FYI, You shouldn't high pressure rinse your car before foaming it. The foam cannon serves to lift the dirt away from the surface of the car. High pressure before soaking is like sand blasting your car and will scratch it. Use a regular hose first to get loose dirt off the vehicle.
I have that same foam cannon along with a similar $20 one. I don't get as much suds as you got but I don't use as much soap as you did and I also have a weak, electric pressure washer compared to your gas one. good video but the title seemed misleading. you should've done a side by side comparison with a high end foam cannon to experiment to see if you really do get similar results versus just saying you would get similar results
Froylan Cepeda I know I was trying to make a point saying there are companies out there selling the same exact product for $80 more than other companies! Trying to save us consumers from falling into the trap! It's the same exact cannon. On alibaba you can order these cannons for $1-2 a piece wholesale and then companies with the capital to order them get them then sell them for crazy prices trying to make it seem like they're selling a "better" cannon just because it's more money! That's not the case!
Sorry man, it is not the exact same product at all. I've used 3 of those cheap ones (lemonbest and all) and they all broke within two years. Best budget one is the mhhjc on amazon.
mouthies3 they are the same product, im going off the $90 chemical guys Cannon and an Amazon cannon, I'm sure they're are many brands out there but the majority of foam cannons are indeed all the same product except for the price!
I meant that all 3 broke within the two year time frame. The mhhc one is like 30-35 bucks and lasts more than two years easy, while making better thicker foam, coming with spare parts and markers on the bottle.
Can't even compare this remotely to the MTM PF22. Night and day difference. I have both, so not bias. The MTM uses half the soap, for 3x the foam. My cheap one (actually 2) started leaking within 2 months. NOT the same thing as the $90 ones.
I detail trucks everyday fpr the past 6 months if u want my advice u get wayy thicker suds with just pure soap no water added and u dont even need thst much i fill it it ul to the very 1st line literally a cap full pepl go crazy with blasting their car down for 10min str8 honestly all u need is a quick 2min pass around the vehicle all it does is help loosen the dirt its not sum magical guru device ur washing method and wash mitt is more important
Main Tedy my bad wen i meant pure soap i meant filling the foam cannon with 100% car soap and no water "pure soap" rather than adding 50/50 car soap and water the cannon already does the job of making suds
That's how I do it. The pressure washer will mix in the eater for you. I do a quick spray to get any grease or heavy build up off or loose, then foam. Hit it with a mit then rinse off. With detailing the washing part is only prep work for everything else so I do what I can to get that done a fast as I can to move on to claying and paint correction.
So glad I came across this. I was about to buy one of the $70 ones. I was like man I don't want to do anything to my brand new truck I better not take the cheap option. But now I know I can!!
The difference is the bottles. That bottle will break on the neck after a few washes from the weight. I got one after the cheep one that has a. Brass bottle top that screws in to prevent t this.
I had already learned what you explained years ago, just when this foam cannon thing kicked off, all of then are made in China, and all these companies do is put their own logo on it, and it's suddenly the best on, love the fact you made a video about it, just think how much money people would save just by watching this video, well done
Have this exact same foam cannon and can't believe I didn't knoe about turniing the nozzle in front to change the width. I always wondered why it was such a small stream. Thanks for the informative video!
This foam gun did not come with the quick plug connect. Can you indicate where you pick up yours and also please provide information on the pressure wand.
I never looked up or mentioned foam cannon anywhere on the internet. Then suddenly yesterday I decided I wanted one but never actually looked them up and eventually forgot about them. Then first thing i see when I open up TH-cam is this foam cannon video. Strange..
Dudes this isn't bullshit I was shopping for an air fryer at Walmart and I've literally never typed it in to Google or anything close and I literally typed ai and air fryers came up. Shits scary but dope video bro
Great video! I think there's two types of people writing negative reviews or comments: 1. the ones that bought an expensive over-priced product or 2. Company employees of expensive over-priced products
I've noticed the major difference in price is the ones that have a higher mix ratio of 12 to 1 which is what's needed when doing chemical roof cleaning with sodium hydrocloride. Not sure of mix ratio of this unit but the ones that had it listed was either 24 to 1 or 48 to 1 which is great for a car but too weak to clean in other applications
I want to believe you and I think I will. You seem like an honest guy. Fuck paying all that money. You saved me a bit of cash brother and I thank you. Cheers to you for putting this video out there. Keep up the good work.
You were absolutely correct! I bought the $16 foam cannon and it worked fantastically! What a difference it made washing my new Jeep. Thanks for the video! 👍🏻😀. I used a 2000 PSI Pressure washer.
Yep, I picked up one from Amazon this year for my business. They all do look the same. Not only did it save a lot of time when having to wash the cars, but it saves a ton on soap. We were able to get about 5 cars washed with one fill. That was just using about 3-5 ounces of soap and then the rest water. You just need to adjust the flow of how much water is used.
Ryan Mayer i bought the same one about 6 month ago and i use dollar genral soap and gets as much foam as you. i usually wash any loose dirt off then foam cannon and scrub it good with a brush and wash it all off... still cant figure out why people by the really expensive stuff
I bought the same foam cannon. The O-rings constantly pop and break. Almost like it wasn't built to withstand the pressure although was marketed for my psi. I agree I still have great results, just expect to get a little wet
Spending $16, $90, or $672 dollars on a foam cannon doesn't matter if you don't know the purpose of using one OR if you don't know proper wash techniques. I mean if you're going to wash you car in the same manner this kid did 😂 keep that $16 bucks.
Cesar Gonzalez the main purpose of the foam Cannon is to wash off most of the dirt before you touch the paint , that way you don't get any swirl marks on your paint
I was seeing the same thing, that they are the exact same product just with a different bottle or logo on it, and found one on Amazon for around the same price as yours, mine arrives tomorrow, thanks for the review, now I feel better about my purchase and can't wait to use the one I ordered.
Just got this same cannon. Haven't tried it yet. Thanks for the vid. You killed me with your wash technique. Please check out 2-bucket wash or Garry Dean wash technique.

What’s the point though? It was a test to see the difference between the foam. Yeah a different colored vehicle would help, but the main focus of this video is how thick the foam is applied, not how well it cleans the car.

So if the cheap one sprays the foam the same as the expensive one, then they’ll clean the car the same. So yes it does make sense to test with disregard to how it cleans. You just have to think a little. 😉
Any foam cannon you buy it doesn't matter whether your vehicle is dirty or clean you will always pre rinse which will knock off heavy dirt etc.. Then you blast it with cannon, let it sit and then you would use your mitt, cloth or in his case a window brush lol and then you would rinse and dry
Just a forewarning to anyone that has or buys a foam cannon whether it would be the expensive name brand foam cannons or in this case a $16 amazon foam cannon. You want to find soap that is foamy instead of sudsy..if that makes sense? You want the foam not suds
Sorry I didn't listen very well to the video but does the cannon hook right to the end of the power washer without an adapter ? Or does the cannon come with the adapter ? If not where can I buy the adapter
Dawn dish soap is a champ at foaming up. Just make sure when you clean using dawn that you reapply wax because it pulls everything off. Dawn cleans so good too.
Tell me how that holds up because half the Amazon reviews are people like you who say it's great after the first wash and then the other half say it's crap since it breaks on the second or third use
Andrew Lyon hasn't failed me yet!!! It's literally the same cannon as the more expensive ones just not over priced! But even if it did break sometime in the future two cheap ones for $34 total is still cheaper than one $90 one!!!
I’ve used mine about 10 times at least, and it’s great so far. Only gripe I have isn’t even the foam cannons fault, but I have a fix on the way for it. Electric pressure washers don’t play nice with foam cannons, but if you change the orifice in the cannon to a smaller bore one you can get much closer to what you see with gas pressure washers.
I have a green works 2000psi pressure washer and I've bought 2 different foam cannons, both under twenty dollars. Both the foam cannons I bought don't work unless I hold them upside down...
I m8. I bought that gun but my when I got it, it doesn't fit in my black and Decker washer machine lol. Which one is your ? What model of washer, I meant. Regards.
Dear Ryan, I work for a company manufacturing among others foam cannons. It is not easy to make a video like this even more when you want to make a comparison between 2 products not knwoing anything about them but basing yourself on your feelings about handling such a product not being inside the carwash world. First of all a comparison is made between 2 or more similar products. You have only used the "cheap" one without showing the "expensive professional" ones. So you cannot talk about a real comparison in this case. You have done right to make a precise distinction between products for Hobby/DIY purposes or Professional use. From the outside mostly this difference is not to be seen but the quality of the components and the the way the product is manufactured should relate to strict regulations. The product can be visually similar but qualitatively VERY different, without saying that "different" equals worse. However, this is not to just to justify the price difference but also the level of safety of a product. As you said, you received the box from Amazon and after unboxing the product there was nothing else inside, nothing to describe how or where and at which regulations it was manufactured, how it works or how to make it work in the best possible way, how to maintain or how to repair it if necessary, which spare parts to use and where to buy them, but OK for $16,- yo buy a new one without thinking of repairing or buying spare parts ;-). So even for a $ 16,- foam cannon this is not acceptable but of course if the result suits you, this is fine with me. What I saw, is that you are not a professional carwasher, so this product will probably be the right thing for you, you don't need to spend any more money for a professional product. What would you do if the product would explode/desintegrate in your face or damage your car while using it with the high pressure washer, you think Amazon will stand for it? Where would you complain or get your rights?
MTM makes foam cannons for basically everybody. I'm not sure what it costs but I think it was a good deal to get one from carpro because it comes with whatever adapter you need for your own pressure washer. Which is good if you need it because brass fittings are expensive. It also comes with a filter on the end of the straw.
Fantastic. I was about to purchase one of those $80 cannons. So lucky I saw this before I did. I just saved $64, not to mention more on car wash soap. Nice job.
Nice job! Plan on using it to foam a huge RV so I can hit with a brush afterward. Really appreciate showing it being used with off the shelf wash/wax product.
thats marketing and people who have been burned with cheap stuff will trust expensive products because they view it as a well spent product that is higher quality. i tend to test cheap stuff then move on to the next if i have to. im not the type that likes to show off a name brand and belittle others that cant afford it. i love these videos. helps to shop smarter.
Wow thanks for a great video. I just ordered one from Amazon about 5 minutes ago then came to TH-cam to look for reviews and found this one. Thanks again, you gained a new sub!
All true, my cannon was $29 on amazon but it has the hand holder and trigger thingy. A good microfiber mit and microfiber cloths's are a must. I find that Chemical guys soaps do tend to last longer than cheaper stuff.
I like how you compared 2 products by only using one product! That was a great comparison and demonstration of both products!!!
Anytime! You're welcome!
Lmao
xD
And he used a shitty washing squeegee on all parts of the car. That’s just dumb. Let’s see all the scratches and swirl marks
although it would be tricky to see scratches and swirl marks on white.

My 60$ foam cannon can foam better than this 16$ one and some of the really expensive ones with my electric power washer.
u wot it depends on the soap and temp you mix the soap with, warm water suds better in general

You need some o-rings on that washer bro lol
I purchased a $19 one from Walmart yesterday to use for use on a regular garden hose and it's just as good too! Screw overpaying lol
I just need a pressure washer to get that type of result. A regular garden hose just doesn't work with these cannons unfortunately

I've got the $16 one and have no complaints! I've used it weekly for a couple months now.
Alex Prollock rock on!! Still use mine all the time works wonderful
TH-cam read my mind. I've been thinking about buying a foam cannon lol. Thanks for the video. Good job.

I have that same cannon from Amazon and have been using it for like 2 years. It is awesome and works flawlessly.
Hey man that's the foam cannon I ordered ages ago, it works great for me!
Thank you I need one for my dirt bike but I don’t have a power washer would it be ok if I use a hose
It would have helped with the review if u did this review on a dirty car
wtfwc and a non white car so you could actually see the foam.
What’s the point though? It was a test to see the difference between the foam. Yeah a different colored vehicle would help, but the main focus of this video is how thick the foam is applied, not how well it cleans the car.
Chip Fisher the foam cannon itself doesn’t clean the car. It’s the foam itself soaking the dirt up and dragging it down off the paint. So if the cheap one sprays the foam the same as the expensive one, then they’ll clean the car the same. So yes it does make sense to test with disregard to how it cleans. You just have to think a little. 😉
All the videos of foam cannons are of clean ass cars already. That's why I've always been hesitant to buy it cuz my cars get dirty

What adapter do I need in order to use this foam cannon with my spx 3000 sun joe electric power washer?
MTM makes foam cannons for basically everybody.
I'm not sure what it costs but I think it was a good deal to get one from carpro because it comes with whatever adapter you need for your own pressure washer. Which is good if you need it because brass fittings are expensive.
It also comes with a filter on the end of the straw.
I love the glasses. Whats the model number on those?
What i wanna know is what Oakley sunglasses are you wearing?
I read numerous complaints about how cheap the threads on the bottle is. You did not mention construction quality. Any comments?
Do you need a high psi and gpm pressure washer to get a lot of foam?
I have to know what is the wash mitt/squeegee you used to wash with? Can’t find anywhere, really like it!!
Glad I watched this. Looked at one supplier's catalog, lots of cool stuff but no prices shown; always get a bad feeling from that!
Fantastic. I was about to purchase one of those $80 cannons. So lucky I saw this before I did. I just saved $64, not to mention more on car wash soap. Nice job.
how much was your pressure washer? and where did you buy it
Wait, why is there a water tap in your garage ? I think that’s a first for me. Usually see them outside the garage
It's the foam cannon Chris Fix used in his video no?
@RYAN MAYER Good Comparison video, may I know if it's ok for you to review our foam cannon S V3.0?Thanks in advance!☺
Nice job! Plan on using it to foam a huge RV so I can hit with a brush afterward. Really appreciate showing it being used with off the shelf wash/wax product.
+dablingtime thanks for watching!!!! Will do wonders on your RV!!!
So where does the comparison to the $90 foam cannon come in? I think I missed it.
Will this foam cannon work with my PowerStroke 3100 PSI Pressure Washer with Subaru Electric Start Engine
So did you tighten the knob all the way down for it to come out like that
Yes
I have used the same cannon for a year - only downside is that I use double the soap compared to normal bucket wash. Soaps cheap though
Thank you for this video. I purchased mine the other day from Amazon and figured i would try it to see if I would like it or not.
thats marketing
and people who have been burned with cheap stuff will trust expensive products because they view it as a well spent product that is higher quality.
i tend to test cheap stuff then move on to the next if i have to.
im not the type that likes to show off a name brand and belittle others that cant afford it.
i love these videos. helps to shop smarter.
Wow thanks for a great video. I just ordered one from Amazon about 5 minutes ago then came to TH-cam to look for reviews and found this one. Thanks again, you gained a new sub!
Bailey Nelson perfect! Look how that worked out :)
Yo, good looking out. I've been hunting for one for the longest, didn't wanna pay that much for a foam canon. That music is dope, too.
Why was you using a sponge and not a microfibre wash mitt
What kind of shades are those, where did you get them?
What kind of pressure washer you have ?
All true, my cannon was $29 on amazon but it has the hand holder and trigger thingy. A good microfiber mit and microfiber cloths's are a must. I find that Chemical guys soaps do tend to last longer than cheaper stuff.
What type of power washer is that? Could you link me to it thanks bro
Were those excalibur or Diablo or perhaps supper magnum artillery shells 🤔
Thanks for the comparison , I can't justify buying one that pricey for my Infiniti lol it's not a Ferrari so the 16$ will do the job !
That's the same soap I use for my detailing buisness. But mines the concentrated green one and it smells amazing. My customer's love it.
