Wow, this was some insane Minecraft journalism. Never would have thought the texture pack was technically stolen. Kind of scary how easy it was for those logs to be faked and accepted. 10/10 video
As somebody who has used Faithful for so many years now, I am really saddened to hear about all of this. But on a brighter note, I'm happy to use the Compliance pack since it's gotten Vattic's approval.
Ladies and Gents: FHLX here. I just wanted to say that as of 12/29/2021, the Emulated Vattic team has completed a renaming process to be now referred to as the Classic Faithful Team. All logos, repositories, listings, and packs have been re-named to Classic Faithful. This will be our new name moving forward and should be much more recognizable than our previous name. Thanks everyone that sees this.

Never knew my favorite pack has this much history to it.
I knew a moderator on faithful and he told me he was always suspicious of Vizzy. He never gave proof that he had permission to update the pack and I'm very happy that he got caught. I hope legal action is taken against him for these last couple years.
I never knew that there could be much story behind a texture pack. Things like this really makes you want to think what’s really going on behind the scenes of other things.
when vizzy said "no democracy" and basically went on a power trip, I instantly got vibes of wheatley from portal 2
I was wondering why "Faithful" hadn't been updated in a while and now I suspect it's a direct result of everything hitting the fan. The process of looking at their issue tracker led me to Vattic's post and this video. I had no idea any of this was going on... thank you for enlightening me!

Damn, I knew something was off when I first saw faithful on the minecraft store. Vattic was not mentioned even once but I was under the impression that he gave permission to these guys to continue the project. Turns out that one person claimed ownership without the permission from Vaticc and even made money from it. I appreciate him trying to continue Faithful but trying to take it as his own, proffiting and even lying about it is downright shameful. I will no longer support his, but will look for alternative Faithful packs instead.
I personally prefer the default textures over Faithful, but I never expected this.
Faithful is always my go-to texture pack for Minecraft. Everything looks clean and the builds still look good to people using default... Not to mention I don't have to keep going "Oh yeah that is THIS block" xD great video!
Hopefully legal action is taken and he can acquire the rights to sell his own texture pack on the marketplace.
If I ever had to buy skins or texture packs on the Java Edition, I would commit nether sleep
Had to revisit this video while looking for a copy of Faithful to try out since I could remember that the pack had been stolen, but couldn't remember any more details than that. It's nice to have access to a resource like this at times.
I love how involved you are in this, I remember playing with faithful so long ago and wondering why I couldn't download an updated version. I had no idea that there was a massive scandal involved!!
