To be fair, the only way for his disease to work are either to be psychic (which even then usually fails against Marines) or the Marines themselves choose to embrace Nurgle. @aprinnyonbreak1290 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Orks, Tyranids, and Dark Eldar are pretty unambiguously evil, though Orks are more "fun" than evil.
Chaos, primarily Khorne, Slaanesh, and Undivided, is a pretty hard sell away from Evil. Nurgle is grayer than the other 2, and seems to be the most "process driven" of the Gods, and could be argued as some kind of force of nature. Tzeentch has a much better case than the other three, as he has Hope as a secondary portfolio. But, not a tremendously better case, maybe sour of neutral at best.
Eldar are square in neutral, their gameplan is to survive to the demise of everyone else, yet again.
I'll mention Necrons here, they are in a weird lore place right now, and honestly, I don't know which of their motive packages are canon at the moment. So neutral via confusion.
Then comes the Imperium, just sweet of neutral. Their ideal state is purging the things that won't stop fighting from the galaxy, until they reach a point where they can expand peacefully. Simple as.
Tau are north of them, as they actually want to work together and not murder everyone they meet.
And then the Harlequins are probably the single most "good" faction in the setting. Will they kill you for reasons knowable only to themselves? Yes. Do they also have the only plan anyone has for actually managing to put down Chaos by "killing" Slaanesh, and returning the other three to their pre-Slaanesh malaise and ineffectiveness? Also yes. They are pretty laser focused on doing something for galactic public good, by cleaning up the Eldar's mess.

A Krieg quartermaster listning to a Grey knight talk about how only 1 in 10 000 000 can become a grey knight, the quarter master then starts looking over some papers not paying more attention. The grey knight then questions the quarter master what he is doing.
The quartermaster after a couple of seconds, raises his head to look strait in the face of the grey knight and says:
With the number of troops in your chapter, Krieg can churn out about that number in troops about every 20 min.

So Kryptman was an inquisitor of the ordo xenos (investigating aliens). He encountered the tyranids and saw them as the most dangerous opponent to the imperium. His solution was using exterminatus on a planet the moment the tyranids descended on the planet, this meant that the tyranids had expended a lot of resources without regaining anything from the planet. Seeing as a lost battle against the tyranids would result in a destroyed planet he thought well this is the best option.
Of course other inquisitors didn't like Kryptman using exterminatus on planet after planet as it's an insanly costly tactic. Sadly enough it's probably the best tactic there is.

Honestly, the very thing that makes the Inquisition so terrifying is, tragically, also a big reason why the Imperium still exists. The problem with this universe is that Wrongthink against the Imperial Truth can in some cases, quite literally, be lethal due to the existence of Chaos. And not JUST to oneself, no, but to everyone around them. The Inquisition has all the unchecked power that it currently possesses BECAUSE nothing must get in the way between the Imperium and weeding out Heretics. Yes there are abuses of power, yes there are members of the Inquisition who are often WORSE than the very Heretics they hunt. The fact remains, though, that without the Inquisition, the Imperium wouldn’t survive another Solar month, let alone the many millennia it’s persisted through since the Heresy. Even Fidus Kryptman performed all the rapid Exterminatuses that he did because it was, in the end, necessary to stem the ‘Nids. Whether or not he took joy in doing so is never once directly stated, either. It’s entirely possible he feels guilt over what he did.

To be clear, a lasgun can penetrate power armor at close range. So, the artillery and heavy weapons smashing the enemy while the infantry rushes in and just shoots the crap out of everyone is a very viable tactic for them. Charging to get into practically melee distance of the enemy and then just gunning them down works well for them. Especially since their casualties are meaningless.

    This is Gog Vandir.
As a result of his reign, the second largest (after the Horus Heresy) civil war in the Imperium took place.

And in fact, before this surgery, he was one of the nicest primarchs ... if not the nicest one.
And then - the contrast between his kind-hearted nature and the implants that literally lead him to commit violence - drove the poor fella crazy.

Star Trek FTL travel: we warp space around our ships to make a bubble of changed space that can move faster than light.
Star Wars FTL travel: we shift our ships into a different dimension where we can move faster than light.
WH40K: ok, we'll go through Hell. Prepare for demon incursions in case our anti-demon bubble generator falters.

Also one common misconception about the custodes - their numbers. They are the 10'000, the Emperors personal army. The 300 are the Emperors retinue, his companions. The custodes guard the Imperial palace (which is built upon and slightly larger than mount everest) and are in constant battle with the demons of the warp trying to break through the damaged webway that Magnus shattered.
Most only remember the 300, but they are legion. They are THE legion, HIS legion.

Also "Fed a 1000 people a day" makes it sound like the Emperor is living on human flesh.

Played a rogue trader in the table top rpg game. Owned a whole fleet of trading ships, Imperial writ, the whole bit.
Came afoul of a single inquisitor and all my assets were seized, and my character was thrown into solitary confinement without a trial, evidence, etc... Never even knew what I did to piss them off. Ended up renaming the character Edmond Dantes.
