- I LOVE THE EAGLE I LOVE THE EAGLE I LOVE THE... Oh yeah, the Eagle is in a really good spot still, months after the BR change. The Japanese one I haven't covered yet, and it has one really interesting benefit over the F-15A found in the US and Israeli tech trees: better IR missiles.

F-15J, F-15A, Baz. Basically all the same jets with slightly different weights and radars, and mostly have the same loadout.

I've had some crazy head on shots with the AAM-3... literally shot at a guy 9km away head on (Sinai another F-15). It hit. I've seen 9M's do some crazy long range head ons so I started to wonder and... yea it worked lol. Haven't tried it in awhile, it happened a couple months ago. Maybe like 3 or 4 instances where it locked head on at pretty extreme range... probably cuz it was on a hot map vs hot aircraft. Try doing it to a Gripen it refuses to lock like that.
Was reading about it, F-15JSI does seem to still be in the works. It's more other situations around the world pushing the program to the backburner while other stuff is developed.
What I'm more interested in is that late last year, Smin said that the Hungarian air tree wasn't coming any time soon, only for it to come two updates later, and as far as I know, he hasn't said that the Typhoon isn't coming soon either, so I reckon that it may be coming with three updates or so.
No Lee, the f15 had flares as early as 1978. the only "flareless" f15s were in national guard service in the 1980's
I heard the comment about the F-15 vs Tornado f.3 and got reminded of one of the most embarrassing plays ever.
I was playing the Tornado GR.1, simply bombing to spade. I already fired off my two missiles and said fuck it, I go to engage an F-15, nothing to really lose. He is the last guy.
Somehow, SOMEHOW, I managed to get on his tail and he chose to verticle and try stall on me? Idk if he was trying to get me to stall first so he could get on me but in the end I ended up firing a burst of the mausers and killed it.

Now, they Could bring in the F-2 and give that the AIM-120 on that, even tho it only carries the AAM-4

Another nice video Lee, I've tried using the F-15 but it's wings always seem to pop off even in level flight or when going defensive and it has really put me off the eagle. Any tips to avoid ripping wings off? I feel like I'm flying the F8U2 all over again. Don't have the issue in other airframes it's literally just the eagle.
If you snap your wings while turning you probably want to unequip the ”new boosters” modification
I haven't had major issues with the F-15 ripping, but it seems to do it more above like 20 minutes of gas. Are you running more than like 30 minutes of fuel? Also avoid any movements where you lower the nose quickly with your mouse

4:29 The AAM-3 possesses a different IRCCM than the 9M; the 9M shuts off its seeker head and uses its internal computer to predict where the target goes, whereas the AAM-3’s IRCCM functions similarly to the R-73.
This is just straightup wrong. It uses shutoff as well.

@@GeneralLee2000 Checked the WT wiki and yea it uses shutoff in-game. Just could’ve sworn it also had smth similar to the R73 but guess I’m wrong
@@BF-109 yeah the IRCCM ingame is currently inaccurate to IRL (it's been bug reported which I mention that it may change in the video) but currently, it just has shutoff like the 9M

Im still curious about what other nations, specifically Germany, will get with the fox 3 update. If its the F-4 ICE then its DoA but I have heard an idea of them getting an F-18. Who knows at this point.
F4 ICE at 12.0 may be surprisingly good for the beginning and mid game TBF...maybe...

Yeah it's a oneoff for testing, it caused issues which is why they didn't do it to the rest of the fleet. Looked hilarious though

I think there's only going to be two F-15Js looking at the way they've handled previous aircraft like this (F-4EJ), but there isn't really any consistency with what Gaijin does anyways....

@@Smoke-Rk yeah some news agencies erroneously labelled it that. There's F-15J, F-15J MSIP, F-15J MTDP, and F-15JSI. The MTDP I think is the one that got labelled as Kai, but unlike the F-4EJ Kai there's no official F-15J Kai
Even in a downtier though, f15 is still going to be facing Mirage 2ks, and assuming that the M2k is piloted by a skilled individual, the f15 gonna get dogwalked by M2k.

Flight performance and kits yes. Amount of them in game, players in them clapping? No, when they start dominating the lower BR s they will do something about it.
The f15 suffers for 4 reasons, helmet mount displays are king in current meta, f15 in the American tree is cheapest top tier jet that you don’t have to grind further for given that most new players start American aviation, wing rip from maneuvers that players were doing in their f4’s and f5’s. Playing against a9m’s and r73’s in the same lobby makes it very hard for new players to determine what strategy they need to employ to beat the missile coming their way when they were just playing at br that requires max 3 flares from any aspect to beat everything at the br.
Unlocked the f-15 and GE'ed missiles. First game was a downtier....I got 7 kills.
F16 AJ or F15J? I tend to f15, i have the F16 MLU already.

I have both but only use f16aj on the dogfight server. I use the f15j for everything else. They are both amazing but at different things.

ml has no real issue with anything it normally faces and even with the f15 you just need to swing your wings out and turn

Ballancing by stats is tbh the best way. If stats shows it shouldn't be on 12.7 than it actually should not be there 🤓
The reason why the F-15J gets the most downtiers isn't cause japan lacks a 12.7, it's due to how few people play their 11.3-12.0 offerings, due to the fact that asside from the F-16AJ, they all are kinda meh, and barely anyone plays them.
Also, the F-15J isn't an F-15C, it's based on the F-15C, but due to some domestically made parts being slightly different (and a good bit of japanese copium over their pride), it's technically it's own unique variant

The F15 is kinda in a weird place. If the other 12.7 go to 13.0 then the F15A should go to 12.7 but it is kinda in a weird place

The F15A is honestly miles better than the F15J. The J feels too heavy and cumbersome

I once had a guy tell me an F-15 with Aim-120A would finally be able to put up a fight against an Su-27 with R-27ER (Implying it's still worse) and I think that explains allot about why the F-15 is still 12.3...
A top 3 airframe without a real weakness with top 5 weaponry which is shafted by bottom 10% level players. Potential like that facing F-4J's, Mig-23ML(A/D)'s, and J37D's is just criminal...

I mean I've seen your stream for this videos creation. Sure the aircraft has great performance but you rarely got to use that because R27 bullshit, gripen bullshit etc.
So maybe gaijin had a point trying to keep this thing fun sometimes without it's HMD, only 4 good missiles in an HMD IR meta.

If I can be honest here, I dont like the F-15. I can't make it work. It has everything, yet nothing. I do badly in it, but I can't notice what I'm doing wrong. The jack of all trades, master of none just isn't working for me.
Yes, I know its a massive skill issue, and I agree with that. But when I plane or tank doesn't have any advantage I can exploit, then I don't know what to do really.
nah bud, don't get fooled by some content creators gaslighting, you might not be the best player but the plane also has some unavoidable problems that CCs tend to turn a blind eye on to bait people into grinding it.
I can assure you that you'll will have better luck with both F-14/16 platforms, the F-15 state ingame rn is just marketing and mostly a veteran's decent pick for flexing.
@exhausting_thoughts look, I am a veteran player. 2k hours on the record, in vehicles alone (calculated from in-game stats).
In F-14 I had a blast, in both of them. In Russian jets too, all of top tier. But F-15 is just eh, I just can't make it work.
@@sawiszcze3878 If you still want to give the F-15 another shot, try to play it aggresively, don't hesitate on flanking or stuff, gain enough altitude but to not generate trails (+-5400 meters) and then start BVRing people whats on your height, and then do orbital striking with 9Ms, although that's the definition of what you should be doing on most top tier planes, the F-15 handles climbing quite good, but that's it, the rest is on your end

8:15 some of you guys are overrating the F-15 in such a silly way while ignoring the fact that in uptiers sucks terribly, not to mention that -you'll have to forgive me to drag this to the discussion- during your F-15 stream you didn't managed to get more than 3 frags at 12.3-12.7 lobbies.
This plane curbstomps at the rank is right now because it is borderline superior to its current counterparts, but it is not an absolute superiority, hence why it excels at downtiers, but gets clapped at uptiers. 12.3 is okay and stop the gaslighting around this topic.
The stream isn't really a great representation, since I'm both trying to fly and talk to y'all at the same time. I can't just focus on the games. Also if you notice, my highest kill game in the video is a 12.7 match. I'm not gaslighting, the F-15 is still very much capable of 12.7. Even if it wasn't, it's better than one plane is worse off than oppressing an entire bracket.

Most of planes at 11.3 have enough flares to counter at least 2 out of the kit of 4 9Ms, opressing an entire bracket is an overstatement.

You played the game when the F-15 was 12.3 along everything else? Without HMD nor proper SARH, the F-15 has no business against R-27ERs without multipath or Gripens going orbital striking with +700 CMs.

This jets only peers at 12.3 are the F16 Netz and Mirage 20005F. The F15 gets significantly more, and better, missiles than both. It also has increased survivability over both with its countermeasures suite. It dog walks the Mirage 2000 flight performance wise, and is totally competetive against the F16A, being marginally worse in a dogfight.
Not only is it much better than its peers, but it can easily stand toe to toe with the MiG 29s, Mirage 4000, and in my opinion, maybe the F16C. Its got relatively similar weapons performance, better survivability, and better flight performance.
All of this is irrelevant anyways, because even if the F15 was the worst 12.7, it would make far more sense for it alone to suffer, than to let it bully an entire BR underneath it.

I agree entirely that the f15 shouldn't be 12.7 as it'd be the worst 12.7. however I do disagree it dogwalks the mirage, the aoa on the mirage I think is all around better than the f15s energy retention
absolutely wishful thinking take, mostly by not assuming that the furball meta favors most of the planes you mentioned to a greater extent than the F-15, it will literally get floored by 4th gen stuff up to being unenjoyable, as it already happened during between december to february when everything was 12.3.
@@cagingskies9584 ...you might win and i'd applaud you, but you can't expect the game to be balanced around your exclusive performance with a vehicle, as of now i have a 1.89K/D with the F-15, i may not be a living legend in it but take a look around the average F-15 player on your team or some enemies, there's people with less than a proper neutral K/D with hundreds of games in that plane but that's not all, then check their other airframes, and unsuprisingly, they tend to have neutral to positive K/Ds on most of stuff, but their usual exception is the broken, bully and abominable F-15 at 12.3.
That can't be underestimated because of your beliefs are on the tone of 'it would make far more sense for it alone to suffer, than to let it bully an entire BR underneath it', which is also an overstatement.

I think F-15J can use AAM-4 because I think AAM-4 is not that strong. Afaik AAM-4 have 100km range with non AESA radar so I think it is kind of ok just give it AAM-4 (4B uses AESA and 120km it is another story.) I'm hoping for AAM-3+AAM-4(15J) and AAM-4B+AAM-5B(15J Kai) as the two tech tree Eagle for Japan.
BTW only the basement guy play the game so unless he is the one balancing, it is not surprised that Gaijin use player stats for balancing.
The AMRAAM C-5 that I mentioned in the video has 105 km range and is the closest to AAM-4 in terms of range and capability. Also, the F-15J Kai doesn't actually exist 😅

@@GeneralLee2000 I kinda understand the range stuff in this case, but I don't know about other capabilities of AAM-4. AAM-4 looks more like a fire and forget sparrow so the pull might be worse than amraam? IDK tho.
BTW, I think they can just add AAM-4 with nerfed performance if needed (such as being more easily notched or lofting capability limited)
I'm ok with 120A/B on 15J but more a fan of domestic missiles
