C'tan: "I'll give you immortality, just step into the soul furnace and-"
Necron: "Why's it called a soul furnace?"
C'tan: "Great question! Get in the Soul Furnace!"
I love how Bricky explained exactly what Orks were up to this whole timeline. WEZ BUZY KRUMPING GITS, UMIE! WAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!
Unironically the happiest, most contented race in the 'verse
i think the Orks are probably the happiest faction in the entire Galaxy,Death doesn't bother them that much, WAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH!
The Eldar's fall is more complicated than the Eldar having everything and becoming bored with vanilla, it's started because their gods no longer respond to them.
There was the fiasco with Khaine wanting to kill all the Eldars because of a prophecy that he'll be killed by them and it drove the war god to mauling Vaul and killing two Eldar heroes which prompted Asuryan to block off the gods from the very people who worshipped them.
The Eldar also doesn't simply worship their gods, they are so intrinsically connected with their gods that, with how tied the Eldar is to the Warp, they are basically focal points of emotional and spiritual stability.
So basically, the Eldar became sadistic sensation-seeking slatterns because they have literal gods-shaped holes in their souls and they sought to fill it with sensations but said holes couls never be filled...
And metaphorically, said holes were tunnels that went down all the way to Slaanesh and the more they fed it to try and fill it, the more Slaanesh arose.
He gets a lot just wrong.
@@cyclone8974 no
@@ls200076 Sorry but yes he does. He talks about Eldar as if Spirit stones don't exist.
I can't get through any of his videos because they're so jam packed with BS.
@cyclone8974 Well then what the hell are you doing here? You could’ve just not clicked the video and everyone would’ve been happier.
It's interesting that you don't care about misinformation.@@Joseph_Drew_III
Bricky also glossed over that the Old Ones didn't completely die out, and also got hoist by their own petard in the end, which I feel is an important part of understanding the beginning lore. The Old Ones made the Orks to be the opposite of the Eldar. The Eldar are graceful, psychically powerful creatures. The Orks were literally designed to be functionally immune to the Warp, by having their own sort of closed collective consciousness, which the Orks call the WAAGH. This was great in theory, but it also meant that, when the Old Ones lost control of the Orks, the Orks ended up killing a LOT of the Old Ones, who were primarily a psychic race themselves. Now the Orks are just a loose bioweapon running around breaking things.
29:25 Another interesting tidbit about the techpriests' red outfits: The concept of the Cult Mechanicus was probably based on the technology priesthood in the Foundation Trilogy, and those priests also wore red robes. From a Doylist perspective, that's probably the source of the techpriests' color scheme.
10:11 "WE WUZ RULERS OF THE GALAXY N SHIET" This is why I love Necrons.
Justice for my boy Malal/Malice.
Death to the Dark Gods. Let the galaxy burn.
Also Malal's disappearence had less to do with popularity and more to do with copyright. (He was introduced in the comics, which GW lost the rights to at some point during all their copyright disputes.) He did get indirectly referred to by way of the "Ravenous Dissolution" special rule in the Burning of Ohmn-Mat supplement from some months ago tho.
Trazyn is basically a hobbyist.
So The Emperor's appearance isn't really his appearance. Similar to Magnus he can make himself look like whatever he wants via psyker bullshit. It's said the Sisters of Silence saw him as he really was - an unimpressive tan skinned man from the stone age.
Bro folded so hard the second he saw the six pack flavored gamersupps
Never read a single book or story in 40k but I love finding out about this stuff, it's too cool to ignore (I'm just avoiding cuz I know my wallet wouldn't handle it well)
By the way, since we have the spooky season I totally recommend How it Feels to Suffer in SFM from LazyPurple, it's a god damned masterpiece! o7
How did he hide amongst humanity for eons? Clearly the big foot sightings was him all along.
You know, that's a fair point. How did a 10 foot tall giant of a man managed to stay hidden all that time?
@@zaer-ezartapparently he has been multiple religious and political figure. Jesus, Muhammad and others through the years but we didn't listen though
@@zaer-ezart Biomancy or he isn't ACTUALLY that big so much as he looks that big because of a psychic glamour.
Not to be a giga nerd but Bricky is like a wiki article for warhammer lore. I still remember some of his "Ahriman is just a dust boy, he is made of dust". But he is funny to watch, that's for sure.
....And by being wiki means not take info at face value. Because þe truþ may actually lead to anoþer rabbit hole.
@@johndexterzarate6663 just for example of wiki info, stuff that is written on wiki is literally sometimes exatly the opposite. The say the character is alive. A book that came out 5 years ago literally show this character getting killed as a first spacemarine dying to custodes.
For the sake of your wallet... Just make sure you don't go past Luetin09. That is the point of no return for the 40K universe!
entertainment over accuaracy is like the catchphrase of their podcast xD....also if you want to include all this shit the video has to be how long? Days? Years? xD
@@mtuktuk9627 same length he just gets stuff wrong sometimes that's it.
Bricky has such a cool way of explaining things.
Immediate purchase 😂
Mad respect !!
3:19 😂😂 right?? And my man!!!!
I came for the stache and stayed for the voice 🥂
@8:19 Malal wasn't redacted due to lack of popularity, he was redacted due to copyright issues. Basically, the guy who was contracted out to make a Warhammer Fantasy comic book that introduced him maintained the rights to the character. He kind of lives on in 40k as an entity called Malice.
Couple other details to know: Humanity's primate ancestors were also made by the Old Ones, the War in Heaven ended when a Warp race known as the Enslavers showed up and either killed or chased off most of the Old Ones and their races, and the Emperor was born by a bunch of ancient human shamans seeing the threat of Chaos and ritualistically sacrificing themselves to make the Emperor to fight them.
Have fun!
The Emperor doesn't have a canon origin as of now. That's just one theory.
@@Wazzen563 That *was* the canon origin in early official Warhammer. It has not been mentioned in a long while, yet that does not mean it has been retconned entirely.
Was looking forward to this reaction!
30:10 Shape-shifting.
He should've named the gamer supps flavour "Bricked Up" 😂
Lmao your reference to the Afro Centrist "We Wuz Kangz" is absolutely golden.
Listening to Bricky talk about Warhammer Lore while reading the Night Lords Omnibus at the same time. Bricky would be very proud( I hope).
22:45 actually that’s Ge’els, the guy you meet in the Witcher 3 who Gerald convicts to betray Eradin
22:59 That's not Filavandrel but Ge'els (another pointy-ear). Anyway - Great video!
I thought I was going crazy around 6:30, because I was about to start up Ixion, but I was already hearing its music 0_0
That was scary for a second.
That elf from Witcher 3 was Ge’els, advisor to and logistician of Eredin (as well as avid fan of cubism)
I think Malal (Malice) was removed as a chaos god not because he wasn’t popular enough but because of copyright reasons (I don’t know this for sure but seeing GW’s track record it adds up)
22:26 perfect sound bite, I thank you
More like Malal has copyright issues and then when renamed Malice, nothing happened with him further.
Just a note; the artist who did Bricky's gamersupps art is named IAHFY and she is a hard lesbian. So, this is well within her wheelhouse and don't expect any male art from her. XD
Who cares?
@@addison_v_ertisement1678 You care enough to comment.
IAHFY is goated for her Korra x Asami fanart. My word they get me feeling something else.
@@IliyaMoroumetz I care about my time being wasted on pointless shit, not her being a lesbian. Don't waste my time anymore.
@@izzdin6228 Yes, yes she is!
6:42 I heard that Ixion OST in there, Jack. Good taste TBH.
2:05 saddest moment in history
As far as I remember the Chaos gods didn't exist, or rather fully form, until the Middle Ages (hence black death, wars everywhere, intrigue abound), and they didn't even start to form until after the War in Heaven. The worst you would probably experience in the Warp back then would be equivalent to shark. It will probably leave you alone unless you poke it, or if it senses blood in the water, so to speak.
Thank Papa Nurgle, I let GamerSupps send me Text Messages. They texted me about the flavor before Bricky’s video came out. Made the purchase right away and it also came with a free Muscle Mommy Jug.
I would cite the recent _Foundation_ series as another deep Sci-Fi series. It was pretty good too. 😊
my head canon is that the emperor was bigfoot
22:56 wait, isn't it Ge'els and not Filavandrel? Pretty sure I recognized him earlier, he's the one making "abstract" art in TW3, and the outfit fits.
[Edit] also this seems to be his card art from standalone Gwent game
You are correct
I swear even in the 41st millenia that mustache would've been a heretical war crime X3
Just to fix one of Brickys mistakes the Men of Iron revolution happened before the birth of Slaanesh as the humans won that war before the empire truley fell. It also just wouldnt make sense how an undivided humanity would win that type of war
True but DAOT wasn't exactly united right? And Men of Iron's rebellion was more aganist men of stone?? Golden men?? Whatever the fuck that means. Humans fought hard but some men of iron also stayed loyal I think? And it wasn't to do with chaos though chaos did some stuff too just too minor to count.
@@berilsevvalbekret772chaos being involved is pure speculation and pretty sure humanity was united as specific separate Empires aren't mentioned just humanity. To clarify I do believe Men of Stone were servants, Men of Iron were combat robots that did revolt that I'm 100 percent on and Men of Gold I think we're the leaders/ the robots who would make other robots
Went Through DDLC this weekend with the girlfriend, so your BGM kinda freaked me out.
Great choice !
10:00 didnt they become immortal at this point? or was it about real immortality and not just a long/endless live?
and would it be possible to turn the emperor into a real god, of the humans for example?
You go through the Dubai portal and you'll end up in Oklahoma? No wonder no one's going in.
Another couple of good lore channels besides Bricky would be Isyander & Koda or Sandman of Terra, the first one in particular will take a single WH40K topic and spend an hour expanding about it. Much like Bricky's Adeptis Ridiculous, except with fewer memes and usually not played that much for laughs.
Just one second into the add... JUST SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!
Who were the ones they removed from the lore?
"there is only war" and we wont have it any other way
on another note, correct me if im wrong that one of the reasons that the emperor is able to keep the demons away for so long is because all of the people that believe him to be a god? so boosting him with power
Since his... enthronement (idk if that's a word *but now it is* ), his Soul has been empowered by each and every person believing in him, and Failbaddon unleashing the Cicatrix made his psychic potency staggerly blinding.
So yeah, Emps got more powerful than ever by becoming a corpse
@@jetpilledmyron2056love the irony, what he sought to destroy imade him stronger
Also why does he still need sacrifices? Wouldn't the trillions of people would suffice to keep him alive
@@Moonwalker130 the part about the sacrifices is the reason he, as a Perpetual (aka a special being who keep regenerating and resurect after death, think about Jesus-like), hasn't yet rised from his throne. However, this is a needed sacrifice as behind the Golden Throne lies the still qctive, despite closed, sole gate into the Imperial Webway, a project that failed miserably thanks to his son Magnus.
So the dilemma is this: either he leave his vestige back to keep the Webway gate sealed and the Astronomican (the thing required for humans to navigate through the warp) functioning, making the 1000 souls needed to power up this, or he let Terra get swarmed and ripped apart like a third Eye of Terror to resurect.
However, in Godblight, it has been demonstrated he is awakening, so essentially either he aknowledged what he missed, and now is plotting to find a solution to fix evwrything before rising up, or aim at elevate himself to God and block the 4 Dark Ones in person.
So yeah, in short the 1000 people a day aren't for his soul but for his body to not just end up like Malcador/stop working and letting a new warp hole open
@@jetpilledmyron2056 oh gotcha, thanks for clarifying
Let's gooooo!!!!
All the factions rose and had a fall that almost destroyed them, with the exception of the Tau Empire....Yet...the blueberries will get theirs eventually 🤣
Hey handsome, that mustache suits you ♡
WarhammerZ :D, good comparison^^.
If I didnt knowed about warhammer 40k at all and he said that 90% of the eldar population died as soon as they finded and used TikTok I would of believed it and said that is accurate since nowadays kinda thats what happens
I dont buy that Emperor was on Earth from the pre-history.
The how sacrifice of 10000 psychics a day may seem a lot and psychics are rarer but but in our own world, Ben estimate that people die every day around the ballpark of 150,000 and this is 40 K literally colonize multiple star system, so it’s really not that big of a number
He just woke up and decided to be a dick! That's perfect.
Also: He is still alive?! I assumed he died sometime during the heresy in a rare event of divine justice. Damn.
I really believe the Emperor came into being close to the end of the Age of Strife, and he being there since the begining of humanity is just propaganda.

An unusual honour.
well i mean in latin languages planet earth is called terra
Magnus did nothing wrong.
He was asked to do nothing.
And he did it wrong.
(stolen joke, but it is accurate)
There is no peace. There is only WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHH!!!
Sorry seems my allegiance is showing
As I mentioned in Bricky's video, I don't like him slapping a "fascist" over the general description of the Imperium, but since he isn't here for exolaining every ramification of it I can see that's the shortcut to describe the harsh and unforgiving way it's administrated, and besides that it was an enjoyable video
The best description I've seen to properly categorize the Imperium governmentally is "A mix of the Roman Republic, the Soviet states, and the Spanish Inquisition".
@@MegaGullas which is pretty much a good base. Add also European burocracy and you have it all
@MegaGullas There’s a specific word that summarizes two of those three rather well.
i hard disagree with ya there man... castlevania became utter shit after season 2 and castlevania nocturne is an AI generated garbage fire that takes pride in insulting the original games and im not kidding look it up the show runners love to shit on Iga's work
I cringe every time Bricky calls the Imperium "bad guys" and "fascist", the guy doesn't know jack about the lore.
bruh you cappin
Fascism is a political theory or system that advocates an authoritarian, hierarchical and dictatorial government that exalts nation and often race above the individual. That’s a perfect description of the Imperium.
..wtf do you think they are? Sociolist utopia? They are facist GW stated MULTIPLE TIMES they are a mockery of it. Your favorutr faction is the bad guys mate. Cope. Everyone is in 40k
hell yeah if u dig dark elves read Elric Of Melnibone from the 60s
