Heya guys, wondered if I could get some Necron tips from Michael? Building my Necrons from the indomitus boxset would he suggest Flayers or Gauss reapers for the Necron warriors?
I read this comment right as I was feeling smug that my bois the necrons had this one in the bag with only one unit remaining. And then he charged all the way across the arena......

I think the thing I love most about this channel is that, whilst everyone plays by the rules, they also remember that it’s ultimately a game and sometimes making nonsensical decisions because it’s cool is the best play 👌🏻
All I can imagine is the Optimus Prime “I’ll take you all on” scene that’s been floating around TH-cam when that Dreadnought proceeded to show the Necrons how it’s done in the 41st millennium.

I hope lots of other channel manage to adapt a similar editing style. You are pioneers. I enjoy the format. Smaller skirmishes make every model valuable. Since dice tell stories, I say this is format would fit a narrative campaign centered on kill team esque characters very well. Would fit your editing style also. I see movie potential here. Love you guys' work.
interesting alternative to Kill Team / Combat Patrol. I would like to see some Kill Team Matches and some Old World Fantasy if you guys are up for filiming some! Onepage rules too

Watching the light slowly fade from Nick's eyes this game was so incredibly painful because as somebody who has just started playing custodes within the past couple months against only my friend with a ridiculous amount of Tyranids is excruciating
They're really an army built for 2k points. At 500 pts like this, they just can't be everywhere and do enough compared to other armies, unless they go mostly SoS.
as a custodes player who plays them for the fantasy of the power of an entire army existing in and represented by a few mere humans, i don’t have a single forge world model in my army. but this dreadnought right here was absolutely inspiring, that might have to change…
this game format is amazing! I have but 1 thing to add after reading the rules in the description. By my experience in 10th ed low points games there is nothing more opressive than a single deathstar unit that is highly mobile, as in everything that has great shooting and can upsie downsie: - SM Vanguard spearhead - name a strong ranged infantry unit, they have WAY to many - - Agends ordo xenos alien hunters Deathwatch killteam - necron hypercrypt legion Lokhust destroyers - Vanguard invader Tyranids: Zoanthropes - Grey knight purgation squad There is no counterplay against such units if you do not have the points for screaning units. Thus i heaviliy limit such rules on such units: The best solution i found is that units costing over 200p can not leave the table via any rule other than destruction in 1k points games or less. In 500p games i would go even lower: 150p or less
I know this is TOTALLY out of left field and probably no one will get it, but the music playing during deployment sounds a bit like "Emperor Awesome's" theme song from "Wander over Yonder"... 😂😅

I still think about how brutal that Custodes vs Tzeentch 1500pts Championship game was; so many mortally wounded Custodes ;(

Small questions about the rules; Since I'll be playing this with friends: Infantry units; so this means Infantry Keyword? At least 1 Character; so you can run 2? (If not named) I.e. Noble + Cryptek in Necrons
So the "Must have" requirements are 1 HQ (Not epic hero) to be your warlord, 2 Infantry Keyword Non character units, and no units over Toughness 9. So in your case you can absolutely have a Noble and Cryptek as long as the rest of requirements are met. Hopefully that clears things up for you
Ok, at 10:40 (asking because I have not played before, I am still working on turning my massive built grey pile of shame into at the very least "battle ready" models..or at least 1k points for starters): Would it not have made sense to let the character die there, since it was on Nick's own turn and his opponent had a chance to pull the "Assassination" objective next turn, netting him secondaries for killing the now-1-wound exposed character..? She does not hold the objective, she does not get a turn, and at most gets to fight first on next combat (iirc the opponent fights first in continued combat?), maybe removing 1 or 2 models depending on how strong a character she is... I suppose it used up one of the opponent's attacks... Hm. Ngl, no idea whether that or the chance of the opponent scoring Assassination and using a CP was more worthwhile here. I really want to start playing. If only I could decide on the two colour schemes I have been testing (or whether I should just go Leviathan) so I can go ahead and paint more than the 10x Termagant, 10x Hormagant, 5x Barbgaunt and 3x Spore mines I have finished so far. Hrnng...
As much as i love watching your channel i would like to see more people playing. as much as i like the ones who come at playon, it would be fun to see more new faces. Im guessing you are looking for more but maybe its hard to find in some way, maybe beacuse of time or some other reason. But back when you started you guys had alot more people coming to play so what happend?
We have guests on quite regularly. We do have our regulars. But in the past year we’ve had dozens of guests come and play at our studio. We try to mix it up the best we can.

Been playing a lot of 500pts as a beginner, and have to say been loving using Rough Riders as Astra Militarum. Not a lot of people expect melee Guard
Love the coliseum! You can run, but you cannot hide, high impact, high action!
That's probably the coolest and best game result possible.
Both players won that.
Should be a 20 point rule in any warhammer game for tabling an opponent. Would make the last round play like that super cool and game changing.

Honestly combat patrol and 500-750pt games are my favorite way to play 40k. Forget 2k points with everything always getting cheaper in points.

Forgeworld is necessary for stodes to be competitive. Don’t buy them from official websites though.

Is the discardimg an unachieved side mission and gaining a CP a house rule? I can't find it in the main rules anywhere
It is part of the Leviathan Chapter Approved rules. If you have the Leviathan mission cards it would have been on the pamphlet in that set.

How does a 6" move dreadnought catch a squad of destroyers?
Where is the custodians shield captain? I thought he had to have a commander, and that’s the only non-name commander they have.

centura is a commander i believe
The Custodes are the only factions to have more models sold than units in the lore.
Knights and Chaos Knights might be runner ups for that statistic.

The reason he kept the knight-centure alive was so that the neurons were still in melee, meaning they couldn't move and then charge something else

It's better to be max points win even if the person getting more points got wiped. That allows for tactics to make up for bad match ups
