This is wrong technique to remove carbon side plate ...firstly u have to remove d cutout ..d way u did carbon of d cutout will break luckily dis not happen to u ......but fan of ur technicsl knowledge
I believe he says you should first remove the voltage regulator assembly which has the carbon slip ring brushes. Often the brushes break if you don't remove first. In your case assembly required replacement anyway. Thanks for sharing.

Funny, we never saw the alternator being tested for voltage and current regulation and with a full load. Funny about that.
