I use to work at a gas station in a swankier suburb. We had an air hose outside connected to our shop compressor and it had 125PSI in it. People would stop by all the time to fill up their bicycle tyres. They would put the chuck on and just hold it there until the tyre popped with a loud bang. We always could hear it from inside and we all got a good laugh, fun times.
It's been a minute since I have seen a Grand Am on the road. Heck, even the trailer parks are cleared out of them. Replaced by the Equinox, Traverse and Grand Caravan 🤣
I have that TOPDON jump starter. The first vehicle I got to start with it was a Ford 6.0L Power Stroke. Out of the kindness of my heart I gave the guy a jump with it and he was impressed. Spun it right over.
Scott i am so jealous of your grand am finding abilities i would love another one those little 3.4s are great motors and there awesome knock around cars with decent fuel mileage
I love love love that you took this car and gave it its life back. I miss my 2003 GT, just the same as I miss my 87 Camaro, but still love my 2017 Malibu hybrid. If I had the space, I would absolutely love to bring these machines back to life.
Tap the quarter a little bit, get a can of white rustoleum, and piaint where its peeling. Rustoleum levels nicely and looks decent from 10 feet away. I'v seen many white cargo vans like that.
For a second there I thought that the 'flying' Pontiac coming around the corner on the prongs of the loader was a new CGI fantasy section. Great to have a rebuild back on the channel.
One of those deals where the auction should have paid you to take it! lol I used to sell these new in 25 years ago. My favourite of the GM cars of the time!
33:24 thwack! the wooden spoon had the same use from the stone age all the way til today and far into the future... little anakin got whacked many a time for being bad...
I like to imagine these old Pontiac Grand Ams all talk about being bought by Scott is like getting a new life. Anyone else, scrap city, but he puts love into his creations.
I had a 99 grand am se and then a 01 grand am gt for my first and second car. I absolutely loved them. What good cars, wish gm still made cars like that. I respect your grand am addiction!
The other day the Wife and I were on I-10 here in Texas and I looked over and saw a car transport with some wreaked vehicles on it. I said that one car is from Florida. She said what, does it have FL tags? I said no, I can tell from the sheetrock screws holding the front bumper on. LOL
Being in Australia, I'm not very familiar with American cars, but I recognised this one as being a Grand AM Pontiac, because I've seen so many of them in your videos over time. You seem to really like them, probably because they are cheap to buy because nobody else wants them?
I worked at a Car auction.. The BIG NAME ones where all the used cars go.. Rental cars. And They were even doing wrecks. We had some cars for over 4 years on the lot baking in the FL sun. Its crazy they just keep running it through for X price and they keep trying.. They had this 911 porsche with flat tires and a donut that was sitting in the back row for maybe even longer. One day they finally did something with it and it Started and ran! I forked it too many times with the tow truck. I mean. Just jammed the wheel lift under the back lifted it up just to move it around a few feet. I messed that car up good I did not care because it was always in the way when the line car changed and cleared out.. And there is the 911 again all alone. Lets move it!. I eventually scooted it down to the front corner so I didnt have to fork it anymore.
That's a lot of red Texas dust;I'd be more worried about what slithers in that dust!Must be slim Grand Am pickens in Illinois if you have to go all the way to Amarillo!
Even with that gas tank full it couldn't weight but a few pounds, those cars dont take much gas to fill. Awesome video Scott. Good to see you back in the county. 🚗🚗🚗
Hey Scott,Watching this while I'm in Chicago visiting my son,You should put some drywall screws in the rear bumper and sell it to your friends in Florida, You know the ones I mean. Gord Ontario Canada
I've got an XJR we waited for 6 years to get at auction in Terre Haute. It was hit by a forklift in that time, too. Two years later it's sitting in a corner of my shop, untouched... Got a Grand Am sitting in Terre Haute looks just like that one, but it's ram air and cost me $350!
I'm actually impressed that those old tyres hold air at all, sitting for 6 years is long time for a tyre, especially when they are all out for elements and shit like that.
Speaking of Grand Ams, I remember going to the World Of Wheels as a kid (late 80s?) and I seem to remember one turned into an El Camino. The emblems said Grand Amma. Never saw it again, and haven't found any pics or info online 😂
Suggestion, Scott: next time you get a car from Texas, before you hit the road, take it through a self-service car wash and left the Texas dirt, in Texas.
Auction car loading question. If a car is run and drive ( as in can drive at normal speeds ) will the auction allow the buyer to load into a trailer or is forking the car to the trailer required?
Time 3300 Judging by the stuff in the trunk, I'm betting this was owned by a 20 something gal that has a 6 year loan on the car with $ rolled in from the last car.
I'd absolutely love to find a 96-98. The body on mine is toast. Been that way for several years and I'm not able to fix it on my own. Only way I can see getting one in good shape is from the south. Doesn't even have to run. I just need the body.
Time 1150 Tires 10 X normal size. Find an inflatable collapsible spare from 1970's ish car then inflate it in front of someone that has never seen one. . . . Now that I think of it, the 06 - 11 R series Mercedes has these.
Wow dude! Seeing that fat wallet of yours around the 14:00 mark, you must be really rich!! Oh, and the Smithsonian Museum is calling, they want their Viva 3 All Season Goodyear tires back. SMH
LOL. as soon as you said "only Texas with non chrome wheels" I remembered seeing a bunch here in Massachusetts..... then you thru out this $hit hole states name LOL
I watched a high-end resto-mod done on here, and notices they didn't do the right stuff like he does, and spray wax into enclosed, but accessible areas, and pointed it out.
GM couldn’t keep Pontiac alive but by god Scott is showing them how
Theory: it was PIT maneuvered, explaining the damage area and why it was 6 years before the legal stuff was decided.
maybe tires with flat spots ?
I didn’t see any drywall screws! That Pontiac is cherry! 😂
Scott, I believe you have a Grand Am addiction!
Seriously. You need some intervention
I agree
One of pontiacs plastic fantastics
There’s a 1-800 number you can call when addicted to grand ams 😂
@@Coach_addis thought that number started with 666? 😂

Had to laugh at the "Childhood Memories" comment. I too am a "Wooden Spoon Survivor" Excellent Video.
Oh yeah! They would leave marks!
It's been a minute since I have seen a Grand Am on the road. Heck, even the trailer parks are cleared out of them. Replaced by the Equinox, Traverse and Grand Caravan 🤣
And Nissan Altimas with steel wheels.
Scott, Great deal on your favorite car. Man I don't think anyone knows Grand Ams like you.
Your channel is an example of what quality content on TH-cam should be. Thank you for your hard work and effort!⛵️🔷💐
You never fail to keep it interesting!
Good to see you back Scott, missed you last week. Unusual to see a clean underbody not all rusty.
I have that TOPDON jump starter. The first vehicle I got to start with it was a Ford 6.0L Power Stroke. Out of the kindness of my heart I gave the guy a jump with it and he was impressed. Spun it right over.
And that's mazing because the only thing I could get the only thing to spin on one of those is a rod bearing
Rust reformer, cavity wax, on the seen surfaces - pdr and bondo and some spray paint. Change tires and drive it.
Quick, concise and a total win. Great work and another great Friday treat. Happy Turkey day Scott.
Scott i am so jealous of your grand am finding abilities i would love another one those little 3.4s are great motors and there awesome knock around cars with decent fuel mileage
LOL , Is anybody surprised that it is a Grand Am? LOL .. They are easy money for Scott!!
And such precision tools hammers vice grips porta power real easy. Only saving grace was access to parts in his staeh
I can binge your vids all day!
I love love love that you took this car and gave it its life back. I miss my 2003 GT, just the same as I miss my 87 Camaro, but still love my 2017 Malibu hybrid. If I had the space, I would absolutely love to bring these machines back to life.
Happy Friday, Scott!🍻
It will be interesting to see what happens to this Grand AM.
Scott is the TOP-DON of rebuilding cars.
“What’s with the bitch mittens?” How is the shop coming along ?😅😅
Tap the quarter a little bit, get a can of white rustoleum, and piaint where its peeling. Rustoleum levels nicely and looks decent from 10 feet away. I'v seen many white cargo vans like that.
Yup I've done a few with tremcald. It was cheap and lasted longer then the cars themselves 😂
Enjoy your videos, recycling is always good ❤
For a second there I thought that the 'flying' Pontiac coming around the corner on the prongs of the loader was a new CGI fantasy section.
Great to have a rebuild back on the channel.
As much as I trucked in and out of Chicago I saw lots of cars not look as good as that one. You can make money on that one the way it sits
Getting started I did so much work like that... outside, down and dirty. Lotsa fun, thanks as always and regards.
One of those deals where the auction should have paid you to take it! lol I used to sell these new in 25 years ago. My favourite of the GM cars of the time!

The lack of any straight body panels on my car is confirmation that the hail in Texas is indeed bigger.

Enjoy seeing you straighten metal. Impressive. Thanks.

Great work, Scott! You make it look so easy! I say, keep it as a beater! You still need to order pizza!
That's a lot of red Texas dust;I'd be more worried about what slithers in that dust!Must be slim Grand Am pickens in Illinois if you have to go all the way to Amarillo!
The grand Ams in Illinois are all Swiss cheese by this point
Not bad for setting for 6 years and a few hell Mary's and Scott did it again, good job
Thanks for the video Scott.
Even with that gas tank full it couldn't weight but a few pounds, those cars dont take much gas to fill.
Awesome video Scott. Good to see you back in the county. 🚗🚗🚗

23:34 I would like to file a work injury claim. I fell and hit my head ! LOL

That is defiantly a FARM FRESH level vehicle!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I always loved GM's defective white paint from the '90s!!
" I am entertained!" thank you! Happy Thanksgiving!
Nice,6yrs impressive, you do love your pontiac stuff .just keep doing what you do best.be safe 😎😎😎👍👍👍
"Ah a wooden spoon, uh! Childhood memories" has me dead 🤣🤣
Thanks for leaving the outtake in 😆
It was fate that the car came to you, you’re bound to need a new stirring spoon by now Scott 🏴👍🏻
Thanks for bringing so good and entertaining videos. 👍
Speaking of Grand Ams, I remember going to the World Of Wheels as a kid (late 80s?) and I seem to remember one turned into an El Camino. The emblems said Grand Amma. Never saw it again, and haven't found any pics or info online 😂
I got mine for $50, only needed a battery, and also parked for years. Had 65,000 miles. They're out there.
Suggestion, Scott: next time you get a car from Texas, before you hit the road, take it through a self-service car wash and left the Texas dirt, in Texas.
You do awesome work my friend.
Great work ...enjoyed your video.....
I live in Texas and we want our dirt back. 🤣
28:47 thanks in case no one ever says it for fixing up cars like this so some kid can have their first affordable beater...
Aw shucks. I thought you nabbed a mint El Camino. Well, a scuffed Grand AM is the next best thing. 😶🌫️
This looks like a great car to get you through the winter as is.
Your level 📈of practicality IS cool😎👍

Must have been the longest time it took to get listed!
If you go to Harbor Freight you can get the air over hydraulic foot pedal for that ram set is a lot nicer.
Put the gas pedal to the floor and crank. Under 300rpm, you're in CLEAR FLOOD MODE
HEY! Hello Scott! Thumbs UP!!
I'd absolutely love to find a 96-98. The body on mine is toast. Been that way for several years and I'm not able to fix it on my own. Only way I can see getting one in good shape is from the south. Doesn't even have to run. I just need the body.
I drove Pontiacs for years and loved them. The last one was a grand am like that. That car broke me of the habit. That car would not run
The Grand Am revival channel 😁definitely bring it back to like new condition.
You amaze me. Great video..
Love the video!

I'm first today buddy . Good seeing you again .
I'm in texas. If you have a car that needs to be checked out at zero charge, I would help you out
Did the registration fees stack up during the 6 years? or did you make sure registration was on hold?
I was guessing Grand Am before you showed it.
Keep the silver tray to put under car tires with frozen brakes to slide the car on the car trailer.
you are a real pro Scott
Wow dude! Seeing that fat wallet of yours around the 14:00 mark, you must be really rich!! Oh, and the Smithsonian Museum is calling, they want their Viva 3 All Season Goodyear tires back. SMH
The wild part is that Walmart doesn’t even sell the Viva 3 anymore; It was replaced by the Reliant All Season back in 2022!
He knows a guy with an energy absorber, his name is Scott
LOL. as soon as you said "only Texas with non chrome wheels" I remembered seeing a bunch here in Massachusetts..... then you thru out this $hit hole states name LOL
Scott is the grand am king especially the gt grand ams 😂
I watched a high-end resto-mod done on here, and notices they didn't do the right stuff like he does, and spray wax into enclosed, but accessible areas, and pointed it out.
Great job on the $100.00 Grand AM.
Scott you look like a millionaire in that pos grand am. Just drive like it is.
You're making want to find one of these cars.
good video , thanks
Looks like it was a Texas Panhandle car. All that red sand. Glad it was in good condition.
Hey Scott, are you still searching for a new shop? I still have a truck I’d like you to do.
3.4l is quite a big engine for such a small car. Is the 3.4 related to the venerable GM 3.8l V6?
Another boring Friday at work saved by Scott.
34:27 flight attendant instructions- floatation devices in case of you know...
What's in the trunk is almost as fun as What's in the console!!!!
That was the safety experts for camera
