    Enjoyable review Dave. As you say, though, charging the battery, or one fixed permanently to the bike, will be a problem for many people not living in a house or one with a small garden. Now, hydrogen may be an alternative. I believe Segway are bringing one out in 2023.

    And batteries don’t fail, they just hold less charge, and as we are finding the drop often flat lines at a certain level.

  • @DavidNewmanDr

    I like the review. It looks easier to ride than a Sunra, but doesn't have removable batteries like the Maevin or a Type 2 cable to connect to a charging point like my Zero. There is an electric Ducati - but it is for the eMoto GP races, as they have taken over from Energica in making the bikes for those races. I was surprised how few electric motorcycles I came across in Ireland when touring on my Zero DSR. And Ireland has more charging stations per ha than the UK.

    Good review as more people are likely to buy this bike than a zero. The Vespa has always had an appeal over the years though I never owned one. My brother had a Lambretta and loved it. As a tall rider my knees would stick out either side thereby looking like a mobile carbuncle. 😱

    Fantastic review, and I, too, LOLed at the 'shopping for melons or a toilet' comment.
    How's the acceleration on this beauty?
    Also, I wonder if, as with electric push-scooters, there's a way to bypass the 70kmh cap with a little electronics trickery, possibly even making the cheaper, 50kmh model faster. No doubt illegal, if possible.

    • @WheelieGoodTV
      @WheelieGoodTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback. Acceleration was nippy enough to get me out of trouble and never made me think in the city I needed more. Like all these gizmo’s they are fairly easy to bypass the electronics for some more ooomph.

    Did the FJR scare you to a scooter, kidding! E-bikes, like cars, are coming and here to stay, and they have their place for sure. I’ve been interested in Zero electric bikes (not sure if y’all have them across the pond), never ridden but it could be fun if you had a few bikes. Two issues for me. 1. Charging when living in upper floor condo/apartment. This thing weights close to 300 pounds. Too bad the batteries do not quickly remove for charging indoors. 2. Top speed. On a state highway with only a top speed of 45mph, you'll CONSTANTLY be causing traffic congestion. Even the slowest drivers go faster than that and they cause congestion. Even on the single lane country roads here in the states, average speed is 55-60 mph.

    Is the manufacturing of all these batteries and their recycling really that ecological ?

    • @WheelieGoodTV
      @WheelieGoodTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, this is also my huge gripe with electric vehicles. There is nowhere to dispose of lithium. I believe in 10 years this is going to be a huge problem when everybody’s lovely efficient eco friendly vehicles need new batteries. We can’t start burying them in the ground like a landfill site. I doubt this has even been though through.

    biggest con of this e-scooters/bikes is their lack of noise, so traffic is not aware of your presence. it can be seen just by people trying cross a road, you have to brake all the time in last second. this is one major safety issue, if you ask me. drivers are not aware of bikers even on regular ice bikes that much, let alone in this e grinders. they need to do something about this.

    Good vis mate but my opinion-What a disappointment again from Vespa first they started making Chinese Vespas and wasted the free chance given to them to simply make new motors for their original Real Vespas of which there are tens of thousands everywhere, and secondly by making this crappy way too over priced slow arsed Chinese Vespa knock off. I converted my 64 GT200 to Electric, it is now a 72v 10kw motor wheel system with 520 nm's of torque, 0-100kph in 1.2 seconds and top speed of 175 kph on 12" upsized rims front and rear Disc Breaks and a 90ah battery pack. for half of what Cheeps is attempting to scam from people for this rubbish plastic trash
