    Good tips, Tim. GoPro overheating is a brutal part of recording in the warm weather.

      Hey mate, it totally is! It gets pretty hot here in Summer - especially in a vehicle - and as good as GoPro's are, heat is definitely not their best friend! Hopefully these tips will come in helpful. All the best to you and your channel, mate.

    I am in Indonesia under the hot sun at the beach. Today my GoPro 12 just autoshut itself by 10am. Quickly, I removed the battery and put in it airy condition. Think I'll just have to downgrade all my settings to suit the hot weather here.

      Hey Daniel, Thanks for your comment. Yeah, GoPro's arent big fans of direct sunlight. If they do overheat they will shut down to protect your camera and all the precious equipment that they contain. In a hot weather climate it is important to have air circulating around the GoPro and I hope your GoPro cooled down a little after you placed it in a cooler environment. You may not need to necessarily downgrade your settings but just by keeping your GoPro in an environment where it has that circulation will probably be all you need. Thanks for watching and all the best in your lovely country. I'm a big fan of Indonesia - I really love Lombok.

      Hey mate, yes, I got the silver play button, but I don't feel comfortable hanging it up, yet. Maybe when I get to 200k. Lol

    I had a 10, never overheated once using different presets and in 90 degree weather. "Upgraded" to the 12 and first one I received produced crazy shaking video, warranty replacement and last night tried it will fishing, 75 degrees, and it overheats and was running super hot. My understanding was they had fixed the overheat issue??

    • @AdventureTimMedia
      @AdventureTimMedia  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey @elknrut ! Thanks for your comment. Really interesting to hear you had no issues with the 10 as that was one that I've heard had a lot of overheating issues in the past. Just wondering, were you using the same settings on the 12 that you were on the 10 ? The overheating issue, from my experience, has lessened on the 12 compared to the 9.That was a hot mess when I first got it. Did you try any of the tips in the video ?
      Sorry to hear you've had a hard time with the 12. I would normally check the hypersmooth settings if I had the shaking issues - to see if it was 'on' - and then check to see if it needed an update. Do you have a gopro subscription? You can try sending it back for a replacement if that's the case ? Hope this helps.

      @@AdventureTimMedia Thanks for the reply. Logged a lot of hours on the 10 and never once did it overheat. The shaking on my brand new 12 was deemed a defective issue and they replaced it after lots of time spent discussing it. I used it in Hawaii and never had it run hot but had the shaky, violent shaking, video. The replacement 12 overheated on first use in 78 degree weather. Same settings etc....the only difference was I am using a 512gb card in the 12s....I will try the 256 and see if that.tuns cooler.

    Tim, thanks a lot for the video. Actually, I haven't experienced any overheating with my GoPro. But I realized that in most cases I used 1080p, not 4K or 8K. With frame rate 24, 25 or 30.
    I really love how you made and edited the video. It looks and sounds really dynamic.
    And I couldn't help thinking how you mounted your GoPro for this video. :)
    Rise and grind!

      Hey @kovalyoff ! Thanks for your comment! Good to hear you haven't had too many issues with your GoPro. Sounds like you shouldn't have any issues at those fps and resolutions, as long as you don't record for too long. 1080p is still a very impressive video resolution and is great for most situations. Thanks for your kind words too. I'm glad you liked all the fancy stuff I added afterwards. hahah.
      BTW I attached my GoPro Hero 11 to the jaws clamp and then attached it to my car door ( window down ) to film this video. I love that accessory, It comes in super handy.
      Thanks for asking BTW ! lol
      All the best, mate.

    Imagine for diving if they added a case that is connected to your first stage with a hose to provide ventilation and equalization ofc

    • @AdventureTimMedia
      @AdventureTimMedia  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey @kairos_rabbit ! thanks for your comment. Its an interesting idea but diving is one time when you would probably have little chance of your gopro overheating. Normally having decent airflow around your gopro can help keep the camera cool and in some cases , greatly increase your battery life.
      If you are in the water from my experience, overheating is not really an issue.
      How deep do you dive with your gopro? Do you use a waterproof casing ? if you can let us know those details I may be able to do some more research for u. Thanks for yr comment and all the best.

      @@AdventureTimMedia I was researching to purchase a gopro and found some complaints about the overheating problem from the Hero 10 and up when recording at max settings. It seems that since there is no airflow in a case while diving, overheating could be a recurrent problem, so I thought of that solution. Also most cases as far as I know are guaranteed up to 30m, so equalization should solve that issue.
      I wanted to start recording my dives since I started scuba diving fairly recently, so I got worried about that problem.

      @@KairosRabbit Hey mate, thanks for getting back to me. I have the Telesin Waterproof case for my GoPro. According to Amazon it can protect the GoPro down to 45m, which sounds extraordinary. In my testing I've only dived with it ( not scuba ) down a couple of metres and it was fine those couple of times. I know the GoPro Hero 11 and 12 can go down to a depth of 10 m ( 33 ft ) without a casing. Scuba diving is a lot of fun. I've only done it three times - in Australia and the Phillipines and it is pretty amazing. BTW this is the case I use. Hope it helps. And thanks for your comment, amzn.to/3UThK1p
