Thanks for showing me how to install this exact light which I just bought. I'm night blind and going through the Eisenhower/Johnson tunnels on I-70, which are 1.7 miles long each way, is absolutely terrifying. Since traffic is one way in each tunnel, this will get me through the tunnels safely without killing me or my fellow drivers. There are lights in the tunnel, but they are so filthy and weak, they might as well not be there for me being night blind. I was surprised at the number of comments from those who try to make themselves feel good by making others feel bad by complaining about running the switch wire through the door seal rather than through the firewall. This light is not a fixture on the space shuttle and I sure am not going to drill a hole through the firewall of my car. I'll do it just like you did it. It will work fine and you know the saying, "Perfection is the enemy of good enough". Thanks again!
way easier way to run the wire through the firewall there is a little rubber gasket that goes through and you can push through there instead of going outside the door area
This was SUPER helpful brother. 11pm at night over here getting it all installed thanks to you man! Amazing tutorial! Thank you for sharing with all of us! 🙏😎💯
I have been wanting to install one of these, but didn't know how to route the switch. Thanks for the tutorial. It makes it totally easy now. Great job 👍
So glad I found this video. I'm about to add a light bar and grill guard on my van. I was wary about bolting to my vehicle. This is a great idea mounting it on the grill guard.
Man, I want to start by thanking you for sharing this video. I have bought an E350 4x4 Van with a long 50inch light bar on the top. I recently bought the same wiring harness as the one you used and was having seconds thoughts if I could wire the light bar on my own or not. This video convinced me and helped me do it on my own.
"ya I'm not a big attachment guy"...has a 6 inch lift, bigger tires and rims, aftermarket tow mirrors, bullbar, and this video is about putting a light bar on haha that kills me...thanks for the video rather than that tho
I’m 16 I have a 08 2500 vortec and I got one of these light bars and had no clue how to install it but I got it all done in like 35 minutes with this video thanks
Thanks for making it so simply an installation. I found a rubber cover on the left hand side where one of the A/C hose goes trough and stuck it in there so that the rubber on the door doesn't get worn out and also to keep the water from going inside when is raining hard.
+Carlos Lemus thanks for the comment I wish I could go back and fix the video but since then I ran the wires through the rubber grommet on the driver side firewall
I have a rough country bull bar on my Silverado 1500 Z71. It's an 04' so I have the same body style. I appreciate this video man. Helped me a ton with my install. My bull bar came with two rubber grommets for the pre drilled light bar holes. Helped with fumbling with the bolts. Lol. I'm a bull in a China shop but again thank you so much for the video!! Keep em coming bro!
Couple suggestions. One dont wire through the door jam. two is possible use the accessory wire (typically brown) coming out of the steering hoist. This way when you turn off the truck the lightbar will turn off as well.
wow that's really bright, i just ordered a 12" nilight bar to mount on my polaris outlaw 525 irs quad lol. i think i wanna get a few bars for my truck now!
Wow ...You made a great vid and should be franchised...no kidding...great explanation, tagged major issues with the harness mounting made the product, a gotta have accessory. Thanks and it took a bit of latent feer of screwing up the first time for a guy at 70 to do a first. Have a new/used hybrid and huge battery source for light...or marine epower and maybe run a boat for a while once I get the harness and release mechanism assembled. Happy Trails
Thanks. Good video. I think the only thing I'm going to do before I do this is use RTV on the light bar. I saw another video with how to take these apart and do that, just in case. Mine, same brand, came with a plug that doesn't mount like yours in the video does. It's the round kind. But I just checked and the other plug seems to attach to the wire, so I might swap them.
Because of how easy you made it look in this video, I ordered a 42" and wiring harness from them. I hope I can install it as easy as you made it look. We'll see...
I installed one on my f150. Works great just where it connection is way to short since my battery is on the passenger side I have to reach all the way over to turn on and off
Does the built in fuse box for the light prevent it from draining the battery since it's directly connected to the battery? I'd like to get the ditch lights and the light bar but I don't want them to suck my battery dry.
I ran mine to a switch under my hood and connected my power and ground to my fog lamps so when I turn on my fog lamps from inside the truck it will also turn on my light bar and if I don't want it to I just throw the switch under the hood and I can continue to use my fog lights without the light bar
The thing that sucks about that is I have that exact same thing mounted on the front of my truck (I don't know what they are called sorry) and I wanted to mount a 24'' bar there but thats where my dale earnhardt license plate is and that aint comin off so I just got a 42'' and mounted it on top of the cab
Truck Master Yeah exactly, I was a little hesitant at first for drilling holes in my cab but then I thought about: "I installed a cab visor and drilled multiple holes, whats the difference of a few more". I like it though I use it when I'm getting outta the woods from hunting and fishing I hunt and fish right till dark most times and it's better than my high beams on my truck. Plus I use it on back roads sometimes unless theres traffic
I was confused about the negative/ ground, in the instructions they don't talk about grounding the black wire with the gold loop to the body of the vehicle, I knew it needed a ground but from the instruction they seem like they want the black wire to battery, thanks for the video helped a lot
we got 8D here...lol www.amazon.com/Nilight-Driving-Lighting-Waterproof-Warranty/dp/B01MG8UVBU/ref=sr_1_1?srs=8085031011&ie=UTF8&qid=1478504922&sr=8-1&keywords=8D
Man those aren't 8D those are old ass 3D light bars that don't shine far. I want fisheye lenses in my light bars. My 3D 32inch light bar is just sitting on the floor collecting dust.
I installed a 42" lightbar to my car and it blew up my coil packs and mechanics are saying I have to run another battery because it pulls too much current and starvs the electronics so I guess it's different when you run a small lightbar XD
i only found a 22" made by nilight. im trying to to put a light bar on my bar bar as well so im im wanting to get one just like that one with the adjustable mounts
+Benjamin Masters they bolt to the frame so its sturdy but it's not going to do anything to protect your bumper if you hit something, the push bar is very light
It probably wont kill the battery, but yes it should be off when the lights are not in use. Also don't run your wires through the door jam or fenders. With the car door opening and closing they have the potential to be pinched which could later cause a short.
So I have one similar to this and where you attach the positive wire to the battery, it’s not big enough to go over my terminal. Any thoughts of what to do to get it on there?
Got mine yesterday - Amazon reviews suggested silicon around the clear front to prevent condensation on the inside of the light bar - have u run into any moisture issues in the unit?
At least in 2023, if you order the lighting unit and the harness as a package, they come in one box. And you definitely need the harness unless you're a master electrician specializing in vehicles.

way easier way to run the wire through the firewall there is a little rubber gasket that goes through and you can push through there instead of going outside the door area
Tim thats what i did it was much easier
Tim The thing that's difficult on that is for my truck it's really hard to get to from under the hood so I did the same thing he did
not if you drive a 2015 chevy 2500 its a bitch firewall
Or at least put it inside the door rubber seal.
It’s likely the water will drain down into the fuse panel
This was SUPER helpful brother. 11pm at night over here getting it all installed thanks to you man! Amazing tutorial! Thank you for sharing with all of us! 🙏😎💯
Thanks
I’d go through the firewall. Less chance of crimping or breaks. It looks cleaner too.
💏
This is actually the BEST Nilight installment video on TH-cam.
Looks like that bumper bar is a "bit" loose, make sure to tighten that too!
Waay too much flex in that bar when he was adjusting the light bar
@@THEGAMEX21 yea mine bolts to the frame and is super rigid, you can rock the whole truck with it
This is how every install video should be. Going to order a bar light to put on my F-150. Appreciate the video.
the light bar fit your bumper so well!
I have been wanting to install one of these, but didn't know how to route the switch. Thanks for the tutorial. It makes it totally easy now. Great job 👍

Those are stock mirrors for that truck
Those are all bolt ons accessories. The lightbar may require some drilling tho
@@colbyfey2215 I believe those are 07-13 tow mirrors. I could be mistaken. It is a very very common mod for cateyes

Wiring through the door jam,and duct tape? I guess if a job is worth doing,it's worth half-assing.
Lol I was thinking that when I seen that , talk about jury rigging ! LOL
When you have a factory grommet you can run the lights through
Gave him 20 feet of wire and he chose the shortest path
@@ksdad2two h Hhhhhh get gggggg jb b B bbbbh try
Never met a guy who uses duct tape that i didnt like..if you use the silver tape for dryer vents..your also on a different level
Probably the best video on how to instal a light bar ! Solid video my brother !
I’m 16 I have a 08 2500 vortec and I got one of these light bars and had no clue how to install it but I got it all done in like 35 minutes with this video thanks
Awesome glad it worked out for you 👍
Thanks for making it so simply an installation. I found a rubber cover on the left hand side where one of the A/C hose goes trough and stuck it in there so that the rubber on the door doesn't get worn out and also to keep the water from going inside when is raining hard.

I just put mine on. Works great. Thanks so much. Excellent instructions

Great explanation, but if you're in the middle of nowhere I would like just the lights and no engine noise.
I finally broke down and ordered one for my daily driver/beater 1992 k1500 lol. I had no idea it was that easy. Thanks for the video!
i wanted one for my atv, but will i need to buy a wire kit for it too? i couldnt figure out how that worked in the product description.
Thanks for this. Just bought one earlier to throw onto my little Dakota for the occasions that I go out onto forest trails at night.
wow that's really bright, i just ordered a 12" nilight bar to mount on my polaris outlaw 525 irs quad lol. i think i wanna get a few bars for my truck now!
I got a 20in light bar and I'm telling you they are good for the price
Thank you for video. Really helped me figure out what needed to be done. Im running it to a roof rack though so bit different running of the wires

Yeah, that's what I plan on doing. Thanks, bro!
The little light bulb on the switch doesn't drain your battery since it's wired to the battery?

Thanks for the video. Putting my eBay special on my pilot after work.
I love that truck , you are doing it right bud
It took me 10 seconds to remove the foam between the cab and engine bay. You saved 5 of those seconds here lol
So I got my wiring harness kit today... and the black cable I’m supposed to ground is about 4 inches long 🙃
ShadyPlays at least it’s long enough to splice lol
Nice truck. Great video, thanks.
Wire routed outside the seal heading directly for the fuse panel - check. Let's go mudding.
I was on the fence about it but I’m getting one for my semi truck my lights are shit thank you

i only found a 22" made by nilight. im trying to to put a light bar on my bar bar as well so im im wanting to get one just like that one with the adjustable mounts
+DON cruz I left a link in the description were you can buy this one
How is light bar so far? thinking about buying on whats ur opinion on the light bar so far would it be worth buying still?
Yes definitely
How far are the holes on your bull bar where you put on the light bar? The two holes on my brush guard are close to 20".
Enjoyed your video. Did you have to supply additional power to the switch or was it supplied when you connected to the battery?
+Gibb Gibb no additional power just ran the red wire to the battery. Thanks
Thank you for the valuable information
Thank you very much was very damn helpful for me to go and hook my bar up thank u very much
Thanks no problem
Great video! Very cool! Thank you!
Couldn’t you just connect the BLACK ground to The BLACK BATTERY TERMINAL. ?
if you did not have a chassis ground ????
Thanks for video.
Good instruction video. How do you get the illuminated red light to turn off on the switch so there won't be any drainage from the battery?
The one I bought in 2023 does not have a light; just a simple rocker switch.
I assume it won't matter if my battery is in the trunk?
Easy to watch thanks !
Does the link u have for the light bar include everything u need to install it or did u have to buy stuff separate ?
To anyone who is planning to buy this THE PACKAGE DOES NOT COME WITH THE WIRING U NEED !!!
The red wire is to small of a hole to mount to the red terminal on the battery, how else could I attach it to the battery?
hey man! awesome video. Id like to order one but im not sure how i could get the wiring as well?
+David Mejia you can order any wiring kit like the one in the video it doesn't have to be brand specific
Awesome! Helped me out thanks!
how well do these pushbars/bullbars work? if i were to use my truck to push something would the brackets break? idk how sturdy they are
+Benjamin Masters they bolt to the frame so its sturdy but it's not going to do anything to protect your bumper if you hit something, the push bar is very light
Do you plan on making the bull bar black because I'd look so much better
+Alex Lindner that's funny you say that I was just talking about that today but yes I plan to paint it black
+Truck Master if you're taking suggestions I think It'd look clean with the cab lights nightshaded
+Alex Lindner you have a good eye sir, looks like that will be my next video
I know it’s old video , but is the red light supposed to remain on on the light switch ? Won’t it drain the battery ?
It probably wont kill the battery, but yes it should be off when the lights are not in use. Also don't run your wires through the door jam or fenders. With the car door opening and closing they have the potential to be pinched which could later cause a short.
Would this light work on a tyger bull grill for a '18 silverado ltz z71... I believe it would.
So I have one similar to this and where you attach the positive wire to the battery, it’s not big enough to go over my terminal. Any thoughts of what to do to get it on there?
After installing it, did you have problems with the check engine light ???
did you mske a video on how to mount the bull bar on the truck?
Got mine yesterday - Amazon reviews suggested silicon around the clear front to prevent condensation on the inside of the light bar - have u run into any moisture issues in the unit?
+Michael Woodsdale not at all
It looked like a supernova when he turned on the light bar
Where can I buy the extra wiring?
When you order the light, did the second box come with it? Or was that a different order?
At least in 2023, if you order the lighting unit and the harness as a package, they come in one box. And you definitely need the harness unless you're a master electrician specializing in vehicles.
