Don't know if you're still playing this with the new Definitive Edition, but just wanted to say your guide is immensely helpful. I'm no longer running around like a headless chicken.
Solid guide! A burner character is probably the best first time tip out there - I accomplished so much more so much faster on my second character after getting the hang of it. Can't agree more!!
@@shausgamingadventures I believe it - the game really does not hold your hand! Trying for a no defeat playthrough with the Holy Mission for the trophy - wish me luck!
@@shausgamingadventures thanks, I'll need it! Yeah, I've been seriously avoiding as much combat as required... Apparently the Holy Mission has (spoilers) an optional ending that can avoid having to participate in the final battle, for a long-term cost, so, that's what I'm shooting for... We'll see how it goes!
never pay blood price, get a bandage and go through the storage cave to the beach and give the guy on the beach a bandage for a free pass on the blood price. use the money earned on starter gear and a tent. Edit: looks like blue chamber, holy mission and heroic kingdom factions will accept the tribal favor for some things, so use best judgement on this on what faction you want to complete. never hold wood, but always hold an already crafted campfire, you never know when you need to pop one down in a dungeon and it only weighs 0.4 compared to the 3 wood it takes to make a campfire which is 0.9 i recommend putting things in your pocket that dont stack like cooking pot and tent, and if you are switching weapons or off hands, leave enough room in your pockets for your heaviest item to be put away in your pocket to not go over weight. when you know you are going into a big fight you can switch out your non stacking items with potions. Barrier will only reduce against one element at a time and doesnt reduce DoT's , so if hit with multiple elements at once barrier becomes much weaker, but this rarely happens. vs its Protection stat counter part which is a flat reduction of damage and is not limited to only physical damage. barrier is better for tanking magic hits, protection is good all round protection, but less effective with magic than barrier. dont forget to get the mushroom shield in Blister Burrow Cave and turn it into the lady in Cierzo off to the left when walking back into town whos on an elevated deck on a house who buys rare items for an additional 70 silver to buy stuff with. money is power
All great things. However I always pay the blood price. The money is easy to get before you even leave town the first time and the tribal favor you get can be used for a quest later.
Very thorough, much appreciated... just picked it up in the switch, and finally feel like ive got my head around wrapped around things much better now!! Totally earned the sub
Probably old news but at the beginning, once you get into the town, you can get a Tribal Favour from a little quest-task-thingy and you can use that so you don't have to pay the 150 silver and still keep your house.
I played hours an hours of this game on Xbox, I just recently bought it for PC (it’s on sale right now for $5.99 with all dlc if anyone is interested) after three years of not playing I really feel like I’m brand new to the game all over again which I love because I can get the full experience again.
Thanks for the tips, great video, you explain everything so well! Love the challenge of this game and I'm only an hour into it, looking forward to digging deeper. Gotta check out your other videos now.
Cool guide,I wander through the town, talk to everyone, and they have useful tips,it's like tutorial. I would just add that you don't have to pay 150 silver, you can go south at the beach (through the basement you mention) and you would end up on beach. At the middle there is a survivor, avoid bugs, save him (bring 1 bandage),and talk to Risa. You saved silver.
A much easier way to pay off your debt is to go out the town back door with a bandage, or a healing potion, make your way through the tunnel, you will eventually leave the cave and end up on a beach. Follow the shoreline avoiding combat, you will bump into an injured townsman, if you offer him the healing item you took with you, he will give you a piece of paper (I forget what it is called) that will clear your blood debt. You will still owe money, but your house is safe, and you can keep all your money.
Someone else already brought this up and as I told them, this is completely a beginner's guide. And that writ you get from him can be used later in a quest for one of the factions...which is a bit more than beginners
Thank you for making this video, I started playing the other day and lost the lighthouse died several times lost my gear all kinds of things and was getting a little frustrated, the fighting mechanics in this game are not good at all. After watching this, I think I will just start over .
hello! ive never seen your videos, and ive never heard of this game, but this came up in my recommended, and it was a treat to watch while i drew a picture for my friend! :)
Yes, that works. Also your weapon having fire buff helps a bit too. Very little though. When there is snow out, it won't be enough. Great for beginning though
This video is extremely helpful and insightful! Thankyou! A bit of feedback - I think your videos would be a bit more viewed/popular if you raised the bitrate when recording. When you move your character, the video turns into a bit of a blur of pixels and gets difficult to watch. Try recording at something like 10,000 bitrate, the files will be bigger but the image will be crisp!
Thanks! Glad video helped. Yea, most of the other videos are fine but during that one I had a setting changed. I didn't notice it until I recorded that one and another one. It is fixed now. Thank you for the feedback.
@@shausgamingadventures Ah that's a shame! I'll definitely be sure to check out your other videos. I just picked up the game myself on PS4 and it's got a hell of a steep learning curve, so I really appreciate your vids!
Liked and subbed. Best beginner guide I’ve found, thank you. I love this game. Only wish they had made a def version for PS4. Does storing food in your stash chest stop the decay?
Thank you. I haven't played since I made this guide so I don't fully remember but I don't think it does. Or if it does, it is at a much slower rate. Extremely slow rate. There is a backpack that will help with decay also. Different backpacks for different things. I'm going to start playing again soon.
Yea, all my other videos are fine. However on this one I had changed a setting on OBS and I didn't notice the crap quality until after the recording and editing and I wasn't about to do it all over again. Sorry 😆
Watching you spend 150 silver to do the blood price hurts my soul. All you need is a bandage. Go to the Cierzo storage, go through the cave and out the back and walk along the beach just a bit until you come up to a guy on the ground, give him a bandage and he will give you a tribal favor and you just saved 150 silver.
It hurts my soul you don't think I know this...😆. However, as I've said to others who didn't think I knew this.. That tribal favor can be used in other quests later to save you time. But I didn't mention this because this is a complete beginner's guide. 150 gold is way too easy to get especially since you get get it before leaving town.
I haven't brought the game yet bt the concept of the game looks interesting. I heard i can have sec controller player to help with my journey, without creating sec account like other games do. Me and my kitten will explore the world hehehe....Meow
