
at the wheels..
who cares about the HP cos its all about the torque and the godzilla's make awesome torque numbers
knobs need torque to turn..
Notso Fresh You... I like your style kid
Jep, that is more than for example... a Lamborgini Aventador. On "the interballs" 430hp is not so special, but it is plenty!!
This has to be my favourite build to date (sorry Marty!), absolute dream car. Also, the shots in this video were absolutely amazing! 10 years in the game and you guys are still killing it. Cannot wait to see what is next!
This & Super gramps, best builds ever.
The mini & too sexy are also epic
Marty is something so many of us car people can relate to: A terrible passenger. XD
This...so much this
to be fair.. it's his first ride in something he's spent a year building, i would probably be the same
No worries, I'm not trying to insult him. They often say the best drivers make the worst passengers. :)
That is so true. I freak out as a passenger haha
Glad to see your not getting the same hate here like you do on other people's channels.
I've been watching MCM since the Roadkill special, and this has hands down been the best build. Not only of all your builds, but of any build I've ever seen. Ever. You guys did an amazing job with the 240Z. I will forever point to this build as the definitive example of resto-modding done right. Good work, and cheers from the States.
I have to agree. Almost 40 years of resto-modding Classic American muscle and this whole build was simply amazing.
And unlike road kill who put 30k 9f part on a turd and its still a turf that breakes down on every trip these boys do it properly in the same time scale, for less money and can be a daily
Ah i see what the plate means. Mighty Car Mods (2 3)Ni San Z.
Shhhhh now the others will know
that's actually pretty fuckin clever, i'll give 'em that
haha, if I hadn't become a Japanese anime nerd, I might never have noticed it. :P
Pretty sure that's New South Wales... But the actual plate is really cool! Edit: I am wrong! They are even smarter than I thought!
No you halfwit. 2 is "Ni" and 3 is "San" in japanese.
You guys have come so far, I remember when the show first started. You guys have held true to your ideals and I know that can’t be easy. Especially with how much everything costs. You guys are amazing, you bring the community together and I know we all appreciate your efforts. 🤙🏻
True dat
The car is very beautiful, but that engine bay is a masterpiece. No visible cables, everything is metal (no rubber joints). Congratulations to everybody involved, it's a work of art. It was a true pleasure to watch this amazing machine being built since the beginning until today, it's first drive. Keep up the great work. Congrats from Brazil.
When you build a drift car you show it drifting, when you build a track car you show it on track, when you build a drag car you finish the series with a drag race.
You built this car for date night so... where is the footage?
that footage probably can't be shown on youtube...
Cheryl face reveal?
Alex Kielnecker, now that would be funny!!
Iain xD excellent
Did you not watch the video mate?
Holy crap you can REALLY see this car is fast even on camera. My favorite MCM car so far well done to the team!! 👌
Thank you, Moog, for making this amazing piece of music. I absolutely love the intro song, and can't wait for it to be officially released.
Currently still watching, but damn.
We've learned to expect unbelievable quality from you guys.
And yet, every single time
You manage to exceed our expectations.
Just finished watching. Holy mother of cliffhangers.
Seeing those two cars side by side shows off just how MAAAAD you guys are.
Whoever did the intro cinematography and editing ... chapeau! Great job
I believe Marty and Moog do all the shooting, editing, and music.
It's very strange to say, but I remember watching the first episode 12 months ago, and thinking how cool it would be to have a project. Well, 12 months later I do, how much I have learned from this build and myself in that time is amazing. Thank you MCM, you are incredible!
Bad Obsession Motorsport posted, Chrisfix posted, Hoonigan posted a KnuckleBusters episode, and now this. Today has been awesome for automotive TH-cam
And The Skid Factory :-)
36 minutes of creating a wiper system really could not have been more entertaining.
And the Skid Factory reference!
Seriously, those guys are straight nuts,12 hours to build that piece, gonna be another 20 years before its ready(I will watch every minute though)
And Binky came out yesterday!!!!
I almost cried, this is beautiful
The cinematography and soundtrack on this video are about a million times better than anything I see on TV. What you guys do is amazing!
This is pretty much the ultimate car to me. Historic Japanese styling with the epitome of Nissan engine building and modern suspension all done tastefully. I wouldn’t change a thing if it were my car. Perfection
You said you wanted a skyline in the first place but it got too expensive. I think what you've created instead is way cooler than a skyline.... congrats! Awesome car!
also they already have the Stagea, which kind of is a Skyline... in a way... yeah... :)
It is scary how quickly the last 12 months have gone by, well done guys, she is perfect!
this video must have taken so much work. Thank you guys!
Great feature gents - Well done 🙌🙌
I hope THE-LOWDOWN does a feature article!!!!!!
God, these videos are just utterly gorgeous. Between the cinematography and how far Moog's music has come since I've been watching, not to mention the subtle throwbacks in the synth lines of Uber Star, it's the most amazing thing to see.
Straight crying with that intro guys, crazy to see how far youve come. Cant wait to see where you go!
Super gramps baby!!!!!!!!!
As storytellers, you guys are awesome. The intro music was first class as are you. 👌👌👌
I have watched every single video along the way of this build, and I couldn't be happier to finally get to hear that RB26 do some pulls through the gears. The car sounds fantastic, it looks super fast. Congratulations Mighty Car Mods for sticking with this project, it looks awesome!
What a legendary JDM beast. Big Props To MCM.
Also can't wait what happen next, after seeing the end
So Stoked
Now that's how you end a video.
best ending to date
My thought on seeing that, "I will chop all Nissans".
Will this be the end of SuperGramps, or the start of it's next chapter?
Given Marty's history, he'll brake it... and makes it even more badass :D
MCM needs a bigger warehouse. Great cars should be kept. Drive them all.
Bost2301 I assume that is the already modified version of super gramps, has been working on something for weeks now we have had loads of hints in the videos on both channels.
And I love that you call it “our car”. That means a lot to all the people that helped you build it I’m sure.
Glade to see it come together and so well. Cliff hanger cant wait for next video
Awesome! My dads old stock one was plenty powerful, and stuck to the road like glue... I can't even imagine driving this one with everything you have done to it, except I could only imagine it would be FREAKING MAAAAAD!!!
One of the best feelings in the world is the first time something you built starts. the next best feeling is the first time you can legally drive it. Even if it rattles and shakes, you built it.
I'm building a 1953 Chevy Bel Air right now, and it's ugly, was neglected for years, but it's getting new (old) life. Keep doing what you guys do, love the channel!
Got a smile from ear to ear watching this finally
Yeesssssssss, haven't clicked a video faster in my life
I was the same
The way the turbo screams and the RPM just doesn't stop climbing is gorgeous, well done guys, mad respect
Definitely one of my favourite MCM projects, the perfect balance between stock and modded. Loved the music for this episode as well
"Can you slow down"? Why yes I can, but you didn't say the magic word! =D
*You didn't say the safe word. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Of course I can but why would I want to?
Just watched the fake turbo video, made me want to come back and watch this. What an achievement this channel is. Never change fellas.
The two best cars you guys have done at the end there, awesome.
All of your videos are great... But this one really makes me smile! And thats what its all about. To the 72 (so far) who gave this video a thumbs down, your lives must really suck.
This is one of the highest quality TH-cam videos I've ever watched. Most of it looked like a cutscene from a video game, it was fantastic
Congrats guys on getting the old/new girl on the road 😁. Has been an absolute pleasure watching the transformation and so keen to see what you have in store for us. Keep up the great work guys 😁
240z is the greatest vintage Japanese car ever.
Nah, Celica TA22
Hakosuka ;-;
old corrola's are pretty cool too
and mazda's RX series
and old toyota crowns
Invincible Extremes Muscle Cars Garage nope, Toyota 2000GT.
Mazda Cosmo, Just saying
Marty's initial reaction on that first pull is just priceless. Well done guys! Well done.
That's very close to the amount of power the Rotsun has, only this is built to handle it.
And in a chassis....that has 100% less rot :P
ManWithBeard1990 the Rotsun is living on borrowed time, pushing over 500 to the wheels that 302 block is a ticking time bomb...granted I have seen one pushing 911hp for 4 years
Every engine the Rotsun has had, has been living on borrowed time. I think that is kind of the point of it :P
If only there was a way to put them side by side, match made in heaven ... or hell depending on how the rotsun decided to run ....
Guys this battle needs to happen. Fairlady vs. Rotsun vs. Supergramps
Bro,c'mon...we NEED that intro song! Just wow
congratulations moog for getting your dream car, so many of us dream of this but you've done it, i wish you nothing but years of happiness and clear roads in your future with this car
Goddamn, one of the best Japanese engines in one of the best looking Japanese classic...
Thank you MCM for making such an insane combo come to life and entertaining us all while doing it
*English isn't my first language so apologies for bad grammar :D
CONGRATULATION guys, finally get to see the Z being driving around.
I like how it isn’t way over done.. in my opinion this is one of the most tasteful builds on TH-cam rn
its amazing to see a dream come true after a year of hard work great job guys !
Quite possibly the most beautiful video you two blokes have ever made 👊
My favorite build out of all your projects. But maybe cuz I’m partial to Datsuns
Next time on mightcarmods, Marty sees tail lights 😂
Kova I guarantee Supergramps would smoke that thing in a straight line... if it didn't break.
nathenandrew I didn't say who was racing what
, you know moog he'll have a r35 on standby Nissan life hehe
Kova Marty beat an r35 at the drags
So glad to see it complete, so sad to see the journey end
The 240Z is one of my favorite car forever and ever, This one is the best I have seen, not too madly tuned just the perfection.
I totally love what you have done in these 12 months.
That ending though holy shit!
Wow I can't believe it was a year ago that you went and got the fairlady! Time's just flown!
You guys broke my heart with that introduction. Such an epic journey with one hell of a car.
Jesus christ supergramps looks so huge next to the Z. also you need to give it a name!
And that generation of Legacy (Liberty) is way smaller than the current one! If you had a brand new one you could almost put the damn Z in the back.
a S30 is even smaller than a SF Forester :D
how about "Z-Brah" :D
Well, they've been calling it "S30-240-260-280-Datsun-Nissan-Fairlady", I think they should stick with that %)
Skylady!
SuperGramps!
later grampa
It's been an honor watching you guys build this beast. Can't believe its already been a year, time flies!
Verrrry nice gents. I have an idea for a cool episode to do with this car when it's fully dialed in: do a real review. 0-100 time, quarter mile, stopping distance, etc. Maybe get a few performance cars together & have the same driver lap each one.
320 kw into 1000kg = 3.5 lb / hp, just a tick better than the Bugatti Veyron, which is 3.7 lb / hp. Just for comparison a C-7 Corvette is 5.11 lb/hp and the 5th Gen WRX STI is somewhere in the neighborhood of 9 lbs per hp.
😲😲😲 oh snap!
I think you either got your units of measurement wrong or the math wrong. If your going lbs/hp its actually 5.14lbs/hp. 320kw is 429hp and 1000kg is 2205lbs when rounded to the nearest lb and hp. Either way its still impressive seeing as its not a stripped out track car
Flame Beats agreed. I tuned mine, bigger injectors, intakes, some other small engine mods and some cosmetics and it's pletny fast for me
Flame Beats I just recently put a g-plus 19 row cooler, dual ISR exhuast, and headers as well. Sounds beautiful, VQ's are probably my favorite sounding v6
Brandon Sargent I'm no good at math, but give me some shits and giggles here, my truck has about 320hp and weighs 3,750lbs.
Thanks MCM I imagine that like many other people, they get in touch with you to tell you how great you are, but I must thank you because your videos make me reflect a reality that I would like to fulfill one day, you are my source of inspiration, I've been following you since 2014, I missed your beginnings, but I'm very happy that day I found your channel on TH-cam, thanks to you with your videos I've laughed, I've been excited, you've made me feel because I like the world of mechanics and the cars, and unfortunately, I had to leave my mechanical studies, but I watch your videos, and they make my life happy, thanks to you I have been able to move forward, they saved my life from a depression that was about to let me go to the sky, and hopefully some could go to an event you organize, but I live in Spain, but I know that one day I will go, you are incredible, never change, because you are great, you saved my life somehow, and I can only thank you, you are BIG thanks also for giving me back my passion for cars, thanks for uploading videos!
I know it's hard to read this, but even so I just wanted to thank you for your work! :) I know that someday I will come to fulfill the dream of doing what you have done with the 240z, and I know that if I propose it, I will achieve it, I will apollo in you, that you are a source of inspiration for me.
Finally, I apologize, I do not know English, and I had to translate this in Google.
Infinite thanks!
Marcos.
Supergramps is back, baby.
Welcome to the best video ever made
Dang I can't believe this took a whole year. Loved the build, you guys are legit the best car channel on youtube!
It is kinda ironic that they spent so much time trying to make it so it is street legal, and the first drive is on a closed track.... Still love it, great car. Can't wait to see what is next.
Brutal Fates easier to shoot on and to enjoy the drive without losing the license.
Not really, every new car design in existence spent time on track first. This car is so highly modified it is in essense a major new variation.
That is what I was about to comment. The only way to fully enjoy the effort
the sound of it oh my god
The music, the tone, the quality of production, this video is amazing. Add in an amazing set of hosts, a wonderful cast of friends, and a solid story, and this video is astonishingly good.
Thank you guys for an amazing adventure and thank you for being fantastically talented and awesome people.
I want someone who can swear at me like Marty swears at Moog.
Nickk IRL take my mother in law 😂😂😂
*PURITY*
puberty
It makes me wonder what Martin will do to get back at you on it Moogster - that (whatever he does) would have to be absolutely epic...
But THAT RIGHT THERE is solidly DIAMOND M8's, thank you for taking us all along on the ride with you!
The car and what you have done with it brings tears of total joy to see it
Your M8 in the States, Dutch J
*500hp per ton. Let that sink in folks.*
Man O War not many modern supercars come close
TRUE!! I think that's Bugatti Veyron Power:Weight
Awh hell yeah it’s 3am where I am saw the notification and jumped outa bed and started watching!!
Scuffed Garage yup
Same
Danny best thing to do at 3 am!
Well... i dunno it's high on the list.
5am here in Brazil
Music, editing, story, everything just hits you right in the feels. I had to pause and collect myself from all the excitement! Epic video
Look after the car..in 10 years project binky will be complete....you to should meet up and have a race.
jamie jempson I think Binky wont be done by the next century because of all the massive overengineering xD
At least there was a new video on the 80 hours of labor to get the windscreen wipers put in.
That would be awesome.
HAHA!
mrthesquid and there will be 1235 hours to get the wiring loom installed
I knew Marty would break out SuperGramps =)
emphasis on "break"
super gramps just waiting his turn
*dumps the clutch, breaks all the axles* 😂
Its been an incredible journey from an old shed in Japan to the track and I've loved every second of it, even the details of getting registered and insured. Its been epic and I am so glad you guys had the opportunity to do it, I'm looking forward to what comes next but one thing is certain, it will be amazing! Thank you guys for all you do
So much Work. Even more reward.
