    I put the 20 -inch light bar on my kayaK for night fishing. The only thing I gotta say is this light kicks ass!!! I sealed the lens and wire port with caulking just to prevent leaks. Exceeds my expectations for $35.

    How do you install this on I think the hard rock front bumper on a rubicon?

    Bought one for my cab tractor Jay. Thanks for the review.

      it will be pretty nice! Some friend did put it on tractor.

    Maybe it would be easier to loosely assemble everything, leave the mounting bolts poking through the bottom, fit it to the bumper, and then adjust and tighten? Would save the fiddly part of trying to reach in with the small bolts.

      It probably would Scott. Thanks for the input!

    Hey bro, can I attach the negative terminal to the negative side of battery instead of suitable ground? Thanks

    • @duanestyles8644
      @duanestyles8644 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, because the Negative side of the battery is connected directly to the frame. Electrically they are the same.

    The mounting system seems to be better on this one.

    • @farmboy30117
      @farmboy30117  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I like it better because it's adjustable so I don't have to use those clunky homemade brackets.

    Never heard of Nilight. What are you doing with the v-series light?

    • @farmboy30117
      @farmboy30117  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm going to put it on my K20 when I get around to building a bumper for it. This light seems to be about the same quality but I really like the adjustable mounts instead of using those clunky brackets I made ;)

    great video as always, just wondering if the wire coming from the battery is fused ?

    • @farmboy30117

      Thanks James! It does have an inline fuse between the battery wire and the relay.

    Is there a decent safe way to wire this in without wiring directly to the battery? I’m starting to get a ton of stuff wired directly to the battery and I’d like to start cleaning it up a bit.

    • @farmboy30117
      @farmboy30117  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know what you mean! Since these lights don't draw too many amps, I'd recommend installing a secondary distribution panel somewhere in the engine compartment. If it draws a lot of amps (like a winch) it needs to be direct to the battery.

  • @GammaDopplerr
    @GammaDopplerr 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Will the red light on switch drain your battery since it stays on all the time?

    • @farmboy30117
      @farmboy30117  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a tiny LED so it doesn't draw much power. It hasn't been an issue so far.

    • @farmboy30117
      @farmboy30117  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BamaShinesDistillery The individual lights are designed to be either spot or flood. As far as I know, there's no way to change them. I'd have to look to see if this bar has any spot lights in it.

    Great video brother nice install 👍🏻👍🏻 I'd run the on/off switch up in the A pillar and off the dash the heat in the summer maybe a problem!! and I'm sure you have already checked but how's the alternator handling all the new toys on at the same time (volts)?? cheers🍻

    • @farmboy30117
      @farmboy30117  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks brother! The alternator should handle everything, it's rated for around 160 amps. The LED light is 126 watts I believe so it should pull about 10-12 amps. I plan on putting an A-pillar switch pod in so it won't be on the dash for long ;)

    I really like your New Jeep. Great looking light to boot. Great detail on the wiring and the install seemed easy. I would like the light to have a plug on it in case it tore up one could just unplug it and slap another one in it's place. That light is super bright man!

    • @farmboy30117
      @farmboy30117  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Calvin! I elected to use butt connectors because they have the shrink tubing on them instead of a spade connector. Wish they came with weatherpak connectors though. It'd be fairly easy to cut and splice in another light.
