A few people asked where I bought the bolt kit for the rear beam. I didn’t buy a kit. I ordered the bolts separately from eBay Would you all be interested in seeing how I know what to order?
@@grantsearles511 but what's the point in buying the kit if you're hardly ever going to use it. Just sit on the shelf collecting dust and the fellas moving house
Great update, loving the progress with the Escort good luck with the move, hope your taking the ramp after all the effort, I'm doing the same, we are hoping to finally be out of this house after 40 years, Regards Russ..
Fair play to you Adam lad you are doing a mint job there mate. I am really proud of you Adam lad, you've come a long way in the restoration world since you did your Sapphire Cosworth! You've accomplished so much and you've learnt so many new skills, it won't be long before your starting your own Cosworth restoration business!!!...🤔 Keep up the good work Adam and please keep those videos coming... Regards, John 👍
If you’ve down or upgraded the garage I’ll still watch you and enjoy. Can’t wait to see you out of the road in the coming weeks giving her beans and smiling! What a machine ❤
Adam She's coming along nicely now. Made me happy when you chased out the bolt holes because your just struggling without doing it especially after painting and powder coating. Can't wait to see her back on the road pal.
Hats off to you Adam. The work you have done without referral to a Haynes manual.. (they were the books to have, back in the day for me, and I'm sure many other car enthusiasts). Keep up the good work.
haynes are crap these days, couldn't believe it when I bought one recently for the van. You can't get a book it's all online with a small selection of specs (the ones I needed were missing) and the instructions videos you got access to were generic, absolutely useless. Got a refund. nothing like the actual book I got for my bike, it showed you how to do everything and had just about every torque setting in. youtube is the best place these days (or the worst) and the internet has probably been the end for haynes
@@bigdosser7777I don't know about the latest manuals.. I was referring to the one's I had during the 80's. They were invaluable to any car enthusiast.
i just tap those bearing races in with a race driver,it gives a better feel when they are fully seated, also put them in the freezer overnight so they almost drop in
Puller was a great idea but it should have been machined as 2 flat discs to pull on the outer face of the races meaning there was zero chance of marking the surface the roller bearings are running on.
Well done to your efforts mate, been there many a time lol. Hats off to you for the Diff mount, and GGR bushes in the rear arms as you did it right, so many people used to just fit shitty powerflex bushes and then destroy the back end handling. !!!!!!
Forget using copper slip, get yourself a tube of duralac this is what is used on aircraft and yachts when you have different metals contacting each other’s surface best thing on the planet and not that expensive only need a tint bit really 💪💪
I love your videos and that fuel filler panel repair turned out fantastic!!! But im not joking when i say that my jaw dropped when i realized you were using an electric drill to clean the threads with a tap into aluminum!!! Please do that by hand. Cant wait to see the new garage setup
I hope when you get a new house you continue to do work in a garage at your new home, always thought it’s great the you do your videos from a home garage, makes it realistic and shows how anyone could manage this kind of thing, 👌👍
I would of cleaned the powder coating off the bolt mounting faces also when bolting the hub up as powder coating is thick and can become loose over time apart from that I would say that's a cracking job mate.
Great vid series mate. Such a shame your moving home just as you have finished your dream garage build. Wil you be building a new one on your new house?
Maybe a suggestion but if you put the bolt for the trailing arm in from the other side you won’t need to drop the rear beam to remove the trailing arm in the future.
After all the time and money you put into that garage that youve barely just finished with the compressor the insulation the 2 post ramp hardly no time to enjoy it now....hopefully youve got a plan though....cant believe 500notes for 4 bushes! Is the ramp staying behind?
Mate its so good seeing you proper go to town improving your Escort Cosworth, you will end up with one of the best in the UK! So good to see you cutting no corners and truly giving this beautiful motor the attention that it so rightly deserves. The love you have for these classic, legendary cars is blatant and so good to watch. These cars should be in the hands of proper owners like you and not some posh knobhead overprivileged twat that has only bought the car due to its reputation or as a potential investment and for not for genuine love for the breed. Your Cossie is superb and red will always be my favourite colour for a nice motor, so this is perfect!
If shit has hit the fan rent a conex container and put the full work shop in it even the furniture from the house, its not as expensive as you would think. Hope all is well bud
You selling your house by any chance mate you haven’t mentioned it 😂 shame about losing the garage hopefully you find a unit or something for working on the motors

Yes
Yes please Adam great work as always
aye i would, i'm going to do the same to my m3
I normally go on eBay or local Ford dealership parts department anything part wise is exspensive the magic number for Ford parts 909
The bloke who used to own it and passed away will be looking down on you with pride Adam. Fantastic work.
This young man deserves much respect for his work on this Escort. A massive 👍 from me matey.
Thanks Paul
Should always use a big socket to punch the dust seal in or an old bearing race
Use a seal driver kit, much safer
@@grantsearles511 but what's the point in buying the kit if you're hardly ever going to use it. Just sit on the shelf collecting dust and the fellas moving house

Love your videos Adam. Moved house yesterday sitting on my floor watching this on the tv
Happy new home Chris 👍🏼
Needs a video covering the loss of the garage Adam, i only hope your new garage is on a par with that of our good friend paul Linfoot 👍

I fully agree with what you've done, a tidy up of the worst bits to save it,now use it, and maybe another tidy up in future winters.

Love your attention to detail with new bolts and everything powder coated
Great to see it built back up. Hope you find a new storage place.
Great to see someone else cleaning threads. Not everyone thinks about that. Can make a 5hitty job that little bit easier 👍 great video bud.

I used the powerflex full car kit on my focus & Vibratechnics mounts. They are spot on, not too hard but noticeably firmer.
Rear hub bolts should be at least 10.9 tensile
That’s gonna drive superbly when finished, hopefully another garage is coming soon fella, cheers Adam 👍😉💪
Great job . Stop worrying about the garage everyone I’m sure he has something up his sleeve .
100% mate non of our business, we just want to hear the ch ch chooo of that turbo and see the smiles
great job again Adam looking forward to seeing this stunner back on the road top job
Glad you found connie🐙
As someone else said the enduro batteries are much better, ive never use a full battery yet 👍
Red wouldn't be my first choice but it definitely grows on you. They must be quite rare as I haven't seen many. Would look good on original wheels
Always sunny on your vids. Sun always shines in north east
I wish it was always sunny in the North East 😂
We don't know what sun is mate

Great job Adam , going together lovely , a lot of care as usual from you always 100% 👍👍
Love the skills of this guy. However, as I already mentioned, this car would have deserved a full floor sandblast.

Great content as always Adam 👌🏽man after my own heart cleans threads copper slips an no crusty hardware goes back on 👍🏽
Adam it would like nice painted white with the white and blue strips down the side of the car
Cracking job as always Adam. Thanks for the movie....
I would of cleaned the powder coating off the bolt mounting faces also when bolting the hub up as powder coating is thick and can become loose over time apart from that I would say that's a cracking job mate.
Nice work. Suggest you fit the outer control arm bolts the other way around so you can get them out insitu.
Cant wait on the news of the new garage...
Are them races not machine matched to the bearings? And i hope them bearings got more packed off camera 😬
I would mark all nuts and bolts, that you had tighten to the spec with the paint marker or small brush and paint, so you know where you are
Cracking content Adam. Attention to detail spot on. Id love this car 😊
Adam you are a legend my friend.. 👍 you’re doing a grand job 👌👌👌
Now that was an amazing g job adam hats off 2 u getting that all back together & the new parts look amazing nice 1 mate 👍
Top of the range content Adam as always . Looking fresh she is 👌🏻 lovely summer motor . Real head turner. Enjoy fella 👍🏻
Your doing a good job Adam but if you put the bearing shells in the freezer for an hour they should drop into place without forcing them in.
Fantastic job Adam. I'm a fanny like that. All needs to be perfect. Good lad 👍
looks like you didnt pack the rear wheel brearings good enough they should be packed with full of grease so you can see the grease pushing out ;)
😊cracking car Adam and you are doing are a fantastic job. Good luck 🤞 with your house move 😊😊
Is the battery flat on the ugga dugga gun
Brilliant work mate. Love the channel 👍🏻
Why are you losing the garage? Cheers
He's moving!
Can I ask - Ford Genuine parts of Motorcraft ? Do you have a preference ?
why you moving out mate.. that garage was class
The bearing track and roller bearing are matched and should not be mixed up
Looking forward to the new unit coming as a garge set up like pauls im thinking 😅
Question please, where did you get those taps from that you've stuck in the drill?
I'm doing a few bits and bobs and need something like that
Thanks
Brilliant work Adam.
Should be using a thread chaser not a tap, taps are sharp and the dirt can cause the tap to cut and make the thread loose, just saying
Good point
Thanks for sharing Adam. Your winning man
Always enjoy the content on the channel & best of luck with all the plans ahead there now 👍👍👍
Where did you buy the bolt kit for the rear beam?
Cracking job Adam, keep the videos coming. Love it.

Are you moving in with paul adam ?
Yes😂 me and Paul are in a relationship now 😘
Hi mate love your channel I’m a subscriber from Australia, my wife is originally from Newcastle (Gateshead)
We’re did you get all the bolts?
Nice job my friend congratulations... Beautiful Escort...❤
Thank you 🤗
bearing race in the freezer. hit the hub with a blow torch to warm it up, bearings drop straight in, no tools required!
Yeah I’ve heard of that
Maybe a suggestion but if you put the bolt for the trailing arm in from the other side you won’t need to drop the rear beam to remove the trailing arm in the future.
Wouldn’t go Malcolm. The gap is to small both sides
Also don't tighten the bolt while the arm is hanging down .do it once the weight of the car is on it
@@Adam151082 suppose it’s a way ford use to make sure that bolt can never work its way out.
@@mk3escort84that shouldnt affect anything in this case, he has fitted the proper spherical bearings, otherwise i would agree with you 👍
Good effort 👍, however you really should torque everything to the correct settings especially the bearing tensions….
