Stolen and low-effort content, along with how buggy it is really ruins it for me. The fact that Microsoft refuses to do anything about it is what makes me despise it. These malicious creators prey on the game’s young audience, exploiting them for what is probably their parent’s money. Such a shame.
This is why you should never give your kids access to your money, or if you do, then it is a spending allowance a it is given to them upfront. My parents would sometimes give me money for helping out around the house, that money was then fully mine in their eyes and I could spend it, save it, or waste it on whatever I wanted (As long as it wasn't illegal or dangerous)
As a java mod developer I can totally one most points you said. I've had several websites steal my mod and reupload it, which is quite annoying especially because other websites plaster it with ads. Some websites you can upload your mods to like curseforge actually have a type of reward programm, giving you a very, very small amount of money depending on the popularity of your mod, sponsorships exist, although most of the sponsorship sellers only approach modpack developers, but most of this is a joke compared to the amount of wealth some Bedrock devs aquire.
what i notice the java mod devs have more freedom in creativity, marketplace feels like feeding the machine with just fast pace stuff. i only seen 2 or 3 with decent things every season as well every 30 marketplace companies will be making close to the same thing, Christmas, Halloween, Easter
It is officially because console manufacturers don't allow third party downloads, and Mojang gets a cut. They focus more on bedrock since it has the largest player base and will be more likely to spend
@@SUPEREGOKARMA If it weren't for my friends who didn't had Bedrock and or didn't want to play it I would have started my new survival world in Bedrock. I recently converted it from Java to Bedrock and I am just heartbroken how small the render distance in Java is. As for mods: I just don't really care. Not even for the market place.
Again - good concept, awful execution. Yes, giving money to creators for their work is good, but: allowing clearly copyrighted content to generate income, making every purchase instantly final, and hiding all the rules behind a curtain is simply unacceptable. I wish market creators would just anonymously spill all the information to the public.
Why didn't they spill all the info though ? If they're able to contact youtubers and relay the info we already have with 0 risk to themselves, then why not go all the way ?
@@dejazO0 Yes, but most people won't. If they had to pay from the outset, some people won't get the content, sure, but most of the time, it averages out to much more money than what they got before.
Always comes down to the fact that by officially offering money in their built-in storefront, it's going to attract all of the bad actors who'll flood the entire thing with crap in order to catch the easy money.
@@nikkiofthevalley Okay..? So what about it? Does that suddenly make Marketplace such a great concept? For me, I would say, it should be enough for people if they make enough to afford the basic living costs and get some smaller savings from what they have left after all the costs. It's all about money those days. Money is has long since ruined society and is one of the worst human inventions possible.
Some things to add on here from my time. -Content about herobrine and storylines where the player themselves are forced to commit a crime is banned. Minecraft themselves don't follow their own guidelines. In the new free "peace builders" map there is extreme hate speech of which showing on TH-cam would probably get you a channel strike. Content that first accepted but then later realized voilates terms or laws (like copyright) can't physically be removed, only unlisted from search. (if the UUID was saved when it was up, you now have the url to boot it up to buy it) The UUID can be found in the URL of the marketplace website or in a press release by the team who built it. -Marketplace content is unplayable if you lose internet connection (won't let you create the world even if the files is locally stored), even if your still logged in. -If Microsoft ever decides to end internet account support, you will be lock out of the content you bought
@@procookies7404 the map is spilt into missions following a role model. One was about ending oppression and racial segregation in South Africa. There is 3 npc's in the mission you shouldn't really talk to, to be youtube safe
@Dominic Durant it is hate speech because the NPCs talk racially about others And there's also the fact that only Mojang themselves are allowed to make such content (meaning they violate their own terms)
So let me guess this straight, it's a Microsoft platform, and their responsibility is to make sure everything in it is under the legalities, BUT somehow they just go "oh hum, not my problem, they said it was legal", like WHAT? How is this actually an argument given by a multi-billion dollar company? This is suuuuuuuuuuper scummy and shady.
That's the motto of most multibillion dollar companies, they just get to not take responsibility for their actions. Tesla should be shut down after the horrendous release of the Cybertrap, or at the very least not allowed to sell it anymore, but neither of those things happened
I remember the days when people use to put a bunch of effort and care (mostly) to their maps for Java Minecraft. The marketplace could've been more great. . . its unfortunate for the Java Players who likely can't do shit about their content stolen for the Bedrock Marketplace. This makes the Bedrock Marketplace look bad. . . and its unfortunate how it is. The Cons outway the Pros.
If someone is willing to spend their free time developing a mod or a resourcepack for free, their finished product will feel like it's been made with love. If someone instead gets payed for it they're more likely to get greedy and sacrifice quality for money. That's why I prefer Java edition, because most mods are made for the community instead of the money. And any money earned is out of love for the product, not out of misclicks and boredom.
I personally play on bedrock and don’t like the marketplace. It’s poorly designed and so silly. Why would you buy a map for real world money when you can just download it online. Honestly no point. It just feels like theft especially for those who actually designed the content It works in theory but not in practice
Well keep in mind that platforms such as console and iOS cannot easily import external files and thus the Marketplace is the go-to for players on those platforms Edit: apparently iOS has a way to import Add-Ons. Though console players (which do make up a good amount of the playerbase) still have to pay for extra content through the Marketplace
The Marketplace is such a good idea, but just hasn't been executed all that well. It's *really* awesome that creators are able to get paid for their work, but Microsoft/Minecraft are fumbling the bag for themselves and the creators by seemingly not caring about it much other than the big brand collaborations :(
Yeah it would be good if Microsoft didn’t create mind coins and let people purchase things on the spot or get them for free and it should Be more creator oriented
It's an idea that sounds good on paper but time and time again we've seen a way for modders given a way to make money and all hell breaks loose. Creation Club, the 10000 dollars to a modsite from Overkill, and the Minecraft Marketplace. It's a system that will never work as intended 👎
The marketplace is very predatory and honestly isn't good to have so easily accessible for a kids game. However, I will say that most people think that the marketplace is the only way to get mods on Bedrock Edition, which isn't true, there are so many different sites that allow people to get Bedrock mods for free.
The no refund thing is probably my biggest problem with the marketplace. Sucks paying for something that looks good on marketplace but is lacking in depth gameplay wise. Making bad content should not be financially rewarded. Also the review part of a packs page is really lacking, paid for highly rated stuff only to be disappointed.
"Nothing can be done" is a lie. What you mean is, "They refuse to pay to do anything about it, even though that is their responsibility." Just because you're a big corporation doesn't mean you get to break laws, which is what they're doing by allowing copyrighted content. If they can't filter it out, they need to shut down the marketplace.
no. this isn't true. if they start moderating content for copyright, then it legally becomes their responsibility if there is copyright infringing content. but if they *don't moderate it at all*, then legally it's the responsibility of the creators who upload it, not microsoft's. yes, they COULD moderate against copyright-infringing content, BUT, this would put them in a VERY bad place legally every platform does this (incl. youtube) - they don't moderate against copyright-infringing content by themselves, they only do it if the copyright owner sends a DMCA request. because if they did, again, that would make them legally responsible for everything
Wait you're telling me companies don't actually care about LGBT and just want brownie points? Who would have thought? What's next? Politicians lie ? Drinking water is important? Very hard to believe
Hey,Gay child here fuck you. We exist. I’ve known since 2. My young tv crush was hooper from hoopers store. Don’t promote being straight and cis either because we’re not promoting just showing we exist. I’m also asexual.
I’ve been looking into making marketplace maps for a while and am still debating, it could be good to have more real effort content on there but the marketplace as a whole just seems so problematic. Great video, cmon Microsoft/mojang get your act together
Well just because minecraft keeps on posting stuff about LGBT and still has a pride profile pic doesnt mean that they care about them, they dont care about you Especially Your sexual orientation, The only thing they do care about is your money, Every company does this in pride month. Its best to be brutally honest then blatantly lying and pretending you care.
Well *mojang* for what we know actually cares and is cool, but obviously microsoft is just like any company. We assume that the marketplace is managed by microsoft, so it makes sense that it would be banned just for that 0.1% profit increase.
05:06 I highly doubt that would ever hold up in court. If someone did decide to sue Mojang or Microsoft because of copyright I'm willing to bet they would lose.
Even if they’re not a publisher they should be responsive to DMCA claims - and I suspect they are. However it’s just not worth the effort for most creators to submit a claim on everything.
A very good point you made was that they don't have a "confirm purchase" prompt. I have a younger family member who was so overjoyed when i got they coins but those coins were quickly drained by a single misclick. It wasnt even a map they wanted and they were so sad. Microsoft should do something as this is just a bunch of bs. Thanks for the video!!!
Yeah this video basically sums up my thoughts on the marketplace perfectly: It sounds nice being able to actually make money off of mapmaking, but in practice it's not so great because of terrible quality control and moderation (also it's pretty questionable having any sort of storefront that you literally cannot get refunds on anything at all) did not know that thing about LGBTQ+ related stuff though, that's also a bit concerning
There are children who play minecraft. Some as young as 3. It's appropriate to not have alphabet people content on the marketplace. Kids and teens should not be exposed to that kind of content no matter their religion or beliefs about the matter. Any attempt to expose normal/regular kids to that ideology (which *naturally* [not through social contagion] affects a severely minute percent of the population) is grooming. The alphabet lifestyle is inherently sexual and should be kept away from kids below 16 years old at minimum.
@@matthewdavis8385 lmaoooooooooooo being gay is as sexual as being straight, i hope we ban straight people from being mentioned near anyone less than 16 years old soon... you know people are born gay right? people can BE gay and less than 16 years old... just show me how mentioning gay people exist hurst children, and i will back the literal censorship you are saying should be enforced
@@bruh83483 I do somewhat agree though, there are definitely overpriced skin stuff on the marketplace though. I don't have much issue with the in game skin creator that you can purchase stuff for though. You can get a lot more creative with that.
As someone who constantly sees clickbait on the TH-cam home page, frequently with stolen art, I can say that this is just not right. Stealing content in general is not good. This just takes that to the extreme with the insane amount of stolen content.
Studios like this killed the marketplace from pumping out so much shit, and now the only way for a studio to not go out of business is by outsourcing to a low income country so they can pay their artists below minimum wage. You see so much low effort/stolen crap because the people who make that stuff are getting paid next to nothing.
There really is no excuse for a company the size of microsoft not to have a team that could deal with these issues, they could easily afford to hire a team to "blitz" through what is currently there, overhaul the system, then reduce down to a smaller team that would be on going to manage new things created it would take time to go through it all and probably would be a messy thing to get going but if done right, would result in a much better system for all and I think would really not effect their bottom line in the long term as they could start building up trust. good vid mate, cheers
The market place also had an issue where after large updates they took down certain items only to replace them with an updated version, so for example when Minecraft pocket edition was just the pocket edition it had the marketplace first, I had bought a bunch of things but the highlights were the ,Christmas 2016, city, fantasy, and plastic texture packs, which are all still on the market place, however when all platforms switched to the bedrock engine which is what PE was running on first the market place went through an update and in said update all of those texture packs I mentioned were taken down and then replaced with an updated version, and so I just lost those texture packs among other things with no compensation, in total I lost about 50 dollars worth of stuff, which granted isn’t a lot but this happened when I was a young kid and so getting money to spend on things was rare, and then suddenly it was all just gone
This marketplace update actually affected even older Minecraft versions, if you had the original 360/One Minecraft editions and went to use the texture packs/skins/etc and you had your account attached to new versions, your old content would be wiped. Only lost the plastic texture pack, but damn was I upset
I mean, copyright and trademark law is weird and scummy. Remember the whole Fine Bros fiasco trademarking the "react" brand despite obviously being just a common word? Or in more recent memory, scumbag Take Two studio wanted to sue the It Takes Two developers because "too similar" to their trademark? (yeah AAA studio legally bullying an indie because they won GOTY, real classy) Ice Ages come and go in this planet but I think if Blue Sky studios was feeling especially scummy on any given day, they could release the lawyers to hound some people and have a solid case depending on the specific content.
@@nicocchi Copyright and trademark law is practically screwed. The idea that you can earn off of creative works is very, very good, but copyright law does that really badly.
I don't get items from the marketplace often, but when I do I always try to check if it is high quality and original work. I really wish it was monitored better.
I like how you make it sound like it's harder to make money via donations than direct payment. Having modded in several communities I'm going to have to dispute that. Even in minecraft iv made more from donations than the marketplace. Only people I see making more in a market place environment are flippers and scammers
It also doesnt make you a dickhead. If you have passion in your work, put it up for free so everyone can use it. People who make skins for money disgust me
@@DonDadda45 nothing wrong with wanting to be payed for your work. I wouldn't have been able to do 1/5 of what I have if I didn't make enough from donations too reduce my hours at work. I don't recommend selling mods but that's just because people tend to donate more to a free mod than people are willing to pay for a sold mod
@Trace Smith You might be surprised, but many people actually enjoy coding and it doesn't cost them anything to share their work, unlike a mechanic fixing a car. Most of the internet is actually run by free and open source software.
It's even worse if you play on console. I currently play on the PS4 so I assume everything must also be approved by Sony. The amount of content available on the Playstation Minecraft store is pitiful. Looking at Curse Forge it's not much better on the Bedrock PC side where the number of Java files VASTLY out number the available Bedrock files. And Curse Forge doesn't have anything to do with the Microsoft store. This year my Christmas gift to myself will be to buy Minecraft for the PC. Being retired I have a rule not to buy any games for the PC that I already own on the PS4 but will make an exception for MC. Playing vanilla MC has gotten boring and the lack of mods on the PS4 side hasn't helped. I will miss forward speed bridging and the greater render distance of Bedrock but mods will make up for it.
There is a reason why most of the old community stick to Java. As for the content creators not gaining anything but donations it is double edged sword: we did it that way since Beta and still there are thousands of mods to choose, so it seems like developers didnt have a back pain about it as intense as some may think. If someone wants to make a paid mod then they have full right to do so, the question is whether they will make any more money that way in comparison to them limiting the payment aspect to donation button. And still the most incredible content minecraft ever had was made for Java with no assurance for the devs that it will make them any money, and thats why I think that features like marketplace are obsolete at best and harmfull at worst
Welcome to Minecraft!! A game of infinite possibilities! Except we do not allow: -Happiness -Belief -Inclusivity -Original content -Creativity -Christmas? -Diversity -Scam free content -Discussion of social issues And of course... If the saturation is not below 99%, it is not allowed on the marketplace
TBH, I think due to the very unwelcoming laws of other places, the LGBTQ ban was the safest option, considering Minecraft is a game for everyone all around the world.
I disagree They'd find a way to find LGBT content anyways, if they're uneducated/doesnt feel safe at all they may be driven to suicide Which is a bigger threat than it being illegal
This makes sense until you question why they have their Twitter account in rainbow. The question shouldn't be "Why is it not allowed on the marketplace" but "Why is it not allowed on the marketplace but is allowed on their official Twitter account"
Tbh if that's the case then Roblox would need to be the same cause I'm pretty sure there's no version only for Russia and Russia is not very LGBTQ friendly , I'm guessing people were so mad like a gay sweater would kill you or sum
I'm pretty sure that the issue raised @ 6:49 (where a purchase is completed with a single click & no checkout cart or _"are you sure?"_ pop-up) is a breach of terms for payment processing companies like VISA or PayPal, if not a breach of trade practices regulations & consumer protection laws in a dozen or more countries. One of the key purposes behind multiple confirmation points is to _combat fraud & money laundering_ - not just protect themselves & the Marketplace sellers from costly refund requests for accidental purchases. Definitely worth reporting to Mojang, Microsoft _and_ regulators because that's a big business risk for MS when they have numerous in-house solutions readily available.
He's probably refering to the text. While it isn't the same as the movie, it could definitely fall under trademark violation. Or it could also be that he was just gathering footage in a rush.
A lot of people shit on the marketplace for no reason. Thanks for making this video to show how bad it can be and how it can be not bad too. Also at 6:50 you purchased a map that my friend worked on :D
@@DonDadda45 did YOU see the video? He makes a point, there are a lot of shitty marketplace creators that are just money hungry, but, there's also some good maps made by actually good people that just want to share their creation and make money. Also, do you even play bedrock? I'd you don't, this video isn't enough evidence to think that it should be deleted.
@@Jervenshmine F*ck money. Minecraft should be a community effort. No one should pay to get anything like that, especially not in a game with 90% kid audience. He literally explains the better version in the video itself, having people DONATE for stuff when they really, really enjoy it and have the means to do so. No user content should be behind a paywall, it goes against anything that the gaming community stands for. That's why I asked if you didn't watch the video, because that's literally the point he also made. Greedy shit man, I hate it. Either do community stuff and expect nothing for it, or don't do it.
I Would Like to reach out and say that it is very hard to verify for the marketplace it's not as it seems tho, the rules are Applicants must be a registered business to enter a formal partnership with Microsoft and Mojang. You will be asked to provide business and tax details in the application form. Applicants should be able to provide a portfolio of high-quality content they have created and shared with the Minecraft community but this is "the quality" is just BS, the marketplace is a cloning zone but sometimes it is an original place to create
Someone I knew made the lowest-quality content, and when they said they were getting a partnership, I didn't believe them. So now they have a partnership, and they said they had an advantage??? So i suppose that backs up what you claim. They are likely to prefer people with a large portfolio over those with a smaller portfolio but an emphasis on quality content.
6:00 Its not like Dream copyrighted the word "Dream" so it cant really do anything and anyway I personally wouldn't care because dream lost my respect a LONG time ago
THE FACT THAT MOJANG IS CALLING BEDROCK THE REAL VERSION MAKES ME MAD AND THE FACT THAT THEY ARE MAKING HARDER TO GRT MODS FROM THE INTERNET FOR FREE!!! THEY LITERALLY WANT YOU TO USR YOUR MOMS CREDIT CARD FOR A STUPID ADD ON
I believe the marketplace can be a great place for developers, including the monetization. The issue is the lack of quality of control and plagiarism run rampant. I do hope that it will improve over time but it’s unlikely. I am optimistic nonetheless! Thanks for making this video :D
Microtransaction is worse in paid game like the games is so expensive 28 dollar for a game then marketplace came in and like double it to like 45 dollar extra. I know it's optional but i feel really bad of console. Because they pay the game and then they have to pay for 4 dollar extra. (And console) it just the stupid thing and yes i sometimes hope it remove so that Java can die in peace.
the worst part is that there isnt even a report button for the marketplace which is ironic considering that reporting is mostly in bedrock but nor is there a hide button for certain content i hope that they at least add these features to make it slightly better
I mean the marketplace isn’t the only issue with bedrock. It’s performance has dropped drastically since the marketplace was added. I remember being able to play with several friends on a server where we built a huge city with no lag and now I can’t even play solo without some level of lag. God forbid I try to play spilt screen or online, we might as well be turning our Xbox’s into furnaces.
@@adamrodriguez5419 Why would adding a mod loader slow down your game? I'm sure the marketplace has nothing to do with your performance problems. Perhaps the marketplace came with a game update?
@@thelaneyo I will admit when I downloaded the update it came with it had been a while so I was adding a few updates but according to my friends when the marketplace was added was also when they started having issue as well so I’d assume it came with other updates which ultimately caused major performance issues they still haven’t fixed.
Good vid! Also, I have a friend who plays Bedrock, and even he thinks the marketplace is dumb. I feel like if Bedrock was still only pocket edition it’d make sense, but now that it’s on Xbox and Switch too, it feels a lot more…cheap.
There's this mod dev, amazing mod dev I should add, that makes incredible mods, they also have a patreon, at certain tiers they give you early-access to mods, awesome resourcepacks and the ability to suggest custom weapons for the mods. I think this is a much better approach than the marketplace, and I understand than some people want to make money for their hard work, and even I think I heard that there's people who are marketplace creators for a living. But Microsoft being at the top being the one saying "this content yes, this content no"... We know that can't go well...
Then less stuff would sell and as a consequence Micro$oft would get less money. Bugrock edition is where Micro$oft unleashes their full corporate tendencies without restraint. Its just a giant money grab, content isn't the concern.
@@gorilla_gorl People would get a lot more use out of a mod than a map. Maps are essentially single use whilst mods are a great way to get loads of extra content for a long time. So instead of buying a dozen maps that come with nice shaders kids would just buy one mod to give nice shaders to whatever survival world they might be playing. Maybe I'm just underestimating how foolish some people can be, and people would still pay for this crap anyways.
I’m glad you talked about how on consoles our only choice for mods and things is the marketplace. Me and my friends play on Bedrock and after playing so much Minecraft gets boring, it’s truly peoples creativity, and mods that keep it living. We’ve tried many times to try to get mods without paying a penny, and it has worked, but it’s just not great. Our only real choice is to buy from the market place, I wish I could play on Java, there are a lot of cool things that Bedrock has, but to get greatly made mods, for free it would be amazing. I kinda grew up with Minecraft and I would watch these TH-camrs play these awesome mods, but when I got Minecraft PS4 edition I realized that I wouldn’t get that modded luxury, I didn’t even get servers on PS4 edition.
How is it compared to Java? I've always wanted to try RTX, but I'm not willing to pay M$ again for something I've already bought. (I missed the window to get free bedrock edition, I wasn't playing MC at the time.)
@@thelaneyo I mean, if bedrock modding capabilities allow it, it is pretty good considering you don't have to modify source code with external jar files, also, didn't minecraft java and bedrock became 1 product like 2 months ago? And with RTX, just get vanilla RTX from mcpedl mate
@Chara UT I doubt they have finally merged their code bases. "Just get RTX from mcepdl" is not hardware based ray tracing. Only way to get hardware based ray tracing is in bedrock with an Nvidia GPU. I play MC in VR, I want to leverage my hardware to do RT, not just hit my core with PTGI. EDIT: I am seemingly incorrect, I did not know a texture pack could make use of RT cores. 9:00 I majorly disagree. Not only is the modding scene alive and well like never before, the modding scene is not even a big fan on monetization in the first place. This isnt a business, its a hobby. Because you are working on creations and IPs of others. I cant just write a Harry Potter fanfic and publish/sell it either. No matter how much blood, tears and whatnot got into my project. Next thing is: We arent really supporting the modders (like we do with donations), we are supporting Microsoft for just existing which then in turn pay a fraction of what you spend towards the creator, which is ... most likely not the original creator. Its like the Bethesda Creation Club. But worse. For literally everyone involved but the company. Microsoft and Roblex are the two best examples why "Create and earn money" was never intended for YOU to make money, it was never a service for the hard working modders. Its just a ploy for you to put the work in and make THEM money. And manipulate children into thinking they actually do good for the modding scene. And last but not least: It monitizes a video game that existed beforehand, afterwards and meanwhile without ANY microtransactions, it simply doesnt need it and is extremely consumer unfriendly. I miss the times where i paid up and got the full game NGL
You can notice that most of those skin packs that use "among us" or "dream" in them have a name that is a bit different and the skins also have something on them, this is probably because it counts as something "original" so it doesnt get copyrighted, you can see the same thing happening in other stores too, where someone copy a game, like among us, change one word in the name, and sell as a new game so they can get people that dont look to see if it is the real game that they are buying
Marketplace is cringe. If Microsoft was fan base supporting it would make marketplace For Minecraft Community where they can share maps and skin packs Just like MCPEDL And No minecoins. SERIOUSLY MINECOIN AREN'T PART OF MINECRAFT AND NOBODY BOTHER TO MENTION THEM.
I mean, is anybody surprised? I stopped playing Bedrock when this thing came out, along with the serious performance issues, after having played PE since like 2011 or 2012. Even the good stuff can't really compare to what you can get on Java with talented modders and map creators, and still has some weird cheesy mobile game vibes. There's just no excuse. Bedrock is plain bad and only survives due to the massive amounts of attention Minecraft receives through content creation on Java, and the fact that it is more accessible and tuned towards children. Its why so many Java players fear the concept of parity.
@@philhubbs5737 It’s only more popular due to the fact that every console is built to handle the same things while laptops and pcs have so much variety that you can have a laptop that can’t even run minecraft while also having another that can run minecraft with every mod in existence with no lag. Not to mention it’s cheaper to own a console than it is to own a good computer/laptop. Java is exclusively on PC which means it’s reach is restricted while Bedrock is on PC, mobile, AND console. You can’t use the argument that one is more popular when it has an unfair advantage being available everywhere.
I've used that resource pack before! The constant advertising of the marketplace was so annoying for me that I genuinely wanted to stop seeing it. Eventually though, I stopped using the pack and just learned to ignore the marketplace ads.
One day I looked up Herobrine in the marketplace to see if there was one so I could have a fun afternoon with my brother. However nothing showed up, and I was confused why NO one made one. Short after I figured out Microsoft doesn’t allow you to make a Herobrine Minecraft map.

Personally I believe the marketplace is fine most players just ignore and play normally or use a website and or app but I feel the bad outweighs the good parts like creators earning money
I spent sm on marketplace mods just to find out half the mods aren’t compatible with eachother, I turn over to downloading mods through files and I instantly felt regret and relief that I didn’t have to get ripped off anymore, I’d rather go through trial and error to get my mods then spend another dollar on a click bait

It baffles me that people would legitimately start/stop playing a game just because their ideology Is/Isn't present.
It’s not forcing ethnic diversity, it’s just representing everyone because what if you were a black person and you never got to make yourself in Minecraft?
The LGBTQ+ thing makes some sense, and I can see why it's not on it, but ya, they could just add a filter based on your country for it, although they could be afraid of people using VPNs and getting caught, which in turn would probably get mojang in trouble, so idk

If they added a button to report infringement, they would only be liable for the content that is reported. That way, it would be more manageable and we would finally be able to deal with these issues.

If someone is willing to spend their free time developing a mod or a resourcepack for free, their finished product will feel like it's been made with love. If someone instead gets payed for it they're more likely to get greedy and sacrifice quality for money.

Hi PotatoPie25
The marketplace is very predatory and honestly isn't good to have so easily accessible for a kids game. However, I will say that most people think that the marketplace is the only way to get mods on Bedrock Edition, which isn't true, there are so many different sites that allow people to get Bedrock mods for free.

@@neogivxapwntcpaa Yeah I know it's just that people that criticize bedrock think its the only way even on PC and that kind of frustrates me
The no refund thing is probably my biggest problem with the marketplace. Sucks paying for something that looks good on marketplace but is lacking in depth gameplay wise. Making bad content should not be financially rewarded. Also the review part of a packs page is really lacking, paid for highly rated stuff only to be disappointed.
The 300x300 rule applies to world templates, not minigames and adventure maps.

yes, they COULD moderate against copyright-infringing content, BUT, this would put them in a VERY bad place legally
every platform does this (incl. youtube) - they don't moderate against copyright-infringing content by themselves, they only do it if the copyright owner sends a DMCA request. because if they did, again, that would make them legally responsible for everything

There really is no excuse for a company the size of microsoft not to have a team that could deal with these issues, they could easily afford to hire a team to "blitz" through what is currently there, overhaul the system, then reduce down to a smaller team that would be on going to manage new things created
it would take time to go through it all and probably would be a messy thing to get going but if done right, would result in a much better system for all and I think would really not effect their bottom line in the long term as they could start building up trust.
good vid mate, cheers

Honestly once you switch to Java Minecraft it’s a breath of fresh air and is much better than bedrock in general

Just let the marketplace sell mods that can be added on to a world, instead of confined to a single world. I will forgive all other issues.
that would solve a lot of things
@@vortexsux That’s why they haven’t done that.
@@A_Viewer granted microsoft's current situation with the game i think that would be a viable co awnser
Good thing you can disable the marketplace button with a texture pack, and have access to game files
Before anyone says, yes, you can get free content on bedrock from outside the game and never touch the marketplace and getting good texture packs.
Time to go fuck with it. Ty.

I majorly disagree.
I think the military rule is a more recent one, since I think a year ago I could find a bunch of military skins on the marketplace
It’s 2024, what the hell is Among Us doing there anyway.

Stastically Bedrock is preffered i agree to disagree ✌️
@@philhubbs5737 It’s only more popular due to the fact that every console is built to handle the same things while laptops and pcs have so much variety that you can have a laptop that can’t even run minecraft while also having another that can run minecraft with every mod in existence with no lag.
