Another great reaction Don. This song gives me chills just listening to it. Interesting fact when Goerge Jones was at George Strait's medallion ceremony he introduced him as King George Strait. Both class acts

One of my faves by George. It was released in 91, so it was a little earlier in his career (started in '81), but I'd think more early-mid. This song was a co-write by another one of my faves, Gretchen Peters. The writing is top notch, and George delivers it perfectly. Thanks for a fabulous request Roger, and thanks Don for another terrific reaction. Obviously I'd go a little higher on the rating, but that's just me!

This is definitely a great one (ironically from one of my "least favorite" George Strait albums (I mean, everything by George is great, there were just one or two songs on this album I might consider "skippable")) but I absolutely love this song.

George is definitely among my top five favorite country singers. Pure Country, the sountrack album of the movie, was the first full priced album that I actually purchased and his box set called Strait Out of the Box came soon after that.

Thanks Roger for the request. You can't go wrong with George Strait. I don't think I heard a bad one from George

King George II (As I sometimes call him in deference to Jones) has a few of these songs that don't follow typical verse/chorus structure. Nobody does it better. "The Chair" and "So Much Like My Dad" are similar.

@Joe Skinner George sets such a big bar that each one is expected to be better than the last! :-)

Good stuff man. I'm gonna be sending a donation probably within the next few days. Gotta think of a song I want you to hear.

There's nothing else to say about George, he is one of the best in country music, hey I just love the old traditional country music of years past there is none of the music of today that even resembles a sign of country music in it, just the opinion of a traditional country music fan, it's a shame that the music industry has given up on one of the best sounding music ever. Thanks

Yes, it's a pretty song - a little sad though. I just looked up the writers, but I'm not familiar with them - Daniel Green and Gretchen Peters. George can do no wrong in my book.

Other huge hits besides this one that Gretchen Peters wrote are “Independence Day” by Martina McBride and “You Don’t Even Know Who I Am” by Patty Loveless and “Let That Pony Run” by Pam Tillis.
