- Mk1 escort Mexico in for the full and we mean full restoration!
This is by far the most challenging car we have taken on!
Have we got what it takes to build this back to its full glory!
Take a watch and see how far we have got,
This one is defiantly worth a subscribe!!
Apologies for the first part of this video, this has been a long time coming and with loosing video footage I didn’t want you guys to miss out!
nice work sir - i love jobs like this - its so interesting working out how the original panels were fitted together :)
Thanks, the front end is the most amount of panels slotted together. It’s just a big jigsaw
It will all be well worth it - great project.
Thanks and it sure will 💪
Nice to see this from the beginning. Crazy how far it's been stripped back. Nice video 👌
Thank you 💪
Good work, greetings from a Escort MK1 owner from the Netherlands 👊
Welcome to the Channel. 👌
Nice method to spilt the panels apart and jig set up. Always comes in handy for reference points, and if you do anymore, Escorts. Look forward to seeing more 👍
Thank you 👌
Nice work mate 👊
Thank you 💪
Brilliant video
Appreciate it.
A elderly gentleman I know has 2 mk1 rs rally cars ,1x m2 shell 2 door 1x mk1 cortina shell and 1x mk 1 cortina rally car . I'm very envious
yes me 2. are they for sale? lol asking for everyone that is going to ask.
Brill video. The jig you made for inner wings are you using fords measurements and 9 degree angle or did you create the jig from the existing inner arch measurements?
So we created the jig from the original inner wings, but to check the alignment and position we have used a second escort again original for measurements and fitment.
XE redtop under the bonnet bullet proof 😂
Yes and it’s going back in!
Genuine question, why wouldn’t you just get a new shell?
What’s the fun in that? And also at the moment there is a big thing going on with log books and older cars. Once you get a “new” shell it’s then becomes complicated.
A shell that has been repaired even if it’s only original is the roof is still the same shell
@ see, I think that replacing almost every panel is madness, but I can see why resto shops appreciate it. It’s a good earner for them.
All very satisfying and rewarding. A certain skill set is required
Mine looks easy compared to this 😂
Just a tab! More to come on the RS1600i soon
