Great idea using a piece of foam like this. I'll probably use it for my little build since I'm looking for something cheap and quick. I just got my Arduino to talk with FSX so now I just need to build the panels.
You can build your own expansion cards for the pokeys leds. You need one cheap chip called the ULN 2803 for every 8 leds. The chip switches the ground side of the led so you run your power to all the leds and then one wire back to the chip.
wow... this is looking amazing for being only printed... you could maybe do even lighting switches if you get a switch for 2 in/outputs and do a led circuit. Then put a Led behind the display for the switch and light it up D:
Hey , you can buy the knobs easy from ebay.On ebay they called Davies 1510 and they are different coulers and white whith a black line for only 5 cent more
No, there is no handbook because it depends on your interface boards. I mostly use OpenCockpits. But other cards are different in regards to how many switches that can share GND.
@@BuildaBoeing okay but for me, I'd like to get a laser like the k40 chinese then build panel from myself but first, I can't get measurements and then I don't have that perfect knowledge about that.

Great Job and you show how a little work can make a great looking overhead. I converted the PDF to a JPEG and got Walmart to do a poster size so I don't need to cut it all up $19 the switches are not so cheap, but I can do a few at a time. What was the card you mentioned to allow LEDS ?
New to all of this, but reasonably handy. Am a general contractor with engineering background. Just in the pre-planning stages now. What are you using as an interface between the pokeys and the pc? Hi Mad great project on your cockpit. I'm not sure if all the buttons are still work if you push them up to 100 times because material you wrote here foamalux/plexiglas looks like what germans call Styropor and its not a strong material. do you buy or download prosim 737
