I always liked this one a lot.
I’ve been there a few times.
One of my favorite George Strait songs.
It's George. It's a 10. Wow! Thanks Roger for the fabulous request, and thanks Don for the excellent reaction!
Atleast she was honest with him and didn't say yes and then break his heart
You should react to So Much Like My Dad by him. Great song and twist.
Don has reacted to this. Look in his playlist…
Ok. Thank you
Love the song and your apt reaction
Wonderful reaction, Don! That line "You can lead a heart to love, but you can't make it fall" is also a play on the old expression: "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink". Just a brilliant set of lyrics there.
I love George beautiful song. No disrespect to George or the song writer, but I immediately thought of you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. Thanks Roger and Don
I don’t see why it would be taken as disrespectful. I believe that connection was intentional on the part of the songwriter(s).
This one cuts deep because i had feelings for a girl and ultimately she said she wished she felt the same way but she didn't
Same here.
You can't go wrong with George Strait....King of Country Music...there is a reason for that title. Some of the greatest songs artists have ever done have never been given air time. You don't hear them until you buy the album or CD.
So true…
My favorites from King George are So Much Like My Dad; I Cross My Heart; You Look So Good In Love; Love Without End, Amen; Carrying Your Love With Me; The Cowboy Rides Away; What’s Going On In Your World; Today My World Slipped Away; When Did You Stop Loving Me; I’d Like To Have That One Back; The Best Day; and I Know She Still Loves Me.
Love your reactions. Could you try and find Lacy J Dalton, singing 16th Ave.
Don has done 16th Ave, I believe…
@@rogersmith626 l will search again. I didnt see it first time I looked. Sirry
I've been there, too (from the woman's perspective) when I knew the man was the epitome of what I needed and wanted in my life, but the heart has the final say. I could have said yes, but that would not have been fair to the man. The initial hurt (and I know it did) was better than not being able to truly return the love. We've been friends ever since and that was many years ago. Maybe I would have fallen in love, but I didn't want to risk hurting him more later. Thank you, Roger for a great request and Don for the discerning reaction!
You’re welcome, Carolinasbeauty! I’m from NC myself…..
@@rogersmith626 Thank you again, Roger. I hadn't heard the song before, but it touched me deeply. I'm near Greensboro, NC.
And I am north of Hickory about 10 miles on 321. Nice to make your acquaintance.
@@rogersmith626 I've read most of your comments, Roger and loved your requests. Nice to "meet" you, neighbor! Hickory is beautiful country. I like the northern piedmont because it in itself is beautiful, but In 2 hrs or less I can be in the mountains or at the coast. Used to love to hike or horseback ride in the mtns and foothills and loved to fish, both fresh and salt water. Best of both worlds. Blessings to you, my friend.
@@carolinasbeauty thank you, and blessings to you! Have a great evening….
It’s amazing how infrequently George Strait gets requested/reacted to on this channel, considering he has 50 number one hits, and is the “King of Country”. And when he does get reacted to here, it’s his more obscure songs… Just kind of strange.
@evanhughes1510 There are a lot of artists with a lot of good songs, some are better well known (Merle, Hank Sr/Jr, Johnny, Willie, Waylon, Alan, Alabama, George Jones, Tammy, Loretta, Conway, Johnny Horton, etc.), and many indy/Texas artists. I've reacted to more than 20 of George Strait's songs, so he's got a good representation on the channel. There are just a lot of artists who have put out, and are putting out, good music in the past 80 years or so.
Hey Don, this was written by Johnny MacRae, & Steve Clark, this is a great song and as usual George, done his usual great job on it. Thanks for the request & thank you Don, for the reaction, always a great job. Hey Don, I would like to request a song by George Strait, called " WHEN DID YOU STOP LOVING ME" another great song by George Strait. Thanks
Your request is one of my top 5 George songs of all time.
@@rogersmith626 I think it's one of the best traditional country songs, there's really good country song's then there's what I call hard core traditional country music, old style heart ache song's that are just great to listen to. Not much of it today!! Thanks for your reply
If you want the flip side (i.e., they find each other) check out George Strait’s “Blue clear sky”
I really enjoy this one from George. I do agree that it's one of his best vocal performances.
That said I don't really consider this one of my favorites from him. On storytelling and musical production "I can still make Cheyenne" would be no.1 for me.
"Baby's gotten good at goodbye", "Wrapped" and "Am I blue" are also personal favorites, although the list of George Strait songs I like is so long it would take hours to get through.
Again Don, a fave of mine as it defines the love gone wrong/ broken heart part of life that most ho through at some point in our lives. I have experienced this, and unfortunately, caused this. But when times are rough, these songs get me through. As the comedian Tim Wilson said, “If times are rough, put on some Merle (his choice) and he’ll drink a beer and miss her with you”. I’ve never been high or drunk in my life, but I have a fondness for sad country songs. Always thought if I had a honky-tonk, I’d name it “Tears and Beers”. Have a good ‘un…
Great tune, Roger! Always been one of my top George songs.
I've often thought this song is the country version of Meatloaf's Two Out of Three.
As you said, great song with two great characters and a fine singer. Agree with you on this, even though I tend to like lighter fare. This is probably a better song, but I think I like You know me better than that better, even though I recognize it’s not as poignant as this
George Strait is the latest King of country!!!
What a great song…this may be the saddest song I have ever heard.
Dear Don, hi. It's sharlene again. How are you today? I hope you're doing well.
I like to request a song. I know you only do country, and I don't know what genre this group is so you might not play it.

Geez woman wtf if you knew that was coming why the hell did you let enduring keep on? Jesus Christ if men are so in love they want to marry you then then whatever "signs" you were putting off that you didn't feel the same way, 9 out of 10 men can't and don't realize it. So you just let it go to this heart shattering point
