Incredible build, one of the best I've seen on the P-38 . Recently retired and getting back to modeling after a very long sabbatical I am starting over on all the materials you used to paint and added details. Especially the rivits , I'm surprised they held up to all the additional applications. I'll save this video for my return to modeling learning curve and subscribe
Wow, that was mind blowing good! Probably the best I’ve seen in this subject. Those 3D rivets are awesome, definitely will have to look into those! Congratulations on a phenomenal build!
Best aircraft model built I have ever seen (and there are some other veeeery good ones out there…..). I admire your patience in dealing with the many add-ons.
Excellent build. Having just built my first kit in many years (with my 11 year old son!) .. Airfix Jet Provost.. I found the ideas in your video have inspired me to try some of them. Best wishes from Ireland
Exelente video.
As others have said it's one of the best Tamiya's P-38's yet to be seen so far ! As the video went on I wondered why you did not use the new resin engine detail sets, as usual something you could have added comes out AFTER your done with the build !! Beautiful and a very clean build !!
Excellent work! Congratulations! Maybe the nex time you should write more informations in the video ( paints mixing ratio etc.) but it's okay! Go ahead! :)
I am not saying it doesn't look good because it looks fantastic. If anyone is interested though, that's about $334.00 USD in 2022 worth of model and aftermarket goodies (mostly aftermarket). It does look good though. I really do like those rivets.
What would be cool is make one of the experimental P--38s. They only built two, but they had Packard Merlin engines and propellers from the Mustang. Depending on which rumor you believe, it had a top speed from 450 mph to over 500. They also took a P-47 and shoe horned an even bigger engine into it, where they found a bigger engine I couldn't guess. It had a 500 mph top speed and was intended to intercept V-1s but the Germans started using V-2s and it was shelved.
A very cool movie. I'm most curious about how the polishing of these printed elements turned out in the end. I keep wondering if their quality is good enough up close.
The overall finish is quite good, the surface appears very smooth, even at very close distance. I've seen several other plane models in "natural metal" finish here on youtube, but they mostly have a dowdy look because of a pronounced "orange skin" effect, already visible farther away. The reason might be insufficiently diluted paint or paint that dried too quickly. Seems to be a little difficult to find the correct mixture...
I noticed there's quite a bit of difference in the detail on the Brassin and Space cockpits. Anyone know if this is just because of limitations of the process or is are they actually representative of different versions of the cockpit? Awesome build btw. I really want to build one of these myself someday.
ABSOLUTELY beautiful job on this model. Great job on your video too, but I'm not a fan of the music as I think it needs to be a much softer and quieter tone.
Thank you all for your feedback. I don't use a compressor. I use a pressure cylinder from a breathing apparatus as an air source. I work as a firefighter...
Can you list down all the tools you use and parts that you bought separately I’m a newbie I really want to do that kind of hobby I have a gundam can you do a battle effect on gundam
Thank you all for your feedback. I'm sorry, but it's not in my power to describe all the procedures in detail in one video. In each of the videos, I try to describe one technique thoroughly. Here are positive rivets, next time weathering will be with the help of watercolor crayons. I am also preparing, among other things, winter camouflage on airplanes... Thank you for your understanding.
Thank you all for your feedback. I am very sorry that my models have put you off building kits. My intention is the exact opposite. To attract as many people as possible to building models and inspire them a little. Try again...
@@DetailsScaleModels It was a joke - I built them all and have moved on. And the idea of having to blend the correct color red for the throttle knob on a Sturmovik is well beyond my point of diminishing return.
The bulges in the rear are radiators , Very difficult to find 1941 drawing this plane , In this moment curved exhaustion structure with exhaustion opening facing the sky , beside the cop pit , for muffle the attacking sound , as stealth , thus the product from area 51
Simply the best p38 I have ever seen in model form. Congratulations on such wonderful work. Inspiring.
To many extra pieces in the proces, its a wonderful work with the model. Great class. I like thet music....

Looks like a typical Tamiya kit. Superb engineering.
Great video. Thanks for the side-by-side comparisons, very helpful.

Paradni prace, naprosto perfektni tutorial a vysledek je majstrstyk!

That was a outstanding build sir, the extra etch and 3D details really made the kit stand out, best regards from Australia.
Absolutely amazing and beautiful build! Bravo, bravísimo!
Absolutely beautiful build. I have learned a lot. Thank you

Thank you for sharing a build that is beyond words, fantastic work in every regard
Great description and a superb finish. Thanks 😘
Amazing build.. congratulations 🎊 👏
Just amazing and Incredible talents!
Awesome build!
Very cool!🤗 I finished the Hasegawa 48th 38J last month in these markings!

supercool result, my hat´s off to your skills Sir!

Once again Josef stunning build...! Is not easy to get aftermarket here... cheers from Argentina!
Hi buddy, your p-38 looks amazing with all the details you have added. Cheers Gary 🇬🇧

Děkuji za pochvalu. S kvalitou záznamů bojuji, focení mi jde lépe... Příště to snad bude lepší.
Excellent work! The rivets look great on the metal finish and the subtle weathering is outstanding. Maybe you could add chapters to the video...
Hahaha i was about to comment about the engine upgrade when you mentioned it! The instructions for it looks WILD
Good job, kit came out nice. Thanx for sharing.
Stunning work! Thank you.
first time seeing the rivet decals in use. Looks like you didn't have any issues taping over them in later steps of painting? Excellent work!
Very nice weathering and finish work👍
Beautiful! I would like to see how you would do a Jimmy Doolittle B-25B.
Great result 👍
Fabulous build. This must have taken many hours given the PE and Rivets ...
Thank you all for your feedback. It took less than a month to build.
Looks absolutely incredible!
Un lavoro speciale, tou sei bravissimo!!

Fantastic work. No varnish over the metallic paint?
Thank you all for your feedback. With Mr.Color Super Metallic, no varnish is needed...
@@DetailsScaleModels great!!!! Did not know 😄
Bert good job man 👍🥇
Did you do a final varnish over this at all? Wondering how to seal it all in. Semi gloss?
Thank you all for your feedback. After the wash, I applied a matte varnish. Then no more varnish. The surface is not monotonous, which I like.
ABSOLUTELY beautiful job on this model. Great job on your video too, but I'm not a fan of the music as I think it needs to be a much softer and quieter tone.
What was your supercharger/compressor painting method/paints used?
Thank you all for your feedback. I don't use a compressor. I use a pressure cylinder from a breathing apparatus as an air source. I work as a firefighter...
Sorry I meant what colors did you use and how did you paint the P-38 supercharger? Thanks!
Sorry, I didn't get it... I first sprayed the compressors with C131 brown and then used different shades of Vallejo paint.

WOW
P 38 is my favorite airplane of ww2.
very nice
At 20,33 . whats the number of the sanding paper?
Thank you all for your feedback. The sandpaper number is 150 or 200. I can't remember exactly...

What ratio are you thinning your paint?
I dilute the color according to feeling. Different every time. It depends a lot on how thick the paint is in the bottle...
That makes since!! I noticed how well the paint laid down and was curious!
amazing build, music a little distracting
Hezká práce. A TAMIA? no coment. ..
I stopped building models back when glue only came in a tube and dinosaurs roamed the earth. This has convinced me to not start back up.

Not a big fan of eduard's 3d printed parts on the large scale. The small stuff not too bad but those print lines are hideous.
Great work and wonderful details but your choice of music is tragic, just let your work shine .

Oh C'mon, anybody can build a snap-tite model!
Nicely dirty. +1
Who else watches these videos thinking they can make decent models, to conclude one’s skills are actually about 1/10 compared to these guys?
Tamija! Not a good look when you can’t even get the title right!
Error fixed, thank you for the heads up.
