The front is a bit more solid now, but big disappointment on the front valance/nose. What should we do? Try and save it, find a donor car?
I don’t know what happened but suddenly I got an urge for a bowl of cereal with bananas ! Nice job I’ve been watching this car the whole way I’m glad you still have it and are still repairing it thanks for the ride with all the work your doing 👍
Thanks for the kind words, and I'm ready to get this one back on the road again!
You’ve got skills, Sean! Nice fab work and body work on the front driver’s corner. If your parts car source has a good front nose, just cut it out and bring it home!
Thank you! I picked up a few parts today including a nose!
Nature's path crunchy sunrise to fix a Corvair? Awesome!
Winner winner! Email me at autoanatomy@icloud.com and I'll send you a little something.
Email sent. Thank you!
I would be looking for a new nose panel too. Hope you find one!
thanks you make it look easy. i am in the same process. hope to see your next step. i am about ready to put the front . still working on the side panels.
Thanks! I’m ready to have it all done and get back to driving!
Another great video , keep up the great work, i love your videos , makes me wanna go buy another Corvair to start working on it .
Thank you! I’d love to find a wagon, van, or truck as my next build
@@AutoAnatomy I always wanted to build a Lakewood , with wood grain on the side and a surf board on top . We had Corvair and when I was a kid in the 80s , my brother is the reason I love Corvairs.
That sounds like a cool ride, and I'd love that as well!
Are you familiar with The Jayhawker?
Doing great work on a couple of Corvairs along with other great projects.
More importantly a great testimony.
I just found his channel a few days ago, need to watch more of his videos. Good stuff!
Great job Sean, from Shaun in the uk..
Thank you Shaun!
Shawn, you mentioned that you were going to look at a parts car for some replacement wheel well panels. while you're at it, how bout a look for replacement nose panels also.
Yep, that’s on the list of parts to find (hopefully)!
Nice background music. Tell me more.
Since you are going to see about some parts from other "Vairs(sad to hear as I need a 'Vair) then see what he has that can replace the nose piece. Clark's had a nose piece eons ago but they were so slow selling they didn't make a complete one again. It would have been perfect for your 'Vair though. One thing that is free to do but takes time and a bit of patience is flushing out the side rails that go from front to rear just beneath the doors. They have flaps(most are missing I bet) that you can flush water through them and get all the crap out of them. They are infamous for rusting because people don't take care of the Vair the way it needs to be taken care of.
I'd love to find a complete new front end, but may have to find a good junkyard piece.
Another setback Shawn, but you will get there eventually. Rebuilding a badly rusted Corvair is a tough job. It will probably be better than new when GM made it! Look at a donor car for the front pieces you need and compare time versus money and labor plus parts.
Thank you Robert!
Find a donor for the front valence/nose.
Yep, check out the newest video!
New nose piece! Easier
I think you’re right
