I do have airmanager I also have a physical overhead with switches and leds. I once owned prosim737 as the core software for my switches but I could not use the pmdg with it, prosim had a subpar version of the 737 they made you fly. So I eventually moved away from prosim and went to airmanager and i love the variety of gauges to choose. I then purchased a virtual cdu and stumbled upon the msfs pop out manager to display my nd on. I'm currently learning to program my overhead with the pmdg and spadnext, which can be a difficult software to master. I recently was able to program 1 switch correctly with spadnext so hopefully I can get the overhead running with a great airplane. But I love the idea of a virtual overhead if the touchscreen works well to flip the switches and isn't glitchy, or just double it up to see the electrical panels and analouge gauges that I do not have. Grass is always greener but actually I wish I could have both side by side as a virtual overhead seems really neat.😅
Hi, I am struggling to make Air manager work in the way I want. I am looking into getting a 24" 1920*1080p touchscreen for the overhead in Portrait mode. And then turn the monitor in portrait orientation, to run it like that. But I cannot figure out how to turn the panel (rotate the panel) to fill my non-touchscreen 2560*1440p (same aspect ratio) for a test to see that it works. How do you turn the panel so that it perfectly fits a screen? In my case I would be looking at the panel sideways, but if I turned the monitor to its shorter side, I should be able to see the full overhead from top to bottom. Help :) :)
Ha! One just needed to change the orientation of the display resolution itself. Now I got it to display normally. Did you solve those couple of items on the OVHD that don't seem to load properly with the Zibo mod? ALTN flaps, EEC control cover... just a few that I noticed immediately.
@@teropa79 hiya, the only thing which I have a bit of trouble with (on the air manager overhead panel) is the rotary dials on the touchscreen (not very smooth in their rotation). But In general terms it performs perfectly and I’ve been really happy with it
Ah thanks for the feedback. I enjoy using it for flight immersion / working through checklists…even if it’s not the same as button pressing and toggles switches! A good work around if on a budget or without competence in wiring up a proper unit. They definitely do an A32NX panel. But not sure about the B777 or A350…
Wow love your setup..we are currently working out a build ..and loved the idea of the touchscreen overhead. Are all your screens touchscreen?…also do you use a knobster to turn the dials?..just trying to figure out how it all works…do you use airmanager to run all dials and the overhead? Thanks and well done on an awesome build
Cheers Sean, I haven’t flown so much over the winter - but was in there last night and it is a cool project if you have a love for this sort of thing. The overhead is my only touchscreen - apart from the tablets running the CDU’s and the one I use for the aircraft EFB tablet. I do also have a FlightSimPM overhead panel mounted, but it’s an output box only and doesn’t have the annunciators of the real thing - and at the time I couldn’t justify £2,000 on a complete overhead panel. Very happy though with the touchscreen overhead solution… from time to time I use the FlightSimPM one just to get the use of the rotary switches etc. I did look at Knobster, as it would help with the rotaries on the air manager touch screen, but because it’s mounted above my head I thought it would be fiddly. So I have Touch portal on an iPad - that is linked with the overhead and controls the rotaries. I just find it easier that way. Hope that helps a bit and good luck with the build. Dan.
@@GarageAviation015 awesome, you should really do a full overview of the entire setup explaining where you got each part and whats running it and things, be really interested, the sim looks great!
Hi it’s 27inch…..Exact model is a ELO ET2794L E331401 - Open Frame 27" Multi TouchScreen - TouchPro PCAP 10 Touch. I’m very happy with it actually, was a little concerned how it would perform upside down! But so far it’s been excellent and although a little smaller than RL OH panel size, it’s pretty close
@@GarageAviation015 Great video! I just got an ELO 31.5" for the same purpose and I'm wondering how you mounted your monitor above? Did you build a custom solution?
@@chrisdemaria6619 thanks Chris. Yea I had to spend some time in the garden building a frame for it to sit on. It’s heavier than I’d imagined and didn’t work with the initial plan that I had. Basically four uprights drilled to the ground and then two cross beams measured so that the ELO can sit on top and the beams only obscure the frame of the screen….hope that makes sense
Hello Raymond. It looks like they do - siminnovations.com/community-panels It’s not one of their premium (pay for) panels - so you might need to have a look at it. But in theory I would imagine it would perform the same way as the 737 Zibo overhead panel

Very nice! Even with the use of AirManager, does this negatively affect performance (frames per second) since it involves another screen?
Can you tell me what your touchscreen is and model?
Make and model of the monitor. Please and thanks.
Going to get the Airbus version
Hi, can the rotary knobs be controlled on the touchscreen, or is a knobster required. Thank you
Hi. A long time since this went live, but i am trying to buikd overhead panels using the same approach....any advice appreciated. 😊
Hi, I know this is old but where
Did you find a touch screen for 150 bucks for a 27"? Thanks
Can you make a video of how to configure the overhead panel with Air Manager pls?
Hi, is this overhead panel also works for pmdg 737 800 in msfs2020? Thanks 😊

Really really cool, is there also a custom overhead panel, as well as the main panels with the PFD and ND for the B777, A320, or A350?

any free alternative to popup overhead to another non touchable monitor ?
