I actually did all the benchmarks and I decided not to make a separate video for it because the Portal doesn't actually help much. You'll need the cooler to get the AeroPortal to open up anyway, and the benchmark results are similar to the base version ROG Phone 6D.

We've heard about such things happening to the ROG Phone 5. However, our unit was used to play Genshin Impact every single day and it still works perfectly fine - so I can't verify how severe the issue with ROG Phone 5 really is.
And so far, no such thing on the ROG Phone 6.

Ya say that Armory Crate is cluttered but that in itself is the reason why one would want an ROG Phone.
    If I wanted a less cluttered interface, I would've bought a non-gaming phone.
Ya just can't beat the customization that AC offers and now, it has even more options!

    • @NasiLemakTech
      @NasiLemakTech  ปีที่แล้ว

Being cluttered is a telltale sign of a need of a new user interface design.
You can have as many things in a single app as you want, but it must be user-friendly and easy to navigate. That applies to both gaming and non-gaming phones.

Hi, NL Tech, first of all please read all the text because it will contain valuable information for your next Bluetooth latency test. Respond my comment with any question about my explanation that you could have.
After that said, I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one that use the superpowered latency app to test the Bluetooth end to end latency. It is the best and fastest way to test and all earbuds reviewers should include this app in their testing.
I'm a competitive 4 finger FPS mobile player and I use Bluetooth earbuds to game because of the comfort and if you know how to set it up, it could have playable latency even for competitive shooters.
In order to get the lowest latency possible in android right now you have to know some things.
Latency may vary from phone to phone, but in general Snapdragon 870 and beyond will have the lowest latency that android provides.
The 2 lowest latency codecs are SBC and AA(Aptx Adaptative).
The earbud should have a game mode and preferably support AA codec for more versatility.
All TWS that claim 40 - 60 ms will get the same end to end 100 - 150 ms latency.
If the earbud don't support AA, then set it to SBC and turn on Game mode and you are good to go with around 100 - 150 ms latency in the latency test app.
If the earbud do support AA it gets more interesting.
AA already have a LL (Low Latency) mode that activates automatically when the phone detects that it's running a game. But also the earbud have a game mode that the OEM provides, so the earbud have two game modes.(some tws doesn't have OEM game mode though)
If you use AA then when you enter a game that the phone detects as a game(this is very important) as I said before it will automatically turn on the LL mode, this AA LL mode will override the OEM game mode and there will be no difference if you turn OEM game mode on or off.
But the key thing is "if the phone detects that it's running a game" because I have the experience of phones that never activate the AA LL mode no matter what game I tried and only works in normal mode that have 300 - 400ms latency.
This was the case of the REALME GT neo 2.
another case is the iQoo neo 5 that it activates the LL mode in some games but not all.
Some Xiaomi phones have an option in the developer options called "Bluetooth audio AA mode" and you can change from "high quality /normal mode" to "LL mode".
In the poco X3 pro this option doesn't change anything but in the black shark 4 that I'm using right now it changes to LL mode. You have to try because this change from phone to phone.
If the AA LL mode works, it will have lower latency than OEM game mode.
If it doesn't turn on then just switch to SBC and turn on OEM game mode.
I don't know what's happening with the cetra wireless because it have the highest latency I have ever seen. Try to use it in SBC and turn on Game mode because it doesn't have AA.
Hope all this information helps and I want you to revisit your previous tws latency tests with this information and make a video to explain all i wrote here so more people and reviewers could use this to get accurate information of how to get lowest latency possible.

I have tested a lot regarding Bluetooth audio for the past few years, even before Supowerpowered app existed.
      th-cam.com/video/X5irm_dPQ1g/w-d-xo.html
I know how Bluetooth audio works but unfortunately, those numbers shown by the manufacturers are never the "real" latency that we are going to experience.
aptX Adaptive consolidated both aptX HD and aptX LL together and while aptX LL is good enough, the adoption rate of aptX LL (or aptX Adaptive in general) is still very poor.
I do agree that aptX LL is good enough for most people but the distance limitation and signal strength needed for it to work properly is still a bummer. I'll always prefer a proprietary 2.4GHz dongle over Bluetooth audio if I am to use a wireless headphone/earphone for gaming.
And the implementation of aptX Adaptive is rather finicky at this point in time. I have spoken to Qualcomm directly about this, but it is something that the software will need to tell the audio codec that we have launched a game and we require aptX LL, but as you've mentioned, the implementation of that is just in shambles now. It works for some phones, but not all.
Moreover, aptX requires a license for the software to work and requires the proprietary chip for the headphone or earphone to work. It's a sum of cost that many manufacturers aren't keen to shell out.
