My favorite quote concerning the home signs. "It's a bit like being in a self help book."
Sophie said it so direct, "You are selling your house...not your lifestyle", think this couple wasn't hearing to the Pros, she need it to speack them like that. and it got sold, perfect, that was the goal.
The stager and the realtor BOTH told them to tone down the wall colors. They are professionals in this field. Take their advice, especially when your property is not selling.
Really, that IS the problem.. not "offending" someone with the signs that say 'love', 'family' and 'aspire'!
I absolutely HATE the message signs. I agree the blue and brown paint have to go.
LOVE the front and backyard, the gardens are exquisite. Smart getting rid of that hot tub!
The days when a third viewing was an option and you could purchase the house at the listed price. 2021 & 2022, at least in my city, homes are being bid on over asking with no conditions and often no inspection because of the competition and demand.
Man, I bet the neighbors were relieved when that garage door was painted.
It's funny having seen the UK episodes now hearing Sophie say that blue isn't working for her when she just painted someone's kitchen a garish blue color two episodes ago on the UK version (Bradford.)
I guess she has a thing for only certain shades of every color.
Was that show a reno, or staging like this one?

The garage and trim was the first major deterrence.... the periwinkle was severely over powering..
At least they attempted to depersonalize...
The neighbors I am sure stood outside and applauded over the new garage color.......
“Please remove your shoes” is bossy??It’s standard here in Canada and other countries! Who wants people dragging dirt and mud into their house? Crazy!
Agree. I will have shoe covers for visitors. I don’t like sweaty feet too, for those I’d rather for them to wear their shoes.
What a gorgeous home! In many areas, like Hawaii, shoes are never worn inside. I’ve also asked ppl to remove shoes forever. But I suppose the sign is different.
My carpets look terrible because my family doesn’t agree.

I looked at a house once that had 28 inspirational message signs. The kitchen had a big message that said "Kitchen". I asked the realtor if that room was the kitchen because I wasn't quite sure.
Almost as bad as a HUGE garage door front & center. No one needs the signs!! I EAT when my stomach growls.

Those sellers are dim. Even though the sellers were told what changes were needed by professionals they didn’t change. The things wrong with the house reflect what’s wrong with the sellers.
I suspect more the dog smell than the colors as an issue. When you think OMG I will have to change all the carpets and maybe paint to get rid of the smell (whatever the color was there first) And we NEVER see bathrooms... neither know if the owners are smoking. Smell: of course TH-cam does not offer that feature;

I hated the kitchen before, but now I find it boring.
I hate having to change my home to please others! If we ever move again, we will declutter, but no changing.
In always amazed how buyers will look at other people stuff..."I don't like that couch.... the bedroom furniture is too big..." or when they obsess about a wall painted a color they don't like.
You can buy a can of paint and they couch doesn't come with the house!
I’m shocked people can’t see beyond color and furnishings to see square footage and location. Seems like it would sell at a lower price and be a great deal for the buyer

I love the hyacinth blue, but not everyone does.
When I’m tired, can’t sleep and Say Yes To The Dress with Gok doesn’t have any new videos I check out Sophie and see what’s up with her.
She is happily formulaic in her videos and I always wonder how the sellers are chosen and the crew is good to go.
This one was such a teaching moment for the realtor; I respected her so much for her willingness to conversate with Sophie so she could grow her skills for the future. I’m confident she has a bright future.
This segment seemed unusually contrived. The ambiance they created, with their best intentions, just didn’t cut it. I’ve always wondered it sellers met some kind of criteria for their appearance.
And last of all I’ve repeatedly wondered why low income homeowners aren’t featured.

Blue and brown is ugly, hate the "farmhouse" random lettering signs. Kids room to juvenile or toddler like for the age of the boys, hate wallpaper anyhow. Anything would be an improvement, many people dont want to move in and start painting!

I think it is very sad that people can't see beyond paint and a few signs. People want that perfect move-in ready house that is going to come at a price for that next 30 years.

box of shoe covers. They are inexpensive and work well. So take that stupid sign away, and add those covers!!!
I love how they condition us to think that half a million dollars is priced to be sold quickly. The real estate world is a sham and a joke on us to make us slaves to the Banksters who actually own the home. Miss a few payments and tell me I’m wrong.

Still no regrets from my husband and I who bought a home years ago. Will be mortgage free in a couple of years and retiring at 55. Home ownership helps accumulate generational wealth.
That's Tardis blue not 'electric' blue on the garage. I liked it but the advice to remove it for sale was good advice.
Just take down the basketball hoop and paint the blue arch while. The garage door is fine.

If both houses would cause them to be $1.1 million in debt, that means that they have almost NO EQUITY accrued in their present home.
Street stupid and house poor is a crappy way to live your life.
Love this show, but I don't understand how the signs wld offend anyone, they are all positive.
Original blue much better. Better yet, I would have painted it black along with the walkway lights and side lights as well. Farmhouse look. Curb appeal beats cookie cutter. You want your house to stand out not blend in.
