I’ve just bought this kit and will use the techniques you used in this build. Thank you so much for sharing. I absolutely love this channel. Cheers Les
the painting process isnt whay i would have done. this video has cause me a massive rethink before i tackle my dauntless. this finish is excelleny. thanks for posting
I often watch your videos and think to myself - what is he doing that for or why, it just looks wrong. Only for time after time to be astounded at the end result. Whatever you do it always seems to work out. 😊😊😊❤😊😊😊
Wonderful build and video. Like the white primer, preshading with pin wash method you’ve shown in the least couple of videos, especially for interiors and light colored camo.
While watching this build unfold was amazing, I cant imagine putting this much time and effort into a finish! I can fully appreciate the artistry but I'll forego this kind of detail in favor of more time for other models. Watching you do this, though, that I have time for, lol!
Lovely build. I really liked the preshading idea of sprinkling paint with the brush. Made a nice but subtle effect. Also, your airbrush control is very professional. I can never manage to get the paint ratio right. Either it spits or runs. Anyway, great finished model.👍
I really like this white primer preshading method you have been showing in the past couple videos. Been trying it on an interior of a bomber I've been working on. Figured since it gets buttoned up pretty good it couldn't hurt to experiment there and I've really enjoyed the results. I liked how the exterior was looking in application too, but agree with you that it's much more effective on a white or perhaps light grey surface. Be great to see it on a modern jet where it could really pop the otherwise grey color scheme. Also, the Academy 1/48 Dauntless is also a rebox of this same Accurate Miniatures kit, fwiw.
What a fantastic build your vids are fantastic to watch such great skills I never git tiered of watching. Thanks your time and effort putting these vids together it is very much appreciated.
Congratulations on a beautiful model! The effects you achieved on both surfaces are superb. Also the music in the background made it even more enjoyable!
I build 1/72 and 1/35 scale German armor...but I really enjoyed this! Picked up a few tips that'll work with armor as well, too. And the end result of your build was FANTASTIC! 🙂👍
Me too, years ago I bought their peral harbor set, SBD-1 and a Vindicator. Both were painted the light gray scheme, since I've built their 1/72 scale F4 Phantom, and in the the stash I have SBC He'll Diver
Between the Dauntless -5 and -3 versions I've built 5 accurate kits. If you're careful, you get a gorgeous model. If you prefer a 1/32 kit, the Trumpeter kit is like an upscaled Accurate kit. You have done an amazing job on this build. I may have to dig up another Dauntless kit and try this weathering method.
Hello Rahmi, I was waiting for the second part of Ki-84 Hayate... However I didn't mind watching this technique and tools practice 🙂, the Dauntless was a significant aircraft of their opponent. And the old moulds from Accurate Miniature are not obsolete yet. Hopefully you will return to the Ki-84 build soon. Browsing through your older videos, I've realized that the build video from the Starfighter was also incomplete...
Hi Radu, thank you for your comment. Ki-84 will be completed in early 2024. I need to build a ship, jet aircraft and a car first. Also I am building very interesting and expensive model right now and hoping to complete this year. AM kits still way better than most of modern kits imo. I have in my stash and will build a few original AM kits like Vindicator later. TF-104Gs fuselage is twisted. I will fix it when I get some motivation to make it. Take care!
I started one of these Dauntless kits. But all the ejector marks and trouble with the interior parts made me stop. Maybe I should get back to it now that I've seen what can be.....
Sorry when you say "ratio in the mix %40" is that paint to thinner? %40 paint to %60 thinner? If so which kind of thinner do you use? Is there a specific Tamiya thinner or is it something like isopropyl alcohol?
@@Scaleaton I'm writing out a little airbrushing cheat sheet/tips and tricks document for myself. So I can go back and reference things. So thanks a lot!
Elinize kolunuza sağlık üstat. O perçinleri atarken her bastırdığınızda içim gitti valla.
This is a way more detailed kit than the old Revell kit i picked up. Well done
I’ve just bought this kit and will use the techniques you used in this build. Thank you so much for sharing. I absolutely love this channel. Cheers Les
Great practice for ones air brush skills and a lot of patients !

Have you ever put your pieces in a competition? These are breath-taking
I have a soft point for SBDs... This one is one of THE best builds of this "Slow But Deadly" classic. Thank you
Thank you very much for your kind comment Alex!
I LOVE your weathering results! Thanks for sharing your methods. I hope to be half as good as you are one day!

I’m happy to see you building aircraft again 😊! Good job, awesome building Rahmi
Hi Daniel, thank you so much!
Love your paintwork my friend.... cheers from Argentina!
Excellent weathering job, that surfaces are beautiful with the effects that you made, than you for sharing this model!

Fantastic work 👍😎
Revell did a rebox of this kit not to long ago and released it as a new tool kit !
More like a new box and not much else lol.

Great job Rahmi, looks good.
Learning a lot from your videos, you have great skills, thanks for sharing.
You transform any simple kit in a piece of art.
Well done again.
*Amazing post-ombrage paint work, and the result is fabulous! Congrats!*
Thanks for this series. Really learning many tricks...!!
Epic results, the paint job is superb!
Fantastic job. I love Accurate Miniatures kits.

Really nice build and painting techniques!
Great job. Love the weathering!
Great painting technique
The Academy has taken over Accurate Mold
I remember when it used to be a cheap trademark... Today, it makes very accurate models...

Directly out of the box but..
Amazing job dude! 👏👏👏
Need to pick one of these up again. Still have a website copy of AM's build series where they step by step build their kits.
Im not sure if you’ll answer this question but for the meters in the cockpit what did you use to make the glass effect? 9:35
It's Tamiya X-22
Pure inspiration for me!!!
Hermoso trabajo. Felicitaciones!
Really cool weathering.
Great build wow 😎 what white pencil did you use for detail of the instruments
It's Lyra Polycolor Light Gray
You are the master!
I'm looking forward to seeing a nother car model from you 😊

Without after market... fantastic
That SBD would look great sitting on a flight deck diorama.
Absolutely superb
Good job 👍
superbe montage....comme toujours, bravo l'artiste👍
Great tutorial! What type of paint are using? Acrylic, oil or? I assume you are airbrushing at a very low pressure....
Only gunze and tamiya acrylics. Yes it's like 10 psi
Very nice job o' work.....👍🏻👏🏻👌🏻
Fantastic job sir! Well done
what # is the blade you're using to cut out canopy masks at 3:15? It looks like a very short blade or is it just chucked deeply?
It's a very handy knife. olfa.com/collections/olfa-hand-tools/products/olfa-ak-5-designer-graphic-art-knife-w-30-replacement-blades with KB-5 Blades.
@@Scaleaton Excellent! Thank you!
Amazing vídeo! As always.
Great video
What type of paints do you use and brand?
Thanks
I use only Tamiya and Gunze acrlyics for these type builds.
Magnificent!
woo! great job
Thanks for your share
Lovely build
I started one of these Dauntless kits. But all the ejector marks and trouble with the interior parts made me stop. Maybe I should get back to it now that I've seen what can be.....
Thank you for this video, could you name the brand of pencils?
Lyra Polycolor Lightgray and Prismacolor 949
Sorry when you say "ratio in the mix %40" is that paint to thinner? %40 paint to %60 thinner? If so which kind of thinner do you use? Is there a specific Tamiya thinner or is it something like isopropyl alcohol?
Hi, yes %60 thinner. Depends on which paint I use. In this case Tamiya X-20A for acrylics, Mr Color Lacquer Thinner for varnish and lacquers.
@@Scaleaton I'm writing out a little airbrushing cheat sheet/tips and tricks document for myself. So I can go back and reference things. So thanks a lot!

Great modelling techique!

Coul you please explain how to use metallic pencil? I tried to do the same like you but the result was not good. Do you use water?
Great job! 👏🏻
Not bad for a test build. The technique is almost like watercolor painting, aquarel.
Yes! Figure painting has contributed a lot to me. Still, I'm not very good at painting figures yet.
日本語字幕ありがたい。とても上手ですね
BEST DAUNTESS EVER SAW FRIEND "DETROIT"
Very good!
Love it
nice 👍🏼👍🏾👍🏿👍👍🏻👍🏽
beau résultat pour cet avion mythique ... congrest ...
10/10!
What is the pencil?
It looks like italeri sent a spy to academy to get information on the dauntless
👏👏👏👏👏
mmm, no unit numbers or squadron markings?
Italeri decals not the best part of this kit.
👍👍
😊👍👍👍
