    way easier way to run the wire through the firewall there is a little rubber gasket that goes through and you can push through there instead of going outside the door area

    Thanks for showing me how to install this exact light which I just bought. I'm night blind and going through the Eisenhower/Johnson tunnels on I-70, which are 1.7 miles long each way, is absolutely terrifying.
    Since traffic is one way in each tunnel, this will get me through the tunnels safely without killing me or my fellow drivers. There are lights in the tunnel, but they are so filthy and weak, they might as well not be there for me being night blind.
    I was surprised at the number of comments from those who try to make themselves feel good by making others feel bad by complaining about running the switch wire through the door seal rather than through the firewall. This light is not a fixture on the space shuttle and I sure am not going to drill a hole through the firewall of my car. I'll do it just like you did it. It will work fine and you know the saying, "Perfection is the enemy of good enough".
    Thanks again!

    @LilFrisk3232 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Does the built in fuse box for the light prevent it from draining the battery since it's directly connected to the battery? I'd like to get the ditch lights and the light bar but I don't want them to suck my battery dry.

    Why are you so afraid to touch the truck? That switch should’ve run through the firewall. If you hate the look of “accessories” why did you go with a stick-on switch? If you want it clean, do it right. Hard wire it to an OEM style dash switch.

      Truck Master Yeah exactly, I was a little hesitant at first for drilling holes in my cab but then I thought about: "I installed a cab visor and drilled multiple holes, whats the difference of a few more". I like it though I use it when I'm getting outta the woods from hunting and fishing I hunt and fish right till dark most times and it's better than my high beams on my truck. Plus I use it on back roads sometimes unless theres traffic

    • @847MicRoss
      @847MicRoss 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It probably wont kill the battery, but yes it should be off when the lights are not in use. Also don't run your wires through the door jam or fenders. With the car door opening and closing they have the potential to be pinched which could later cause a short.

      These lights would not be legal in probably any state for highway driving. I'm just using it to get through some very dark tunnels about 2 miles long on I-70 that I travel now and then. The tunnel lighting is terrible and I'm night blind, so this light bar will help. It's one way traffic in the tunnel, so I probably can away with using them for a few minutes. I go through in the daytime, but the tunnels are darn near pitch black to my old eyes.

    Couldn’t you just run the ground on to the negative terminal on the battery cuz that’s what it is a ground......??

    Wire routed outside the seal heading directly for the fuse panel - check. Let's go mudding.

    Thanks for the video, I couldn't for the life of me figure out how the bar mounted to my nudge bar.

    Thanks for making it so simply an installation. I found a rubber cover on the left hand side where one of the A/C hose goes trough and stuck it in there so that the rubber on the door doesn't get worn out and also to keep the water from going inside when is raining hard.

      +Carlos Lemus thanks for the comment I wish I could go back and fix the video but since then I ran the wires through the rubber grommet on the driver side firewall

    Pretty sure I’m the directions it says to run the black wire on the negative terminal on the battery and that cube is why you ground out 🤣

    Good run thru. Only thing, why not run the harness through the firewall for a cleaner install. Other than that thank you.

    Does the red light stay on on the cab ? And if so does it drain the battery?

    • @847MicRoss
      @847MicRoss 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you wire it correctly the red light is off when the LED bar is off.

      Danky Dank it has two options to wire it up.
      Option 1 allows you to connect it to the ignition switch so the light bar switch will only work if your ignition is turned on and the red light will be off if your key is off.
      Option 2 is direct wired which allows you to turn the light bar on whether your ignition is turned on or off.
      And the little red LED light pulls less amperage then the memory in your radio.

      @@alexmilburn1315 could be a bad plug or the light could be bad, you can test the light on a drill battery
