I placed my light bar in almost the exact same place and found I get a massive reflection down on the windshield basically blinding me. SET IT BACK FURTHER!! Have it powered before you mount it to set the shadow further down onto the hood.
Do yourself a favor, always, always run the wires through the firewall and not through the door and fender.. Just asking for problems.. and make sure you have a fuse right at the battery
Adam Hornyak I learned that first hand. I got lazy when i had my 99 blazer and i didnt want to take the time to figure out where to put it through the firewall. Door pinched my wires and caught themselves on fire. It was pretty intense, after that i bought a nice harness and drilled a hole lol.
Why not go threw the firewall instead of running wires where they can get pinched or seen. I would go threw firewall and under dash to fuse box it would look much cleaner.
That's what I did There's a big grommet to the left of the steering shaft under the dash. Ran my wires along side the factory ones. When I was a teenager we were lazy and ran them through the fender like he did lol
My truck has a factory set of fog lights, so to power on the light bar, I just connected the relay to the flog light to power it. When I power on the fog lights, the light bar comes on.
This was an amazing video it helped me fully understand the proper way I should install my light bar on my truck after I watched this I readjusted my light bar the way you did it and now my truck looks great you earned my subscription and a like
Video was really helpful for me with mounting one to my dads truck but I was advised that any connection you electric tape them just to be safe thanks for the video though
come on fellas, this is a dodgey set up if ever I've seen one. You really need to sort that wiring out and do it properly. You're gonna end up with issues down the line, not doing stuff properly in the first place.
Thanks for the vid guys, ive got a 06 silverado and everything was so similar to mine because gmc and chevy are basicly the same, oh lol btw the way u guys wired into the cab through the side door is how i have done every other lighbar ive ever installed, nice to know im not the only one, thanks guys
How you doing what brand are those brackets.I have a 03 Chevy trailblazer I brought a 50 inch curved light bar and two sets of brackets that don't reach the bar I'm thinking that the brackets that you have in the video might work with my truck. Can you help me out. I already bought two sets of brackets and neither work. PS keep up the good work on the videos
You could always silicone over the holes if you remove it. You should put silicone also when putting the screws. So water doesn't make its way into the threads and in the truck
As soon as I saw he where he ran the wires For the switch and fuse and shit . I just disliked it and stopped watching . And how he just put the fuse cover over it like bruh nooooooooooo
What did you spliced into the fuse box and why? Seems unnecessary.. fuse should be near battery and done. I agree with other commitments, through firewall would be best for a more professional install.
Timothy Cottle the switch to turn the lightbar on needs a constant 12v to send the turn on signal, what he put in the fuse panel is called a fuse tap, it will take a factory fuse and allow you to tap into its power line to get a 12v signal without having to run another wire from the battery
Yeah, it does require you do that. However, I have seen people add them to a headache rack, which may be an option. Remember how we used to add KC lights to the roll bar?
don't like those fuse taps for a lot of functions. too often i see people put a higher current load rather than using it for relay triggering then wonder why they blow fuses. but then fix it by putting higher rated fuses in and wonder why their components shit themselves completely when theres a short. too much current flowing that doesn't bust the fuse. if your don't know what your doing perhaps get a suitably trained person to assist rather than rely on youtube for electronics.
Walker Ross make sure the door seal is seated correctly and hopefully will fix the leak. As for that nasty whistling noise, there are a bunch of youtube videos where they put door trim on the fins of the brackets to deflect the wind and get rid of the noise issue. What kit/brackets did you buy and what kind of truck did you put it on?
its the rough country brackets on a 54' curved. i put it on my 05 sierra. it sounds like youve barely got your windows cracked when you go down the road.
I placed my light bar in almost the exact same place and found I get a massive reflection down on the windshield basically blinding me. SET IT BACK FURTHER!! Have it powered before you mount it to set the shadow further down onto the hood.
Irrelevant. you can always adjust the bar up and down later. I have it in the same place as these guys, and mine doesn't have reflection.
@@kozmicflush980 and you’re pointing the light at the sky. Not the trail. Good luck with that.

Thanks for showing how to run the wire from the light to the inside.
I watched a few videos before yours and everyone seemed to skip over that part.
Thanks so much! I have awesome viewers!

Isn't there a spot in the firewall to run the wires through? Looks tacky and I wouldn't want the door constantly closing upon the wires.
Kevin Fisher my sentiments exactly.
The firewall will be on the driver side with big wire going inside the interior
My truck has a factory set of fog lights, so to power on the light bar, I just connected the relay to the flog light to power it. When I power on the fog lights, the light bar comes on.
Thanks for such a detailed video

not good an the metal around will rust away

Great video man very helpful
Good video I gonna try install one for 2019 Chevy Silverado 👍😁

What kind of brackets
Do have problems with leaks around the brackets?
Yes. You're gonna want to get some sealant or rubber seals to over the holes.
Have y'all did a video of a 2001 Chevy s10?? 2dr or 4dr with curved LED light bar
Did you ever decide to run the wires through the firewall?
good tutorial. very nice
Thanks for watching!
Nice work
Looks awesome Donnie.
If I want to remove the lightbar and brackets down the road, do I risk leaks because of the drill holes
You could always silicone over the holes if you remove it. You should put silicone also when putting the screws. So water doesn't make its way into the threads and in the truck
Im looking for the Brackets and that adaptor
Do u know where could I find some straight 50 inch brackets for my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500
I have a 2004 chevy colorado z71 ls , will the 50in light fit on that truck?
what is the route you use for the hot wire up to the light bar? Are you drilling a hole in the roof to access the light bar?
pay attention fool
There is something call it Rivet Nut", give a better grip for bolts instead of metal screws......
shouldn't you put a little silicone in the screw holes?
Where can I buy these brackets?
I'm looking for the same thing right now lol
Do you install light pods to...
Installed mine and now the check engine light is on and it says reduced power...
THE 408 RIDERS just need a better alternator. Most likely.
Lol what was the issue?
is it the same on a 2003 2500?
What fuse location did u use ?

Can I do this to a Chevy cruze
I didn't watch the video but move the light bar back it will shine on the hood and windshield do bad you won't be able to see

How many watts is that bar??
Everything was going so well till the fender part... Big ''no!!!no!!!''....
This install will leak where the bolts are around the top of the door is. And the noise will drive you nuts!
Do the noise sound like wind squeaking noise? that what im hearing when im driving
Great video but in all honesty the wires and switch right there kill it
I honestly don’t think you need all
Those cable just put a on/off switch and a fuse
Where you get that bracket from
You can call www.auxbeam.com/ and they should be able to help you out.
Very very nice bro 👍👍

They sell magnetic mounts for the led bars on amazon. They have some with good reviews.

jvazquez use silicone around the holes

Was that Scott’s tape? Lol

Does the light bar come with the wiring harness

That's how I was! But trust me it's worth it! As long as you seal the holes with silicone everything will be ok!
