Very nice! However, the propellers were placed on the wrong sides. The blades are set for inward rotation over the top of their arcs- they should rotate outward.
Unbelievable. You'd swear that thing was made out of metal. I was looking for videos before starting this kit and this one is top level. Did it inspire me or make me feel that I should not even attempt it? I'll go ahead and give it a shot, but I'll be glad if it looks like the box art compared to your masterpiece. Perhaps in the future I can utilize some of your techniques and build a more professional finished product. YOU ARE A MASTER!
@@ofmodelsandmonsters it is a very beautiful model and I appreciate the work very much. Didnt want to be critical just point out a fix that you could easily do. Great job!
@johnwilliams-uq2gx No problem, in fact I remembered that the props had those rubber poly caps, so I was able to easily swap them out. Thanks for pointing that out.
So glad you're into our hobby. The great thing about Tamiya kits though is that you rarely ever have fit issues and there usually aren't too many parts, so they're great for beginners. Just keep at it, do your research, and have fun.
I'm very aware now that the props were on the wrong sides, I've fixed them since then so all you rivet counters can relax now.
Excellent job building and painting your Tamiya P-38J Lightning and thank you for posting your video too!
Whooo just ordered this kit from Spru Brothers! Great timing for me to find your builds.
Have fun.
my god man thats a work of art !!!!!! simply stunning !!!!
Gracias mi hombre.
most excellent work 👌
What an amazing job on that Lightning! I'd be happy if mine turns out even half as good as yours.
@@vincemokry9643 Muchas gracias. I'm sure yours will look awesome.

Beautiful model, excellent video. I admire your patience!
Glad you enjoyed it.

@RickBoomer Thank you so much Rick. I'm glad you're going for it and I believe in you.
Great build! Another kit I have to get out of my stash.
Yes, you should. You won't be disappointed.
A true master at work
That means a lot to me, muchas gracias.
To do All that Special Detail you must really Know your subject Well.........OUT FUCKING STANDING! A BEAUTIFUL Work of Art Indeed.
Nice model. What brand of paint and color or colors did you use on nose and engine ? It doesn’t look like olive drab.
It's Vallejo Model Air N41 Dark Olive Drab, and I agree it doesn't quite look like normal olive drab. Next time I might add a little dark brown.
Beautiful model but I must point out the props are on backwards. Us p38 props spin to the outside. Towards the wingtips not towards the fuselage.
Sorry, I'm a little confused. How can you tell if I have them on backwards?
@@ofmodelsandmonsters you can tell by the pitch of the blades. They have a leading edge that cuts into the air. Does that make sense?
@johnwilliams-uq2gx Okay, I see it now. I guess I didn't keep track of which prop went where.

Looks cool. 👍
I so want to build one of these but my skill level is beginner..I can only dream of making one of this standard
