    Thank you for this video. I’m 53 years old and have always hated my curly hair because it always looked messy and frizzy. This video has changed my life! I love my naturally curly hair now. No hair dresser has ever taught me any of these tricks…no more flat iron for me.

      Same!! No hairstylest ever taught me the tricks either and I've always said "I don't know how to style my hair curly". You think ONE of them would of helped us! I am SO excited to try her tips - I can't wait to see how my hair turns out. I'm 45 and have always struggled too. Your comment has given me so much HOPE! 😊

      Yea, I love the looks here ... 9:19, 9:31, 10:47 ... the hair is soft and voluminous ... may be a bit of the 80s, but hey, I am a gal from that era, and I still loooove those styles.
      I actually think that the contemporary super-defined curl pattern looks too harsh. But hey, to each our own, right?! 😉

    • @dela2612
      @dela2612 2 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      @@ExtraordinaryLiving I used to style my hair like the "do's" section but I never had the volume I wanted, my curl clumps turned out too big and crunchy and it was way too much work to use different products and section the hair like that, only to have to do it all over again 4-5 days later. Nowadays I just apply some gel like she did in the don'ts section, scrunch it with a microfiber towel and dry it with the diffuser as she did in the don'ts. I now get soft hair with the balance of volume and definition that I like and it's half the work!

    • @weatherviewer
      @weatherviewer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@ExtraordinaryLiving I agree! Especially since my hair is very thin, when it's too defined it looks too thin. Gotta plump up the volume a bit and sacrifice some definition!

    OMG, I feel you on the "professional" hairdresser just destroying your curls to give them more "volume". The worst is how expensive the whole thing turns out to be. Not every hair salon knows how to deal with curls, a lot of them find it "weird" that I refuse to blow-dry it because I don't want straight hair. That's when you realize they don't know how to style curly hair. It's annoying, they won't be honest about not knowing but they will for sure charge you a ridiculous amount of money for the disaster they did. I'd happily send your video to a lot of them 😂
    You're a lifesaver!

      I would say most hairstylist don't have a clue...Most with a capital M. I have never received an actual quality, helpful haircut in my entire life😳 And I live in the Seattle area. I'm finally planning to go to a curly stylist this winter. Wanted to long ago but couldn't bring myself to spend the money🥴 I cut my own hair but it's so much work and I'm too busy. I'm excited to see how much having a curly hair enhancing cut will give my hair an advantage of styling more effectively🤩

      Tip: go to a salon that specialises in curly hair. I went to one last time I cut my hair and it looked so cute, they even recommended me products I currently use right now to curl my hair.

      Would you believe I know some stylist who can give a great curly hair cut but still don’t understand the styling process? I have to remind my stylist every time I don’t want a blow dry before I leave the salon. Nor do I want to use any of the products they use on other clients. Sometimes it almost seems I have offended her/him.

    I've had stick straight hair for almost five decades! I was in a coma with covid & nearly died. I lost about 75-80% of my hair during recovery (post-coma), and it came back in EXTREMELY curly. I know this is not a unique story, but it sure had been a huge adjustment for me! I'm 49 years old, and I know NOTHING about styling these (now) MASSES of curls! I’m 65 years old, and you are teaching me so much! For years, I kept a brush blow dry style and struggled with straightening until I had thyroid trouble and my hair started thinning. Then, I went to a stylist who encouraged me to embrace what I thought was just enough wave to keep my hair always messy. I didn’t realize that I had actual curl until I got a layered scrunch and go cut, which gave great volume to my thinning hair. My curls always look wonderful when I leave the salon, but I could never get it to look like my stylist. I didn’t realize that I was causing my messy frizz by doing so much wrong, Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

    A like, a comment and a subscribe for breaking down the process in detail, and showing the different outcomes of (seemingly) small styling variations. Some women even use the Don't techniques (it seems to be a good compromise for thin hair, sacrificing some definition for the sake of volume), but now they understand what they are doing.

    I needed the tip on sectioning off to distribute evenly !! ALSO I too use the Camille Rose curling gel and it is fantastic. I've had it in my arsenal for years. I just found your channel & I feel confident you'll help me finally find my way with my hair. Thank you SO much !

    I am a formerly stick straight turned curly in my 30s curly girl with a mix of curl types much like yours. A prayer answered, but talk about clueless! You should have seen me when half of my hair was stick straight and the other half curly. 😱 I've watched countless curly girl videos and you are the only one I relate to because we have the same curl types, same hair length and I am FINALLY learning from you! This video is pure gold! I'm a new subscriber and I notice you haven't posted in awhile, but you do have plenty for me to catch up on. I would love to see where you are today. Are you still enjoying those beautiful curls? What are you up to? Heck, I'd even be interested in some fitness tips for middle aged disabled women who can't do a lot, but aren't willing to be fat and flabby! I love your spunky personality and hope you will continue uploading content! I understand that you can only do so many hair videos. That's okay! If I can embrace what I prefer to call early retirement (disability is so negative!), you can embrace your next adventure! Best wishes to you! Thank you for saving my hair!!!!🥰

    You are crazy!! Blow drying and straightening my hair takes like 15 mins top!! Styling my natural curls TAKES FOREVER.... But yes, I never knew if it was going to look cute or not. So I'm excited to watch this...

    SPECTACULAR advice! I’ve struggled with my naturally curly hair ever since my 50’s or so (hormonal changes?), and never understood what I was doing wrong. Turns out, pretty much everything I was doing was wrong! Now I can’t wait to try out all the new techniques! Thank you!
    UPDATE: just ordered every tool and most of the products you recommend through your links. I’d always used a 1875 W hairdryer and thought it was the most powerful they made, and never used the diffusers. But time for change! Lots of it arriving same day (today)!
    UPDATE: Ok, this takes practice to master. So far, I’m looking like a Medusa!

    I am so happy I came across your video! I have wavy/ light curly hair but never wear it naturally because I never knew how to style it and actually like it. I tried your suggestions and technique this morning and OMG!!! A little light frizz but overall I am blown away!! I didn’t have a hair oil to use so I used my hair serum but think it weighed down my hair just a little. Lesson learned but still I am so so happy!!
