Academy Minicraft 1/48 P-38 J Lightning - Kit Review

A video review of the Academy Minicraft, 1/48 scale, P-38J Lightning, Kit No. 2126. An Initial Release model, from 1994.
Focus of this P-38 kit, is the personal aircraft of the Pacific War Ace, Col. Charles H. MacDonald, "Putt Putt Maru". Col. MacDonald was the 3rd highest scoring U.S. Ace, at the end of the war in The Pacific.
This older style kit features a detailed cockpit, recessed panel lines, choice of weapon stores, includes rubber tyres, and markings specific to MacDonald's fighter aircraft.

Hopefully you won't find anything. More than likely it's just my particular kit. It was bought 2nd hand so may have been sitting somewhere warm. Cheers!

I’ve got this kit and the rubber tyres didn’t cause any problems.Might be that I’m in the U.K and the colder climate helped,maybe?..Great review and video of a good kit.Thanks and all the best👍

Thanks for the comment. True, Oz does get quite warm sometimes, and it's possible the previous owner had this in the garage or somewhere. But it's not irreparable, so we'll see. Cheers mate!
