    This is part 24 of my ongoing Porsche 924 Restoration. In this one I'm rebuilding and restoring my alternator. Note that, if you're working on the same one, make sure to be really careful with the bolts and screws as they easily strip. Also, wanted to mention that my slip rings had a decent amount of wear, which is not ideal, but it is beyond my skill set to replace that. I'll try to find one in a better condition. One final thing of note is that I'll be replacing the pulley nut and its lock ring with a self locking nut as I've heard lock ring might lose its properties once electroplated.

    What did you use for blasting the aluminium?

      Same thing I use for all my metals... where I live we only got one type of medium. It looks like black sandpaper particles. If I want something more gentle, I use soda blasting.
