    Robot, thank you so much for your continuing Vespa vids. For someone who does not live near a dealer, they are a godsend - as is ScooterWest’s mail-order parts program. If I may, a video request: oil change on a current Sprint/Primavera 150. Because of the exhaust, it seems like a pain in the butt. (Do you guys remove exhaust to break the drain plug?) And there’s no good video that I can find anywhere on the web. Thanks again for your help for all the Vespa DIY’ers.

    I own a Elettrica 70kmh (43mph) here in the UK , I concur with everything that Robot says about the scooter , I bought it to use for a 10
    mile each way flat urban commute where the maximum speed limit on the journey is 40 mph . I managed to get my Elettrica with an all silver trim which looks really nice I also swapped the round mirrors for a pair of Sprint mirrors . I like the fact that I’m running a zero emission vehicle as my electricity is produced using renewable energy sources and it is cheaper than gas/petrol and I’m looking forward to future Vespa developments in the electric field .

      Ruslan Abbas depends how long you keep the scooter , does it not , and whether internal combustion engined vehicles are to be banned from your local roads .

      Ruslan Abbas Will the engine last longer? I assume there is lower servicing costs? Although I agree at the moment, you are paying a premium as it is newer technology for Vespa.

    Hello there. I have a question. As far as I understand, you are a master of Vespa engine. The 2014 model stops at 9200 km with the vespa lx 125 3v engine in motion. It stops a few times when I stop at the red Light in traffic. Why would you help doing this problem?

  • @SBha30

    I can tell you love your job! Electric scooters don't require oil changes or coolant flushes.

    • @pleasedontwatchthese9593
      @pleasedontwatchthese9593 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think most scooters are air cooled in the range this is in (50cc - 125cc) so coolant isn't a issue. But not having oil / valves / carbon buildup is cool. I wonder how the transmission works in this, I wonder if it even has a belt or gear oil. Most electric transmissions are simple 1 speed things.

    • @SBha30
      @SBha30 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pleasedontwatchthese9593 You make really good points. I thought some high end Vespa models have liquid cooling, but I am probably wrong. Most are air cooled so you are right about not coolant flushes. Plus no range anxiety if you like to take long trips.

    Interesting to hear about the pros and cons of electric bike I work for Nissan and have seen the development of the leaf from the start 10 years ago with the 24kW unit and now present days with more 60kW battery packs - and not those vehicles can shift. I would consider an electric scoot but it would have to do 70 MPH to get passed the trucks - thanks Robot

      Glad you liked it. We wish it was a bit faster too. The market for these scooters is along side the 50cc class mostly in tight urban communities. Makes sense, but I think they’d be very successful with a faster electric. Thanks for watching!

    This bike is a dream come true for us real high tech tuner's it may be expensive at $7,600 for a 50cc platform but it's Italian with solid history in building bikes from airplane design post WW2 Europe by way of Piggio nevertheless the battle of the cult culture between Lambretta vs Vespa has continued to date with the Mighty Scuderia 265cc motor and the Bmg 305cc Stroker Vespa motor both 2Strokes pushing 50bhp!!! As these bikes go way behond daily city use they are Gp tunable bikes suspension included now fast forward to the future Lambretta do have a 3500 watt electric conversion kit for around $4,000 USD to add to their existing gas bike line Original or Clones- Now the Wasp! has manufactured the most beautiful Ebike ever by way of Vespa in a mid-drive swingarm motor system leaving this bike design as a Open source project for us tuners like always and i just happened to be the very man that already have a very high speed 30kw or 40bhp times 3 in torque electric platform for this bike to finally end the future wars between Lambretta vs Vespa maybe after this build (Piggio) will take notice and build their factory Electtrica with much more power being we need a full M1 license to ride the bike on public roads 🤓

    • @Designer_Opine
      @Designer_Opine 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JakeM218 I know. The question is whether the bike won’t start if that display is bad since literally, all the operating data the rider relies on is limited to just that one component. I asked a Vespa dealer and he said “I don’t know. We’ve not seen one go bad yet.” The Speedometer or tach gauge goes out on an analog system, the vehicle still runs, at least on my bikes.

    Piaggio, continua così. Quando riesci a prendere questo scooter con una potenza sufficiente per raggiungere i 100 km / he 160 km di autonomia, spingi un enorme americano o due italiani su una collina (a velocità sicura), allora ne prenderò uno ma questa cosa mi ucciderà è troppo lento. Raddoppia tutto e ci sei quasi. Tu pensi 50 cc e io ho bisogno di 300 cc. Non sarai in grado di tenere il passo con la domanda con una Vespa del genere.

    The 30mph (45kmh) is classed as a moped in Europe. A 15 yo can ride one with a moped license. But 15 yo's just crash the mopeds so often that here it is WAY more expensive to insure a moped than a full motorcycle. Not sure about more powerful motorcycles but it is less than half the cost to insure a 150cc over the 50cc. Next one up is the light motorcycle license (max 11kw). It's maximum displacement is 125cc. You can ride those in the age of 16. Not sure but I think it is also more expensive to insure a 125cc than 150cc. The 150cc models are rare over here because of the 125cc license and after that you probably want something bigger.

    I find that Vespa hasn't made an extraordinary evolution since the first electric model presented at EICMA 2018. Same engine, but unbridled, same dashboard, same range and still batteries that can't be extracted.
    They say that some components have been modified to maintain engine performance, since the battery is always the same!
    The real revolution would be to release 2 very distinct models. 50 cc and 125 cc with a range that exceeds 65 miles, a battery that can be charged at home and why not, really release the Hybrid model they had planned to release already in 2019.
    PS: I love your Americavespa t-shirt! Where can we get it?
